Dark_Alex made it so it scans for the correct DATA.DXAR so a winstaller won't accidently brick your PSP anymore.

what muppets i seen a few threads on here which says i was upgradin or downgradin wot ever and it wasent doing anything so i decided to turn my psp off now all i get is the power light and nothing else happens
i think this is so funny

Hi all,
About how long does the winstaller 3.40 oe-a take to install? I just d/l from the thread starter's link and double clicked on it. Now I got small window with little cursor blinking all over the place? like _ _ _ _ _ jumping on a blank console black screen?
I have 1.5 psp.

On ur psp go into USB mode and hook up ur psp to ur PC. then runn the winnstaller to put all the files on ur psps mem-stick. oncve its done. just run 3.XX Firmware Install from ur psp. 3.XX mean whatever CFW version ur installing.

Thanks for all the info especially to MidnightJ, now I can start playing several games without the UMD. Gonna buy one ori UMD but try to get Lumines (now a little bit more understand the PSP after spending some time at this great forum).
But until now couldn't get it in Jakarta, any friend from ASEAN countries could help ?

HI guys I am not a Noob but not an expert either. I run 3.03 firmware on 3 memory sticks on my PSP 1.50 original firmware..I installed the 3.40 OEA after formatting the 2 GB memory stick directly from PSP. I tried then to run TRANSFORMERS and it does not work...
Do I need a custom firmware for that game? Anyway I reverted to good old 3.03 firmware for now...

Download the winstaller 3.40 OE A and connect your PSP via USB to the PC. If the program does not see your PSP format your memory stick but using your PSP. I was having problems installing it but it then worked...still I prefere 3.30 as the transformers game I was trying to use on 3.40 did not work...but maybe then I need a custom firmware.

You just run this and it puts all the files on your memory stick to run the update.

im running 3.03 OE-C got the auto installer for 3.40 OE-A can i install straight from 3.03 OE-C or do i have to go back to 1.5 regards
