Hi rhinogolf, what firmware are you currently running, you need to be on either 1.50 or an open edition firmware (eg,3.30oe or 3.40oe) to be able to upgtrade to the 3.52 m33 ,also if you are running one of the open edition firmwares make sure your game folder homebrew is set to 1.50 kernel in your recovery menu,to access your recovery menu first turn off your psp by holding the off button to the top for a few secs as you do so,then as you turn your psp back on turn on as normal but hold the top right trigger as you do so,the recovery menu will then boot up- go into configuration and you will see the game folder homebrew option on the screen- make sure its set to 1.50.
exit the rcovery menu and use the winstaller to upgrade to 3.52 m33,its foreign but pretty easy to use, just let it install the correct folders to your psp( mine is removable drive f on my comp), unplug the psp from comp and go into the memory card on your psp there you should now have the correct update-just follow the instructions and 3.52 m33 will be installed.

hi,no if you have 3.40oe on then leave it on and tick the 2nd box not the 1st.Two things that may be your problem- i think the winstaller is zipped up when you downloaded it-did you right click the file and extract the winstaller from the zip,it wont work unless you extract it out of its zip folder- i extracted mine with winrar. 2ndly,the recovery menu setting i mentioned, make sure that the game folder homebrew setting in the configuration is set to 1.50 kernel.,cos if it is set to 3.40 kernel it wont install.

i am hoping there will be a 3.52 winstaller coming out but I thought i would try it myself... where is this 3.52 m33-4 update you guys are talking about, on psp-hacks? I found it but the readme doesn't say how to install it! I guess to put the update in game150, but there is another folder called seplugins and I don't know where to put that.

Seplugins goes to the root of your memory stick. Not sure what 3.52 M33-4 updates though.

oh jeez good thing I kept reading, i was about to install M33-4 update patch onto 3.40 OE-A. Here's a more simple question.
Can I run the winstaller on the first page of this thread which updates it to 3.51 M33, then download this file (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1231) to update it to 3.52 M33-4? Not sure if that file is a patch or not, but remember it is 3.52 so I don't know if I can use it on 3.51. Thanks guys.

If you want a partial brick go ahead (dont care to copy and paste that link honestly). Pretty straight forward, you must be on the firmware to update it lol.....update to 3.52-1 first, then feel free to update to any of the updates for the firmware. 3.52-3 is really all you need, as 3.52-4 only adds the ability to use more versions of pops. Not really a must have unless there is a psx game that refuses to run.

Rhinogolf if you havent yet sorted it,then plug your psp in to the comp via your usb and enter usb mode, open the winstaller keep selecting next, then tick the 2nd option down which is to update from 3.40oe to 3.52 m33,then select next, choose your removable drive from the list it gives you(usually its removable drive f) then click install, and it will install all the relevant installers into the correct place on your psp.then knock your psp off usb mode go to your games option, access the memory card and your 3.52 m33 installer will be there, just enter into it and follow the install instructions it gives you.

i know we are on a winstaller thread but the big news that has just out is a psp unbricker that has been put together by noobz and a few other developers, user reviews are very very positive and all say it works who have tried it,you apparently need a spare battery and a spare memory stick and it will unbrick your psp. this is an absolute godsend by the sounds of it- check it out.

I accidentally updated from 3.51 M33-7 to 3.52 M33-2 without going to 3.52 M33 first. PSP won't start other than on recovery, which way to go now to get things started again?

Hmmm, I didn't find a recovery folder so I created one, put the 1.5 eboot into it and nothing happening. I do see the 1.5 kernel option on recovery though, but as soon as I exit recovery the PSP won't start.

This pandoras battery unbricker is even better than i first thought,i have just read more on it,not only is it an unbricker but its a universal downgrader,it basically will downgrade any firmware psp by bringing it back to life as a v 1.50 ,via the jigkick battery, this must be a real kick in the teeth for sony!!

hwy... this winstaller works on official 1.50 right? There's no readme.txt obviously, but if you run this .exe on your 1.50 will it contain all the necessary files/information? I've only updated from OE using hexitnow's winstallers before, now I have a 1.50 official so I'm not sure.

I have used the pandora battery on a 3.52 stock PSP and can confirm it works 100%. Downgraded it to 1.5 FW in less than 5 mins!!!! Installed M33 3.52 FW and performed the M33 Version 4 update. PSP works perfect! SONY probably doing back flips about now (Slams head into wall repeatedly).
