Yup as long as u installed it correctly. Create the ISO folder in the root of your memory stick(root is the place where PSP folder is located) Just drop your iso/cso files there and it should appear in the Game menu in the XMB

you need the UMD, and it has to have update version 2.00 on it, this is an unpatched version

I'm the newest of Newbies. I just barely bought a PSP. Unfortunatley I signed up with PSP blender, thinking that I would just be able to load PSP games onto the system as they advertise. So far, I downloaded one game (PSP NHL 2007), but have no idea how to get it to work. I tried everything I can think of, and then I landed here. To load PSP games onto the PSP, do I need to change the Firmware? (I'm currently running 2.81). Any help would be appreciated. I'm completely lost.
Thanks,
RD

Thanks, I'll check this out. I got sucked in by some endorsement on CNET, which I thought was at least partially credible, but apparently not. I'm not even sure what an ISO is, but I assume that's what I'm trying to download through PSP Blender (if you can even say that, since they just link me to some other site for downloads).

I have recently upgraded to 3.40 OE-A. I am having a situation where some games will work fine from the ISO folder and others wont. The ones that don't work are like Dragon Ball Z, Pirates of the Carribean. When I have these on the memory stick, I can see the graphics but when i click on it to play, i get the intro screen and then it turns black and eventually i'll have to shut the PSP off to start over. Some games i put in the iso folder when i go on the PSP and I click to view my memory stick, it will hang unless i delete the recently added game off the stick then its fine. Weird.. Anyway, anyone know how to fix this?

Now i place it in:

This should be correct right?
But i can't run both PSX Eboots that i've downloaded!

Darkt - try playing with the No UMD setting and having a UMD in the drive...
Is there any chance of No UMD ever working for all games? (see my previous posts re broken UMD drive)

BigSlick-
Yes i played with the noumd switch. I tried it with it enabled and disabled (with a UMD) in the drive and it still did the same thing. I have heard people talking about clearing out the f1 bios area, but I'm not sure how to do that and if that would help me out with my issue.

i assume you own a psp, first you need to find out what system firmware is on it.
if its 3.03 or lower your good to go for doing all the homebrew and psp customization

Ouch...Buddy..homebrew is totally not an option right now..
First you need to "downgrade" from 3.50 to 1.50 which ISN'T POSSIBLE at this time..so you gotta stick to playing original UMD's..sorry..

damn 3.50? fawk thats the latest sony firmware, and no its not the same.
3.03 can be downgraded to 1.5, then to the custom DAX firmwares that allow you to play downloaded games and such. homebrew is just stuff like snes emulators and such. theres hope for 3.30 and 3.40 to be downgraded soon, but i have no idea about 3.50
if you have a buddy you can trade with for hopefully 3.03 then thats awesome, otherwise your stuck playing UMD's for a while buddy

I heard from a friend who had 3.40 OE-A and he said that it messed up with the LCD because the resolution was too high. Is this true? Coz I'm planning to switch over to 3.40 OE-A because it has a higher resolution but if it causes problems... I'll just stick with my CFW for now.
psplife: Ceramic White 2.71 TA-082> 1.5> 3.03OE-C> installed custom themes> semibricked on the 3rd try> 1.5> 3.30OE-A> 3.10OE-A'> 3.03OE-C> 3.40 OE-A> 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33 update 4 > 3.71M33 > 3.71M33-3

A few questions if someone has the time:
1-Are PSP games that you download considered Homebrew?
2-I've got firmware 2.81. If I understand right, I'd need to downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade to one of these custom OE firmwares to play downloaded PSP games. Is that correct?
3-To play downloaded PSP games do I need any other software besides 3.40 OE-A?
4-Will 3.40 OE-A leave all of the other functions of my PSP intact (i.e. movies and photo viewing, wifi, etc.)?
5-Is there any other way besides getting an unpatched copy of GTA Liberty to downgrade from 2.81 to 1.5? (I've had a b* of a time trying to find a copy of GTA at a reasonable price; sure there are some on ebay, but they are pricey).
Thanks in advance for helping out this Newbie.

boggzy im not aware that the higher resolution is a problem.
redwingD
1.ehhh im not sure-ish if there considered homebrew, but yea you kinda can say they are...meehhhh
2.correct
3.no you dont, they go in a folder called ISO, then they play directly from the game menu
4.yes it will leave everything intact
5.you need to be on 3.03 to use GTA, so for your firmware there might be another way, look through the threads or google '2.8 downgrade' or something like that
