Wow, quite a problem. Huh... Went back to 1.5 and it still doesnt work eh? That really does sound like a hardware defect. If you have a VERY steady hand, you could try opening up the drive, remove the UMD if one is in it, and push down on the lever near one of those black spike like things with a thinner, non metal object. If you looking at it from the back, its a little below and to the right of the right black thing at the top of the drive. Now watch what happens. Does somethin get in the way? Is somethin actually physically broke? Does the laser light up? Does it do anything at all?

I did that and nothing happens, I'm starting to think it must be a hardware problem because I checked around out of curiousity and everywhere that sells the UMD drives say they are basically plug n' play. Looks like I am going to have to replace it, I was pricing them on ebay and they aren't too bad. I don't know if it is a task I want to take on myself though. If you have any other thoughts I would appreciate any imput. Thanks!

Even though I havent actually opened a PSP myself, I dont think they are that hard to replace. But you better be careful because I read alot about people opening their PSPs and when they put it back to gather, the LCD wont light up! Dont want to make you paraniod but thats what I read. You could PM hodings91. He said he has one for sale.

Okay, maybe one of you guys can help me out here :
I bricked my PSP while upgrading to 3.03 OE-C. not really a problem seeing as I can still enter RECOVERY mode. However, when in RECOVERY mode I have access to all the options foud in RECOVERY mode, except when trying to run progam at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP.
I tried the Recovery folder found in 3.02 OE-A, added the 1.5 eboot and renamed it update. When choosing the option to run program my PSP just freezes. I also tried it using this Winstaller but it gave me the same results. PSP just freezes and turns off.
So, does anybody know what I'm doing wrong ?
All help is appreciated :)

use recovery winstaller again, dont swap any eboots either.

Okay,
I re-formated the MS. ran the Winstaller and directed it to F: (my psp). It installed all the files needed. I reboot the PSP while holding R and get into the recovery mode menu (purple background) then when I selct option 3) run program..... it just stays like that for about ten seconds and then shuts down, it doesn't even attempt to read from the MS.

I'm on 3.10 OE-A' and need to goto 3.03 OE-C for modding purposes. Do I need to go to 1.50 or can I simply just use the 3.03 OE-C installer?

Hey, So if I go buy a brand new PSP right now I can use this firmware or do I need to track down a used PSP with a 1.5 or a 2.7xse firmare.

You'll need a PSP that can be downgraded to 1.5 such as 2.80 or lower for a non GTA downgrade and a 2.81-3.03(maybe 3.10 IDK) for a GTA downgrade. A GTA downgrade is one that needs an ORIGINAL unpatched grand theft auto liberty city stories disk with a 2.0 update on it. Its hard to find without spending a crapload so its best to get a 2.80 or lower.

Wow, you were lucky. Once everyone found out how important they are, its almost impossible to get one. People get them then sell them on Ebay.

WierdName you can downgrade 2.0 to 3.03(not 3.10)
nypsp if you have 303 kernal the 1.5 kernal eboots go in the GAME150
and if you have 1.5 kernal the 1.5 kernal eboots go in the GAME(look in the Readme for more info)
BaBaya it is that simple but you need one more step.
1) Plug in PSP.
2) Run the Winstaller
3) Run the flasher app in your psp
4) Its done..?

I managed. I used PSP brick fixer v2.0 to revert to 3.03 OE.

well i dont know about that, but there is new firmware on psp-hacks, that combine 3.03 oec and 3.10 oea, any one try that? also i have the same problem with Dungeon Seige, it freezes some time. any solution for game freezes? (do i turn the power off? (power is full charger) then restart the game?

Good Day hex. Question? Ive downloaded some games in torrents. using the Utorrents application
eq.(Ghost Rider [USA][UMDFull][English][PSP][www.emwreloaded.com].rar)= i have 3.03 OE-C fw. ive just tried putting the file on ISO, common, GAMES,GAMES150, GAMES330 folder but unfortunately its not showing on my psp? do i still need loader for this kind of game or do I put it on wrong folder. Pls Help! Thanks in advance
