mrmcman is right you probably have a Japanese PSP or a imported one. Or you downloaded the Japanese Firmware instead of the US one. And with that blue screen problem you probably have some missing/corrupted flash files. it happens to me alot when i used to customize the themes.

I'm very interested in downgrading/upgrading to 3.40 OE-A, but I have a question about the firmware and running official UMD game discs. If a game required something higher then 3.40 firmware, would the custom firmware be able to still boot up a game that required at lesat 3.50?

dont worry about that, no games require 3.50 yet, and by the time they do 3.50 oe a will be out.

No, ok this is what happens, When i pre-brick because i try to change the xmb, i go back down to 1.50 and then i already have the 3.40 Oe installer on my psp so just in case somthing like that happens, so then i downgrade and then upgrade to 3.40 OE A but when it first starts up it's 1rst language for mr to choose is in Japanese and i go right and it has the pacific time as Tokyo Japan, ok and i keep going and it seys press O to save settings. So i did as soon as i finish i go into recover disable all 3 settings in advance and then i go to Registry Hacks and button assign is a O so then i change it to X and when i exit it shows the blue screen asking me to press O because of an internal error, but then after that it restore default settings to american and my buttons are normal and everything else is normal.

I'm thinking more in the long term more than now. I'm just debating if the custom firmware will continue to come out and not just abruptly stop one day, or if Sony releases something that can't be decrypted, or if new games slowly trickled out at the end of the PSP's lifespan after people got bored with releasing new firmwares. A lot of "if"s, but it's just at this point I have a TA-082 motherboard, and that means downgrading to 1.5 is a point of no return (or at least right now). Thanks for a such a quick response to my first question.

What i did was i replaced the image because i was'nt sure if i replace all of the files or not. cant you download these Bubble Aimated theme at http://www.xmb-psp.com/index.php?paged=5 and tell me what files to put on the flash0/vsh/resource?

i downloaded a Final release thing that had already converted icons and full themes and i gues tht my psp wont take customized xmb's.

if u want custom xmb that bad, just go back to 3.03 oe c. no conversion, just flash agent to free up space.

what firmware are you on now? coz i just ussually sse that error when I am on 1.5.

Can you upgrade from 3.30 OE-A to 3.40 OE-A
or
do you have to downgrade back to 1.50 then up to 3.40 OE-A?

OE is no longer going to be around so a group has been created to take over OE, that group is called La_Wusses we are creating new firmwares called EE(Enhanced Edition) We Will Have A New Firmware Soon
