get what is known as the recovery .U will find it on the first page on this thread and use that to go back to 1.50

oh ok, well thats good to know.
i dont want to go back to 1.5 because everything is working fine and i can play the latest games.
i just wanted to make sure i havent done anything permenant to my psp thats all.

well after reading lots of threads on the site all day.
Im not sure what to do and would like some help please.
Shall i out my psp back to 1.50 and if i do is there a chance it might brick it?
or shall i keep the 3.30 OE-A?
If i keep it what happens when it comes to going up another version.
Any help would be great.

keep it,since youre able to customize the topmenu.rco on it its the same as 3.03OE-C or even better
when a new custom firmware comes out,than just simply upgrade like u did before to go to 3.30OE( you dont have to go back to 1.5 to upgrade)

I'm new to custom firmware just installed 3.30 OE-A. I was running devhook before. Anyway can someone point me to a good guide to this firmware that would have features and how to use them such as the recovery mode, no umd, ect.
I can get my iso's,cso's running I just don't know what else I can do with this.

I followed the instructions to the book (keep in mind this was the 3rd DarkAlex version I was going to install, so I'm past the "noob" stage. Well so I thought)
I copied the oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME150. Moved the 150.PBP and 330.PBP files to oeupdmaker. Ran the program. Copied the 330oeflasher and 330oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME150, moved the "DAXR" (or is it "DATA"? not sure now, its 5:30 am) file to 330oeflasher. And then I ran the program again.
My batery was on 85% and charging.
Everything whent well untill the 3.30 were extracting..... :(
It went up to about 6% and then it said it was finished.
Press X to shutdown. Reboot your PSP manualy.
And there it was...the green light every PSP owner is so afraid of....boy am I pissed at myself!!!!!!
Okay, so I'm about 99.99999% sure I bricked my PSP. The thing I'm asking you guys is.....WHY!!!!???
I don't understand it? What whent wrong?? I'm so pissed I don't even concider buying myself a new PSP!!!Not untill Sony can fix it for far more cheaper. Whats the chance of it happening again? And what the hell whent wrong???
P.S. Just to make that 0.000001% sure my PSP is bricked, what else can I try? I took out the batery for about 5min, put it back in again. did not work
Change the memorycard (I know i know:) but I was desperate!!!) it did not work.
I tried holding the R1 button....smae storie
The only thing I noticed was when I hold the powerswitch the psp goes of in about 10sec. When I only hold it up until its on, it stays on for about 20sec. is this normal? is there hope?

wel..it seems you have done everything right..
from wich firmware were u upgrading?
where did u get the 1.5 am 3.30 eboots from(since it stopped by extracting of the 3.30 eboot,maybe it was not a valid one..)

well not really if u didnt have the recovery on or u cannot access it from holdin the r trigger that means ur doomed .There isnt much you can do.Try holdin the r trigger.
one thing i learned is having the recovery on before i upgrade because once it was bricked and because i had the recovery i was sweet

i have a 2.71 ta-082. so i use easy installer to downgrade to 1.5 then use another installer to upgrade to 3.30?

I got a 3.30 normal firmware. I just bought my psp. I wanted to know if I can install the 3.30oe_A or 3.40oe_A.Or do i have to downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.30custom firmware. Will this custom firmware play psx and psp iso games.

Sorry dude. No downgrading for you. You can only downgrade if you have 3.03 or less firmware until Dark Alex (DAX) comes out with a downgrader but I wouldn't hold your breath. Take your PSP back and get a different one since it is still new. I did that and the new one had 2.70 firmware. I loved my PSP before but it is even better now that I have it downgraded.
I didnt do it... unless its something good. Then I did it. Props to DAX. He is my idol!

3.40 oe-a is way better than 3.30 oe-a u can use any topmenu so screw 3.30oe-a go to 3.40 oe-a

hi guys... i have just purchased a new psp.... with preloaded 2.81 firmware and TA-082 mobo...... ihave studied many forums and sites for downgrading my psp to 1.50 so that i could upgrade it to Dark AleX's latest firmware 3.40 OE-A or any best one that could run homebrew application on my psp..... i just came up with one solution that is provided by Noobz! for ver. 3.03 with the help of unpatched GTA:Liberty City Stories UMD.......... but guys the problem is i cant find such umd here in india ........ please can u help me with getting a umd or giving me a solution without this umd......... is there any other reliable downgrader for 2.81 or 3.03....

can someone help please? i know it's asked all over the thread but I'm just making sure (100% making sure) that I'm going to do right... I have 3.03 oe-c fw on my psp. i have custom font and waves... do i have to recover to 1.5 and then go to 3.40 oe? and also, what's the biggest difference/s between the two fws? thanks a whole lot!

no you dont have to, the installation will overwrite everything including the flash0 and flash1,
just be sure to follow the directions to install 3.40OE-A EXACTLY
i dont know of many diff other than some security update and a bug fix, but u can get that using the 3.30OE-A' update

hi guys i am goin to buy the psp tomorrom and i want to play iso games, So let me clear some of my questions...
1. Do i need to buy psp 280 or under if i dont want use the gta exploit to downgrade the psp? ANd use the easier method to downgrade.
2. if i want to play iso game do i need to downgrade to 1.5 first then upgrade to 3.40oc or watever u call it?
3.Do i need to buy an extra memory to play these isos or will work fine with the default memory that came with the new psp?

Yes... you can downgrade. You can downgrade directly to 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.40 OE-A. Go here to download the files you need to downgrade...http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/996. The best thing with that firmware is that you don't need the GTA disk.
