i see there's been (as predicted) a gazillion posts in this thread since i last dropped in. And guess what....(for Region 2 anyway), DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.8.6 tore thru it like butter, no messing with an endless slew of other programs/settings. I just did Full Disc mode, followed by good ole DVD Shrink, job done, then i can sit back and just watch the movie instead of messing about

Pretty much the same in Region 1. Using the right programs in the right combinations and there's no problem. RipIt4Me and DVDFab Decrypter have been working for about any transcoding and burning setup. AnyDVD has been more problematic. Slysoft said earlier that any ripping on new protections should be done with AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 set to DL. If you have CloneDVD2, why bother? ;)

Can you help to enlighten me...
Right now I am backing up Rocky Balboa, I do not want the Movie & DVD previews so I want to blank them. After blanking them I will open up PGCEdit to delete uncalled PGCs then use FixVTS... My reasoning is by deleting uncalled PGCs, I also wish to delete the FBI warning using PGCEdit
FixVTS will need to clean up the dvd and fix my dvd backup after removing those unwanted pgcs and deleting the FBI warning...
What is redundant about processing my backups this way??
The double use of FixVTS is redundant, but probably necessary with all the editing you like to do. Bypassing annoying PGCs is also an option in RipIt4Me preferences. You can also select Make DVD jump to menu on insertion in the 1-Click window. For what you want, I open RipIt4Me and open the DVD in 1-Click. After the initial analysis, I would select Make DVD jump to menu and Movie + Menu as the rip mode (movie only is also available) and select Next. Once the files open in DVD Shrink I would then expand and check the menu to see if the FBI warning is in the menu. Sometimes I've found them in Extras and sometimes the Menu. No editing was necessary for the Casino Royale menu. One could, but the menu doesn't contain any of the annoying warnings. If you don't save menus, then no editing would be necessary. I saved a low content black screen as the Still Image in Shrink. I use Still Image in compression settings to blank any unwanted material. You can also edit out unwanted audio and subtitles in Full Disc backup by unchecking them. Then I click the Backup and proceed with the burn.
RipIt4Me with DVD Shrink to edit and transcode along with a supported burner is all that's needed. I use the revised version of Shrink. So I have ImgBurn as a supported burner as well as Nero. That's a much more streamlined process than what you use. I don't need to shift programs for editing or run FixVTS after the initial RipIt4Me processing. I have no need for PGCedit with this method. You might save a few KB to MB with your method, but I doubt enough to make a noticable difference. Using this method I set up a burn with Shrink at 70% compression for Casino Royale. That's easily "do-able" with Shrink using the Quality Settings. That's better than about 53% compression for the movie in Full DVD with all audio and subtitles. Total time for the entire backup process was about 1 hour. It would have been much faster but Casino Royale had about 100 bogus VTS to deal with and the rip took about 28 minutes. DVDs with lighter protection take about 10 to 15 minutes less.
