apparently there is another type of cable which is a usb on one end and null modem on the other, this is according to someone on this forum some pages back and the guy in both maplins and peats who should be getting them in this week. i was enquiring because i have the same problem......i have a laptop.

hi brian just a big thanks for helping get my pvr working. who would have thought saving fav channels would make such a difference? while here my gfs starview has become scrambled any codes for nhell?any help as always appreciated..no luck on tool bar. thanks

Hi guys, i have a real starview box and on sunday we tried to update the firmware but it didnt work. I had 2 other real boxes done and they worked fine but for some reason this work just wont take the software update. it seems to have a problem staying on, it switches it self off and i fined it very hard to scan for channels. Anyone got any ideas

Those codes are correct, make sure you are entering them with the correct Provider ID 0x55

while you are there, do you know if the usb/null modem on sale in maplins will work on a laptop with only usb connections?

Hi Red05,
You can get the latest codes from your Replay Box.
Menu....Parental Lock....Goto Key Manager....Nagra...Select your Prov ID and the new codes should be there.
Glad your Replay Box is working again, I just took a gamble to see what wwould happen if I reloaded the channels and was suprised when it worked.

sorry to jump in dude but i got the two cables in maplin a few weeks back (@ ?50) and they worked fine with my laptop (old toshiba) so id say ull be fine.

these are working at the moment in dublin if this is where you are
with a name dub ken i assume thats where you are

i dont have a com port on the laptop so had to get both.
took a few mins to get the drivers for the null modem installed correctly but it was plain sailing from there! :)
