Now, all I need is a PS3 Iso Loader and I'm good!!!!

Finally, I did a hack, I might be the first 13 year old to do a ps3 hack??!!!

who knows!!!

P.S. If you have a ps3 iso loader, I am willing to pay $80 USD for it and what I just said is against Afterdawn.com rules, please don't suspend or delete my account, I am still kind of a newb.

Gracias, Adios De Amigos!!!

AFAIK, all you need really is a SATA 2.5" to 3.5" adapter.

Im looking into switching my hard drive out, and installing Linux but just a lil hesitant.($600) Man, 500gb!?!!? I think i might have to do something to top that, cuz I wasnt thinking of putting in that big of a hard drive in mine.13 yrs old, you have to brag on that one a lil. When I was 13, I was still running out of breath blowin in those nintendo cartridges. But when you think about it, why not put the biggest one you can inthere. And it may come in handy if Sony actually does what they say they may do with this playstation store. flOw is ok. No other game is quit like it which makes it unique, but different subject, different thread.

So basically what you are saying is I dont have to have a notebook hard drive? I have a 250gb (7200) hard drive and all i need is that adapter to go from a sata 3.5 to a 2.5 to connect to the PS3? I saw the other instruction that you need that type of notebook.

http://www.gamersreports.com/article/43/

and it says you should use a 5400rpm harddrive. has anybody else been successfull with any other method?

(Ps3News) [...]
Ferrox is'nt going to be released , there was 2 movie of it just to "show off" to other homebrew/scene dev'ers and for entertainment purposes . The person who made Ferrox signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) so they cannot release the loader itself since they work as a licensed developer.

For a PS3 iSO Loader, you'll likely have to wait until sometime after March 23 for a Paradox one... or rumor has it on iRC EFNet #PS3News someone plans to release one during the second to third week in March (just prior to the EUR PS3 release).

canuckerz, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

HD goes to "High Definition", and HDD "Hard Disk Drive"

No...no.... what I mean is guide or steps to connect external HDD to PS3 and make PS3 "recognise" the external HDD connected and not to guide or ways to connect the external HDD to PC.

Ist very easy! You just have to format the Ext.HDD in FAT32 and the PS3 will find it. Windows only can do partitions in Fat32 with a size of max. 32 GB. If you want bigger ones you have to use a freeware tool like h2format!

Installing HDDs on ps3 is good , but how are you Going to store Files with sizes more than 4GB ( maximum File size available on FAT32 ) , some PS3's ISOs or Bluray Movies For Ex. ?

As most of the people know FAT32 can be recognise by Linux but it can only have a limit of 4GB but too bad PS3 games normally is much bigger than that so you are not able to use that format.

And... I've just found a way to do it. And these are the steps:

1. If you have backup the disc to get the ISO using Linux, the ISO files will be at the directory "root" in the internal HDD of the PS3.

2. Time to get your HDD ready. Do a partition using Acronis Disk Director Suite (thats what I use) with your PC.It will ask you what format you want the partition to be. Select EXT3. Do not ask me where to get this software, juz search for it in google(that's what most people say).

3. After you done with step 2, your PC will only show you FAT32 and NTFS format but will not show you EXT3, so you are not able to see the partition you've created. In order to see, search for another software, Explore2fs, this will let you "see" whats inside the EXT3 partition using PC.

4. Connect your ext. HDD to your PS3, Linux will detect the EXT3 partition you've created, so what to do next is to copy or cut the ISO files to your ext. HDD. After its done, rename the ISO file extension to anything (e.g. *.txt) but not .ISO cos Explore2fs cannot export files with ISO extension.

5. Disconnect the HDD and pluck it in the PC again, use Explore2fs to export the ISO (txt format or etc.) to your PC. After you have done that rename it back to ISO extension and thats it you have you ISO in your PC!!

Please let me know if you have better ways to do it...

Right now I still have a problem, some forum says for example Final Fight 3 have the capacity about the size of a DVD but when I burn the ISO into DVD using Nero and insert the disc to my PS3, it shows data disc and I'm not able to start the game. So is it really possible to get the game going by using the DVD created, if so please advice on the steps.

Thank you.

I don't understand why Sony made it so that the PS3 can't read HDD not formatted in FAT32... it can't be technical limitations.
Maybe a firmware update to fix it?
