Need help backing up Casino Royale!

Am using latest version of ripit4me and DVDecrypter.

Ripit4me runs for about 5 minutes (cleaning up the bogus IFO files I guess) and then DVDecrypter starts up and copies the first (VOB?) file to the hard drive, but after that, still at about 1%, it stalls and locks up my PC.

According to other postings this approach should work, but not sure why it isn't for me.

Any suggestions on what to try?

I have an earlier version of AnyDVD 5.3.2.1. Can someone tell me where to go to get the version 6.1.3.0 or better w/o going to the Slysoft website.

Thanks Garmoon, I was able to rip it to my hd.

That gave me the list of titles, including title 1 which is all i usually burn.

Using dvdshrink, I analyzed title 1 and backed it up as I normally do, and Nero kicked in for the burn.

The copy plays on my computer dvd player, but will not play on my tv system dvd player...says it cannot play the disc.

Any thoughts? I still have the ripped disc on my hd, but the original is gone.

Just curious, what seemed to be the problem with RipIt4Me? At what stage did it fail and what rip mode did you have selected?
I just did Casino Royale with the 1.7.0.99 beta. The DVD Decrypter rip took about 19 minutes and the processing took another 8. There were 100 IFOs and 92 bogus VTS had to be removed. The files (full DVD) opened in Shrink with the quick analysis (showing the files are DVD compliant). I'll finish the backup later in Rebuilder. This one was similar to Saw 3, but I saw nothing that should stop RipIt4Me from doing the job. One thing that might be disconcerting to some users is the counter on DVD Decrypter. With it starting off slow and inserting dummy sectors DVD Decrypter initially reads several hours to do the rip, but that quickly changes. At first glance it looks like DVD Decrypter has frozen with the speed reading 0. On closer inspection it's still slowly moving along at a few KB/s. Those familiar with Decrypter overlook the time remaining for a while to see what the program is really going to do.

Others are doing Casino Royale with RipIt4Me, so I doubt it being a common problem with the software.

Seems to be a pattern emerging. RipIt4Me does a clean Full DVD Rip. DVDFab Decrypter is getting the job done. AnyDVD doesn't work with Shrink. AnyDVD plus Recode for movie only. And once again Slysoft says, "Gee, AnyDVD and CloneDVD are made for each other."

RipIt4Me to rip, DVD Shrink to transcode, and ImgBurn to burn is all that's needed and that pack is all freeware. With the version of Shrink supporting ImgBurn, the job can be done in a seamless process, the ripped files open in Shrink, Shrink transcodes and opens ImgBurn to burn the output. Here's a guide that covers the process with a link for the Shrink that supports ImgBurn included.

@dickgroff
What media did you burn the disc too? Burn speed?
Firmware up to date on the burner?

@biga76
Buy AnyDVD or use the freeware listed in this thread to rip this one.

@Gemo
Using the latest version of RipIt4Me and FixVTS?
You can also try DVDFab Decrypter

@PacMan777
Just my theory and haven't checked Slysoft forum lately but I don't think there will be any updates to help AnyDVD work w/ Shrink on these Sony's.
Can I blame them not really since they've moved on to cracking BluRay & HD and Game Jackal.
On their part probably makes better business sense - $$$$ wise. Customer wise well yeah will piss some customers off definitely.
Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll do the right thing and update AnyDVD to work w/ Shrink on these.

Just got done thanks to a very helpful member!

Used Ripit4ME newest version with built in VOB junk remover so you don't need the VST remover. Used DVD Decrypter to remove the CSS and ARCCOS protection. I was going to refun the 24 bucks I paid for it out of frustration. Move came out great by turning into ISO using DVD Shrink. Burned at 8X.

If you paid anything for the software mentioned you got ripped off. It's freeware, readily available around the internet. If you'd followed the link I supplied, you would have gotten the best versions of the software and an easy guide to go along with it.

As for Slysoft, like any retail company they're out there for the buck. AnyDVD as the overall cure has become AnyDVD with CloneDVD. Nice if it works for other software, but I've not heard of any refunds of the AnyDVD purchase for Shrink users. The one thing I've heard happening of late is credit card fraud departments monitoring purchases of the illegal software.

Hey all.

I've ripped the movie only to my HDD via AnyDVD and when I go to Shrink to compress the movie it won't let me compress it. It just stays at 99% and doesn't let me do a custom compression.

Anyone know where I might be having problems?

DVD Shrink and AnyDVD aren't working well with the new Sony releases. You may want to try another ripper. I just used RipIt4Me with good success. This is a more difficult release, similar to Saw 3. Try this package.

I appreciate the response PacMan and that guide looked too good to be true. And guess what? It was.

As I was installing the AIO program I received a message at the end saying

"All-In-One Installer v3.0 has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

Analysis Results.ad476483: This file contains invalid data or file could not be found.

You will have to run this utility again to completely install All-In-One Installer v3.0"

I had most of the programs already downloaded so I went ahead and uninstalled them before I did the AIO download. I've tried to rerun the install process 3 times each with the same message at the end and NO programs being installed.

Not sure what I'm missing but I really appreciate the help you've given me and all the members of this forum.

Just in case, here's the link for the AIO site:
http://www.invisionplus.net/forums/index...ers&showtopic=7
You may want to try the download from there.

The guide goes step by step and works with most systems. Out of curiosity, what software got installed and what didn't? What operating system are you using?

No mate, you didn't read it right. I was going to return the DVD Casino Royale for the 24 I paid for it. LOL

------

To burn the movie you're going to need to use Ripit4ME latest you don't need the VST removers since it's got one built in now. Just load the PSL file into DVD Decrypter and let it do it's job. After 17 minutes your movie is ready for DVD Shrink.

This worked for me:

1) DVDFab Decrypter rip Full Movie to HD

2) Shrink (main movie only) then DVD Decrypter to burn.

Have never encountered a problem using this method. Using Verbatim DVD-R

LOL Mate, I believe you forgot to write it right. Ever think of obeying rules of communication. It usually refers to something you've mentioned. You neglected to mention it, the Casino Royale DVD, anywhere in your comment.

You've been lucky in your movie selection and the point in time you've chosen to do your backups. DVD Fab Decrypter was a week or so in catching up when the heavier copy protections first came along (Saw 3: Unrated, Region 1). Talladega Nights was an intro and then the industry came out full blast with Saw 3 and now Casino Royale is similar to Saw 3 as far as the large number of bogus material used to try to mess up the recording software.

DVDFab Decrypter is a good program, even if Fengtao is a bit slow upgrading it sometimes. It's one of the programs I keep for ripping.

Good choice in software, but all a person needs to do is choose one of the file rip modes and use the 1 Click mode. No need to do anything with PSL files, the program does it. The software does the rest. The FixVTS code is now incorporated in RI4M. I caught your drift, but there is no such thing as a VST remover. FixVTS is more along the lines of correcting errors in IFO and VOB files. I have to applaud your equipment though. I thought my PC was quick, but somehow you "smoked" my rip time. It took the DVD Decrypter rip portion almost 19 minutes to do that segment alone. With the rest of the RI4M processing for compliance, it took almost 9 minutes more. There was a lot of trash to weed out. But somehow you managed to do the job in 17 minutes when it took me 28 using the same software (with a dual core AMD @ 2.8GHz). Good job.

Ah my friend, it's called an Intel core 2 duo E6300 @ 2.4 ghz. OC. Better architecture.

Just one problems come up with my dvd. The quality isn't as great as other movies I've burned. Could it be the compression was too much and I didn't deselect the extra unneeded audio channels and subtitle crap?

BTW thank you for the applaud.

You're welcome. Glad you got-er-done. ;)

The poor quality might have something to do with the architecture of the PC you're using. ;) Mine came out great. LOL Couldn't resist a bit of humor. It's probably the software if you used the Quality Settings in Shrink. Did you adjust the AEC setting? Compression was high for this one. This one is best done in movie only or movie + menu with transcoding software. I used Rebuilder Pro with CCE SP (encoder) and the results are similar to the excellent results I've gotten with my AMD PC in the past. I'll have to give credit to the software though. LOL

Has anyone tried to upgrade AnyDVD to AnyDVD HD? the specs on www.slysoft.com say that AnyDVD HD will remove any encryption on any HD DVD. So can anyone verify this myth? thanks!

I wish I could. Blu Ray and HD DVD are still a bit pricey for many of us. If you have Blu Ray or HD DVD, Slysoft has a HD trial you can use to see how it works. You can verify the truth of the claims and report back to us (poor folks). ;)
