That's really interesting. I always thought that playing games (even fps games) with a keyboard and mouse sucked and was pretty hard to control. I wouldn't really know too well though, because I've barely played games on the computer at all. But irregardless, I agree that UT3 should be controller only. If what you say is right (about the mouse being more precise) then the playing field should be completely level.

with a mouse you can controll the looking around so much easier and quicker, plus more resposively. thes no correction needed for many people. all they do is move the mouse, headshot, move the mouse, headshot. those players are obnoxious and play fps's too much. allowing them to play on a consol would defeat the purpose of buying ut3 on a console, and defeat online play entirely.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

I just read an article in the newest PSM. It talks about this controller that's just like a mouse (for fps games). It kind of looks cool, though I don't know if I'd like playing with a mouse more than my trusty dualshock or sixaxis or whatever.

mice are better than any controller, but its much harder to be good with them. i'll kill anyone with the ps2/3 controller, and many on an xbox controller, but on a mouse i'm only in the top third quatile or better of players. im sure many out there are the same or less on this. i want an area i can be good at without others tearing up the place. i hope epic reads this and decides against.
so i guess lair and heavenly sword are not due in may so sony says. yet another delay till probably late summer if not fall. wtf.
and has anyone heard that konami has all but accually confirmed mgs4 on 360 and pc.

I dont know about MGS4 bein on 360 or PC...doesnt seem likely since MGS has been exclusive to Sony.
Wait i forgot....Nintendo got Konami to make MGS games on the game cube and even got Resident evil also which was also exclusive to Sony for a while.
So maybe the Wii will have some type of MGS games?
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

For all the people that complain about the price of the ps3.
You only live once.
So what if you have to fork out a little bit of money, how long is it going to affect you for?? finance wise?? a month?? 2 months??
I was worried about the price of it here in New Zealand ($1200) I went and had a look at it, i was there 30 minutes walked out with a ps3, 3 games, intercooler, bluetooth remote, HDMI cable (total $2000) A laptop with vista and Micrsoft office suit 2007 (total $2000) a 40" X Series Bravia (total $7000) a 5.1 surround sound home theatre (total $1500) I got a lot of flack from the olds, but you no what i dont regrete it for a second, there was something i wanted i got it, i dont regrete it now and come 20 years down the track i wont regrete it then. So you say you'll wait a few years till the price drops, then what?? the next big thing will be in the pipe works that'll come out be over priced and you'll complain about that too. if you want it BUY IT!!! forget the price.
Oh yeah i also bought a xbox 360 too.

I'm all for buying stuff and not worrying too much about money, but I think that what you are saying is a little slanted. Although money seems to you a very trivial thing, which you can throw around at whim without fear of repercussions, I can assure you that other people are not as financially stable as you. I bought a PS3 but it put a big dent in my wallet (one which I am still feeling today).

hey i struggle, i struggle BIG time, but i defiantly not going to let that stop me from getting something i want, that goes for anything, job, sports achievement, hell even a girl, if i want it, i set about getting it.
I also learn to shop for the best deal too, the fact i got all this, on 18 months interest free deffered payments makes things a little easier, just save $55 a week and come the end of the 18 months bame all paid off and i aint made a dent in the bank account.

Im sure most adults can afford a PS3 but have more important things to invest upon.
Use myslef as an example I had saved up $1,500 so I had enough to buy a Ps3 but I have college tuition to pay for. I could easily go buy a PS3 and not go to school but I hate school and cant take a break cuz I want to finish as soon as I can and not fall behind.
During launch in November I had paid tuition already and still had $900 and was ready to get a PS3 but it was impossible to find so I bought a Wii cuz I wanted something new. A few months past and I had only played it around 10 times cuz it got really boring. Lucky me some guy on craigslist decided to trade me his 2 month old 360 premium + Gears of War for my Wii plus 2 games. So now I have a 360(which I did not plan on getting) and still trying to save for a PS3.

oh yea I was trying to say how ppl can afford a PS3 but have more important priorities. Also to show off my good trade deal.
Edit: Plus I dont think PS3 is overpriced at all. I think the wack 360 elite is overpriced. $100 more just for HDMI and 100 more gigs HDD and black paint is stupid. Thats almost the same price as the 20 gig PS3. If the elite had HD DVD included then it would be another story. I know ppl are gonna say that its also dumb that a 60 gig PS3 is a $100 more than the 20 gig but dont forget that the 60 gig comes with wireless internet built in and has memstick duo slots. How much does the wireless adapter cost for the 360?????

I'm pretty excited for later on this year and next year. Wii getting more developer support, and ps3 games should improve quite nicely.
oh and the 360. probably will just keep it's momentum in terms of game development.

yeah what a fooking rip off with the Microsft 360 hardrives. but ya know im still for the 360. because im almost 100% positive BD is going down teh tubes, with recent devlopments here and there. and then couple more years, people will say Blue wat?

why i don't get is why people was to stick to older and cheaper technology. if we don't learn new tech and new ways for things to work, where will society go? nowhere i say. have some bawls to advance tech, instead of having just a dvd on steroids, try something new.

yeah, Blu-ray will eventually become the dominant media. hddvd may be adequate for the present time, but it will eventually be unable to keep with games/movies and Blu-ray will take over.
btw, bawls is pretty good. haha I think it does the job, but it doesn't taste quite as good as rockstar or monster assault or even sobe gold. You probably weren't talking about that though...
so back on topic. I haven't played my ps3 hardly at all since launch day, but I have a feeling this summer I will play the heck out of it. Especially if some type of loader is released. But I definitely want to play virtua tennis, nba 2k7, motorstorm, plus any good new releases for sure, regardless of if the loader comes out.

i'm not getting much fun out of mine. i dont have anything bluetooth for it, not to mention the fact i only have 5 games, most of which suck now or i've played toooooo much. i wish games were the same price, its hard to get new ones fast with the price they are.
rockstar is a really good energy drink, but my fave right now is nos. it pwns.

In a broad sense, I agree that the advance of technology is a good thing and should be encouraged.
Since we're in a console debate, though, the context is completely different. Video game consoles don't exactly usher in a new era of technology because they aren't a necessity. Computers, Energy, Safety, these are things that benefit greatly from leaps in technology. It seems like you view the world is doomed because people don't want to pay for high-priced technologically advanced video game systems.
Besides, in the scope of things, Blu-ray and HD-DVD (i'm using these because you mentioned the same argument in the Blu-ray news thread) are pretty similar in their "technological leaps" when compared to holographic disks or stacked volume optic disks or hell even protein covered disks.

those formats you descride after for enourmouse storage are they not? in the terabytes? let those develope for when they are needed. bluray atleast has a different apperature too allow more space, and we need to get better at making things more efficient. companies focus on profit, we need rich individuals willing to take a risk for the better of mn kind. we need to drop old techs like sdtv completely or some people will stay satisfied with it and not move on. i'm one for progress, not lagging. these companies need to produce the best things and if everyone did, they would all be cheap. imagine if every car company made nothing but cool looking cars, there would be no profit. there is little difference between a 20k car and a 100k car but looks and a few part changes. its a raqeut of epic proportions.
