Oh, and one more thing... befor my configuration was 3.03 kernel.. and then I change it to 1.50 kernel before upgrading(it says on the readme file).. so now should I switch to 3.40 kernel or 1.50?
Thanks in advance

You only need GTA to downgrade.

I don't really get why people keep flashing their PSP's with themes and such, they brick them for pretty much a visual reason. God damn it, mod the damn thing so u can play free games on it, not for damn themes and shit, the only time you get to see the damn themes and icons is before you turn on the game, and thats pretty much it.
Must... Learn..... How to copy them..... Ughhhh! I died

I installed the winstaller on a 1.50 factory flashed PSP, and it works like a charm. It was so damn quick. I'm runing it now. In the tut, it says something about running an update, and there is also a corruted file beside the installer. Should I run anything else? My PSP is already running 3.40 OE-A, and I gotta tell you everybody, use your factory stock PSP card, the 32 meg one, it's quick as a flash. For as long as you are doing this on a 1.50 fw, then it will succeed, have your charger and batery charged to full, leave it all night, and format the mem stick prior upgrading. It is that easy.

Aslong as your system version displays 3.40 OE-A then there is nothing else to do. Have fun with your PSP!

Format your memory stick and it will create new folders on your PSP. You should see a folder called ISO. Put your PSP ISO's in there.
Then go under the Game section on your PSP, and select the memory stick. You should see your game. Make sure you have a Game UMD in your PSP when playing your ISO though.

Hi all, we just got a PSP as a present for my boy. Only thing it is too sophisticated for him so I hv to surf the information for all of this.
I can see my Firmware already 3.30 OE-A with TA-082 Mobo
Just needs some enlightment fr all the guru here :
1. Should I hv a UMD disc inside all the time to play game fr MS or only for certain game. in menu of game I saw 3 games but none of them can be played.
2. If we need the disc, should it be original Sony Game or just any UMD disc with or w/o game
3. As I understand I can upgrade straight to 3.40 OE-A by "3.40 OE-A Winstaller", right ?
3. If something go wrong can I just downgrade to 1.50 by using the file "1.50 Recovery Winstaller" downloaded fr this forums ?
4. What is GTA:LCS is it a game ? should I hv it for my downgrading or it is just needed for certain version of firmware (if I am not wrong for v 2.71) ?
Thanks..........

1) Have a game UMD, not movie, in your PSP when playing downloaded/backup PSP games. (.ISO,.CSO)
2) Orignal Sony game, not movie.
3) Yes this puts all the files necessary to upgrade to 3.40 OE-A, onto your memory stick. You then run the update like any other update.
3)Aslong as you can still access the recovery menu yes, but nothing will go wrong.
4) Yes GTA LCS is a game (Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories) you need the unpatched version of it 2.00 update on it. It can be used to downgrade a 3.03 version PSP. If you have higher then that there is currently a 3.50 downgrader.
And if you have 2.71 firmware, there are multiple downgraders, same with lower firmware (2.00,2.50/2.60 downgraders..)
Hope that helps.

Thanks Bro, as you said nothing go wrong. But only for future anticipation, read many of you downgrade to 1.50 so many times :
1. Why some of yu downgrade many times to 1.50, it hang or go slow after a while ?
2. Can I just use the "1.50 Recovery Winstaller" to straight downgrade to 1.50 ?
3. As now my PSP already at 3.40 OE-A, still I need the GTA disc to down grade to 1.50 ?
4. Why should I acces to the Recovery menu to downgrade ? any setting I hv to do b4 the downgrade process ?

Just a quick query...I have my PSP 1.50 with 2 memory sticks (4 gig and 2 gig) using the firmware 3.01 (I used the winstaller and worked all fine)> I now want to use the winstaller 3.04 just to see if I can play some new games that run on this firmware only....I remember that there was a deinstaller for the winstaller 3.01 (I found the link here on this website). Is there such a thing for winstaller 3.04 that does the opposite and brings all back to 1.50 or I just need to format the memory stick and that's it?
Thanks

1. Because people semi-brick their PSP's or they want to change to a lower custom firmware.
2. No, only if your using a custom firmware. You cannot downgrade Sony firmware PSP with a 1.50 recovery. Custom firmware only.
3. No, just use the 1.50 recovery.
4. You don't have to, but there is a auto-run for the 1.50 recovery, in the Recovery menu. I don't think you have to run it from there though. Actually people are probably saying that because if you semi-brick your PSP, you have to go to the recovery menu to access USB mode, which you can't when its bricked.

3.40 OE-A. No you do not need to downgrade, it will go from 3.03 OE-C to 3.40 OE-A.

There is no way to guarentee it will not brick your PSP. Aslong as follow the correct instructions for downgrading 3.50. (I mean like reading them over and triple checking) then you will be fine. But if you don't rename the right files or mess something up when your copying files, it will render your PSP useless. So just follow everything exactly, have 100% battery on the charger, and DONT turn your PSP off during the downgrade.
Then, once its downgraded, upgrade to 3.40 OE-A with this Winstaller and enjoy your PSP!
