The winstaller will put the 1.50 recovery files on your PSP, then you can run it from your PSP like a regular update. It should fix your problem, then re flash to 3.40 OE-A.

Hy guyz'

Just installed the 3.40 oe-a and i worked fine. But the problem is that any time i play games (e.g.fifa 2007) from my memo-stick, there seems to be a lag in the game, movement is not smooth and sometime freezes for just 100th of a second. Could this be a setting problem on my own part or the game is just corrupt, or the 3.40 oe-a was not propely installed?

Secondly, could somebody please give the correct settings/configuration for the homebrew fw (3.40 oe-a).

Thx in advance

I'm getting a strange error on this installer.
I ran the program and the files are copied to my psp. Currently running 3.30 OE-A

When I run 3.40 OE-A firmware install on my psp I get the following message:
The game could not be started (8002014c)

Anyone any idea?

Thxs!

@ SporrY :

please enter the recovering mode (while booting up ur psp hold the r trigger)and make following changes:

PSP RECOVERY SETTINGS

\CONFIG
Skip SCE Logo = ENABLED (Optional)

Hide Corrupt Icons = ENABLED

Game Folder Homebrew = 1.50 KERNAL

Autorun Program At /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP = DISABLED

Use NO-UMD = : ENABLED (If Game Wont Work Then Disable)
: DISABLED (If You Have A UMD In The Drive)

Fake Region = DISABLED

Free UMD Region = ENABLED

\ADVANCED
Plain Modules in UMD/ISO = ENABLED

Execute BOOT.BIN In UMD/ISO = DISABLED

Use ISOFS Driver Also In UMD-Inserted Mode = DISABLED

If all these still doesnt work, i am afraid you will have to reinstall he fw again.

good luck

u may have semi- bricked. down load the recovery installer (google) and recover to 1.50 then re-install 3.40 oe-a then back up ur entire flash0 (go to rcovery, advance, toggle usb flash0, then wen u get the screen highlight all the folders in recovery the copy and paste them to ur desktop) then re install ur theme.

Hy guyz,

Got a new problem of my own! :-(

I am running the 3.40 oe-A now the problem is when i try to enter the recovering mode my screen just turn black,(cant see anything but can hear.) and when i push the power button again, the Recovering mode show just for a split second and goes black again. But when i boot back into the PSP i can still play and use the other functions of the system. Just cant get into the recovering mode. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Secondly, how do i change the cpu speed if eventually able to enter (see) the recovering mode?

Thx .

WELL, if u cant get into recovery, upgrade to a newer custom firmware (like 3.51 M33) and then use the working recovery mode from the new CFW to recover back to 1.50 then just upgrade back to the FW u were on.

The problem is that when i press the R trigger, i can see that it is in the recovering mode, the only problem is that i just can see anything coz the screen is black. But when i press the power button again, it shows the recovering mode for a split second (damm, i am repeating myself again :-( ) and then goes black again (kinda hiding the the recovering menu!).

Now u said to use the "newer custom firmware". The question is, will i be able to see the installation progress when installing the CFW? The reason i am asking is i was trying to reinstall the previous custom FWs (3.30 oe-c & 3.40 oe-a) but since i could not see the options (the press x or r if u agree or not agress to it) available i had to abort it cos i do not want to brick my PSP.

Thanks for the info on the newer CFW. I will give it a try after i get a response to my question(s).

Another question, do u by chance know how to increase/decrease the cpu speed in 3.30 oe-c /3.40 oe-a and the newer CFW 3.51 M33? This is because whenever i play games, there (appears)to be a lag in the game progress. I am not quite sure if this has to do with the CPU speed....

To get rid of the "lag" if you want to call it that, go in to your recovery mode and turn the CPU up to 222. Or higher, but 222 usually works fine.

And the homebrew settings just change the kernel to 150.

Strange the black screen is showing up, im guessing your best luck it to just re-flash 3.40 OE-A. And when you get into the recovery mode you just go into the configuration to turn the CPU speed up.

Cool. I finally figured out the reason for the black screen in the recovering mode: All i did was to just use the brightness button and voila, i can now see my recovery mode!

Meaning i could also adjust the cpu speed! :-)

Now another question is: has someone tried the newer CFW 3.51 M33? And is it safe to install this FW on the 3.40 oe-a and if not satisfied go back to the previous CFW?

thx

Well it took a few hours to read through this thread, but it just goes to show that a little reading and patience you will sooner or later come across the answer you need.

My problem was the same as road42 that we were unable to get 3.03 oec updated to 3.4 oea. I used the easy installer (which was provided by this forum as well) but it still wouldn't work. Then a simple question by road42 and an even simplier answer from rhinogolf (changing the kernel to 1.5 in the start up recovery mode) put me (and road42) out of our homebrew miseries.

Good work fellas! Now my psp is updated with the minimum of fuss and all new iso's working a charm (opening sequence for transformers is quite cool by the way)

This is a good lesson for all other noobs (like myself) that just by spending a small amount of time reading the threads you will almost always (proberbly 99.9%) find what you need.

Good work fairboz in following the forum rules, unlike many other newbies who just make thread after thread without taking a little time to search for there answer.

MULTIPLAYER - you know the option to play against others remotely or wirelessly via a local ad hoc hook up! Well its greyed out... in other words I can't select it... its locked! I am trying to play against some friends via local ad hoc network! Is this something to do with 3.40 OE?

Just BRICKED my other PSP using the installer!

I tried to use the installer while DEVHOOK was on firmware 2.7 and nothing happened so I rebooted and choose firmware 1.5! Then I ran the installer again then ran the update and rebooted and it was installing it and running through the installer update code until it said PANIC... then is froze for about 10 mins so I turned it off and now all I get is: the green light comes on and then goes back off again by itself after a minute or so!

Anyone know what this will cost to repair?
