Hi, im a total noob, ive got 3.03OE-C and was wondering why i would need the recovery, also do i need to add anymore files to get it (btw i used hexs winstaller), also is there a way i can clock my psp to 266mhz as a cso game is currently lagging, all help is appreciated, thanks.

im having some trouble playing ISOs on 3.03OE-C, ive created the ISO folder in the root of my memory stick but cant find the game, i have a demo disc inside my psp is that the reason why, i have also deleted all the setup files from the winstaller, can somebody help?

Can somebody help me please? I've posted a thread and i didnt get any reply. I installed the Wininstaler with 3.03 OE-C FW, i runned a game and i got an error: the game could not be started (80010002). Did anybody had the same problem? pls

3 yes you can run original umds
It's rachet and clank(not clank and rachet) it does work in 3.03 oe-c or 3.10 oe-a2 but you need to change the cpu speed to 266 or 333.(look in the recovery)

jaywong Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 is not working.(it's a bad dump) and I think there is a good one out now.
s4forlife recovery is to save you psp from a brick.(look in the recovery menu to change the cpu clock speed)
Where are you looking for the game?

Juan2320, thanks for the reply. I thought I needed to upgrade to 2.71 first then go down to 1.5. I currently have 2.50. What is the best way for me to get to 3.10 oe?

If you have a 2.5 then yes you need to upgrade to 2.71(not 2.71 se-c) then downgrade to 1.5 and up to 3.10 OE-A.
Search for a dwongrading thread.(not here)
you need to be in 1.5 psp to update to 2.71 se-a or 3.10 OE-A.

I had 3.03 Oe-A then i upgraded to 3.03 Oe-B and it said to put the boot files in the 150 file ("GAME150") but i had a GAME271 file so i just changed the name.(I think this is because when i upgraded from to Oe-A from 1.50 i was using devhook to emulate firmware 2.71.
Now when i try and load anything (UMD, ISOs, or Apps) I get as far as the white screen that says PSP and beneath Playstation Portable, iu think this is significant because in firmware 1.50 it didn't say playstation portable beneath just a white screen with PSP. and then it will reboot and the system software is 3.03 OE-B
Any ideas

Where can I find a good version of 2.71 firmware update to download? I found one but it won't unzip. I found the easy 2.71 downgrader, but I need to upgrade to 2.71 firmware first? Right?

Ok I found a 2.71 firmware 8046_EBOOT.PBP. Then I made an UPDATE folder in the GAME Folder. Then I turned on the PSP and went to the memory stick under GAME folder and pressed X. It says There are no games. Any suggestions???

Somebody please help me! A friend of mine upgraded from 2.71 to 3.03 OE-A, now I want to have 3.03OE-C in order to change speeds (like, to play Ratchet&Clank), downloaded winstaller but gives me error 8002014C. Have tried changing Kernel to 1.5 but it shuts off when ran. Should I downgrade to 1.50 (recovery)? any help will be much appreciated... thanx

hey hex I have been reading this whole thread..... I got a psp for xmas the firmware is 2.71. I want to go to 3.03oec to play iso's. I do NOT know what motherboard is in there. Can you advise me on what to do to get to 3.03oec. I do not want to brick the psp.

Hi,
I just got a PSP 1.5, and was just looking around to make sure how to make the most out of it. I'v read all this thread so I'm now convinced that installing a OE firmware is the best way to use both homebrew applications and UMD isos.
But as I'm a real noob, I'm not sure I understood everything so I prefer to ask before doing anything:
- what's best to install: 3.03 OE-C or 3.10 OE-A? I saw that hexit you prefer 3.03 OE-C, but what exactly are the differences?
-should I also install the 1.50 recovery installer?
- can I still use Media Manager to manage my videos, musics, etc...or could it have some compatibility problems? (I know it must sound stupid..but as I said, I'm a real noob...)
- the 2 options to play UMD isos are: Without UMD disk and No-UMD on, or with a UMD in and No-UMD off (best solution), is that correct?
- is any UMD emulator or devook needed to play isos or we just need to place the isos in the right folder? (I'm pretty sure it's the later, just want to make sure...)
- will all the standard emulators (for SNES, MAME, etc...) work as well, and where do we put the ROMS?
Ok, I think I asked everything...I also want to thank you Hex.. for everything that you do, you're really great!

Hi, I just used the 3.03 OE-C winstaller on my PSP 1.5 (thanks for the installer, it is great), and it worked fine. But as the end I know I`m supposed to have the folders ISO, GAME and GAME150 on the memorystick, but I just have my original GAME file (containing the folders 303oeflasher and 303oeflasher% + my old homebrew folders).
I`m not sure if I did something wrong, or if I just need to create these folders myself?

hi i think you have to format your mem stick for the folders to apear themselves but im only a newbie myself

Thanks to both of you for the fast answer, I formatted the memorystick and it worked. But is it normal that the ISO folder is not in the PSP folder? (It is directly on the root with MP_ROOT, MUSIC, PICTURE, PSP and VIDEO). I also have a GAME303 folder in PSP, what is it used for? Finally I don't have the browser anymore in the SYSTEM folder (but I saved it before formatting), can I put it back?
