No necessarily... The 360 only uses its full power while it is play a full game... You should be fine though!

Newcloud...

There was no need for the smart ass remark... He asked a simple question... it is also a hard question to answer because he hasn't done any activities that will execute the 360s full power!

The Xbox360 has a 3 year warranty. Unless your seal is broken you can still send it in.

Nope I called them, they said my warenty was out and that it wasn't covered by the extended warenty because it wasn't a RED RING OF DEATH ISSUE,

In Fact I just called them again,And again same thing,I will have to pay to get it Fixed,They said it wasn't a red ring Issue it sounded like a Drive issue so that would not be covered by the Extended Warenty,

So in other words they used a crappy drive and want me to pay to replace it.

...that really doesn't sound right. A warranty is a warranty... I'll need to read the terms an conditions and see what it says. They'll screw themselves over if they honor one particular hardware failure and not a different one. I smell a class action lawsuit if this info is true.

Does anyone know where the terms and conditions of the new 3 year warranty can be located on the net?

EDIT: if worse comes to worse, then you should wrap your 360 in foil and a towel to try to get an RRoD. Those bastards wont be able to refuse you then.

Thanks for that link. I'm glad I now know that info. Well it's spelled out in plain English with the first question on the FAQ so I guess there is nothing that can be done. Since you've got nothing to lose you might as well try a forced RRoD.

So I got my replacement 360 today. I was so stocked because it was just in time for the Halo 3 Beta. When I pluged it in it worked to my suprise... (I have been sent 4 refurbished consoles already since January 14th that have all been DOA)

I played Crackdown for about 15 minutes and it froze. The *bleep* thing froze. This is the 5th console they have sent me. So I unplugged the damn thing and waited 15 minutes. I plugged it back in at restarted.. it froze on start up. I then called my Microsoft Representative that was assigned to my case, and told him what happened. I then told him I want my money back... he said that wasn't possible, and said the only thing he could do is to send me another refurbished console.

I now feel obligated to go out and buy a new console if I want to play the Halo 3 beta because the process of sending the consoles in takes about 3-4 weeks...

I AM SO PISSED! I am writing a letter to the Better Bussines Bureau, and am filing a report with my State Attorney General...

This is outrageous.

I am sorry I had to vent somewhere... I am sorry if I cussed in there somewhere...

My xbox360 broke October 12th.

After going back and forth with Microsoft, them shipping the box to the wrong address, and etc., they have recieved my xbox360 three days ago and i await the return of it.

Hopefully all goes well, as i really want to play more Halo 3.

I dont know if any of you guys know this, but if not this coudl be a extremely important piece of information for xbox360 hardware failure and the RROD.

When i was talking to a microsoft supervisor, he asked me if i had my xbox360 powerbrick plugged into a surgeprotector or any other form of multi-outlet powersupply. I told him that yes, i did have my powerbrick plugged into a surgeprotector. He said, well that explains how you got the RROD. He said its the leading cause in people getting RROD, even more than overheating.

Reason being? The powerbrick has a built in surgeprotector. Therefore, if it is plugged into another, it makes the xbox360 work harder for power, and causes hardware failure.

This is what he told me, and sorry if this has already been known.
Hope I helped, and my sympathys to the threadstarter. I cannot imagine the stress and anger (and many other things) that you have had to deal with going through 11 Xbox360s. That is extremely outrageous.

I sent my console in for repair with m$, (big mistake), so I waited 3-4 weeks when they claim 2 weeks, anyway, i only had it for 3 weeks, then they sent me this roughed up xbox, man i was pissed, so of course I told them that this is B$, but they thought nothing of it, the refurb self destructed, and of course i sent it back again, only this time they did not repair it and it had tamper written on the box, also B$, so total playing time was about 20 hours over 4 months ( awesome), and now they are accusing me of "tampering", which is also B$, the over priced garbage never left my sight and the seals were fully intact when I shipped it, now I have to fix it myself, but my point is take it back to where you bought it and exchange instead of M$. peace, I'm out.

Well as for me i've been through like 2 of them. One of them has totally gone the gpu chip needs removing and replacing cause of the too much board flex so i throw that 1 aside. Have another 1 now that gives trouble once or twice a month so i have to always be fixing that 1. I also have the first 1 i bought in december of last year and thats the 1 i take out when the one that has his period start acting up. Also fixed a few of them for some people and mien these games are dropping like flies and where i live we have no M$ support we are out of the US so when ur game id dead her u have to either try get it fixed or buy a new 1. I worked on like 10 of them so far and had luck with about 8 of them but they keep going back cause people here don't listen and keep them cool.

I bought a faulty 360 from eBay a couple of months ago to see if I could fix it. I did, and it's working fine now. I bought another one on eBay, fixed that too and sold it to my friend. So now I keep buying them and selling them on, and I also run a repair service that I advertise on eBay - people keep sending them to me to be repaired. I've heard some horror stories about Microsoft customer service, peoples' 360s being away for 6 months, coming back and failing immediately or very soon afterwards and I've had people even with their 360s under warranty happy to pay me to fix their consoles because they don't want to put up with that.

However I'm glad to see that's not true in all cases - it's good to see that some people are getting a quick turnaround from Microsoft and bonuses such as free Live subscriptions.
