Unlcky mate.Xbox 360 is great when it works but really sucks when it doesn't.I 'm dredding the day I turn my 360 on and see 3 red lights flashing.I heard that microsofts guarantee for 3 red lights is now 3 years after purchase though.Have you sent yours to them?

i have no idea, sorry to jump back into the conversation so late.
What i'm wondering is, why even risk it? Buy a mini fan from Walmart, aim that at an angle at the backside of your 360, and problem solved. It won't blow away as much hot as an an intercooler, but it's a lot safer. All you need is another outlet to plug it in, and done! $6 vs. $18+ doesn't seem as bad IMHO. Remember, don't buy this. But something smaller than this.

with the high fail rate of the 360 and the new line thats not much better I would say the coolers are not he direct cause 0-o

well just have to wait till the dual 64nm chips are put in it....

Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

I've had this intercooler on my box for 3 months and no problems besides that it's extremely noisy. I've heard that they can burn up though so I will take my intercooler off and sell it on ebay to some dumb schmo!

ya its said that it does nothing but make the original fans on the xbox 360 run harder and this makes the console run hotter not cooler. they are a waist of money!!

My Nyko Intercooler was fine for a while, till about 3 weeks ago. Keep in mind I have the Intercooler which came out about 5 months after they released the Intercooler for the first time so it was still a pretty new model. Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I noticed that I would be getting the ring of death (3 red lines) on my xbox 360. I decided to take a look at what was going on and I noticed this.

It looks like it JUST started to burn into the plastic, good thing I noticed it when I did or it would have gotten worse, and possibly affected my xbox 360 in the long run. I simply took it off and now its running fine. I used to have to use it because I kept it in the media center where it got pretty hot, I have since moved it to a place where it stays cooler, since I got a 32" LCD 2 days ago (black friday) for my "game" room. Dont have to use it in the family media center anymore.

Ekk im sorry to hear that. Have you been around to purchase another 360? Even though I highly doubt they would, have NYKO offered anything in return?

I got my 360 a few days ago, and took a small fan I had over my receiver to keep it cool, and aimed it towards the back of the 360 to keep hot air from gathering up there... since I see now that others have advised that, I suppose I had a good idea lol

From what I have heard/read Nyko has since solved the melting problem with the EX cooler. I cant confirm this because I dont own one. I do know however that the first generation Nyko Intercoolers (Non EX) can cause melting problems like mine and many others.
