Not much you can do really, you can still play games.
and if you really want to go on XBL you could buy a coresystem.
I got an MS25 with 5.2A, didn't go online today so I could try flashing back to normal or even to 5.3: what should I do haha, don't think it would matter though..

Mine Works!
Hey I just checked mine and I got online with a backup of rainbow 6. I have a sammy drive with the latest firmware - not sure which since i had someone do it.
But I'm sure they will catch it soon enough. I guess i will stay up all night playing till i get banned.

ud think MS woulda left us alone, obviously we aint gonna be giving them money, cuz we aint buying games, thee only way they were gettin money outta me is the GOLD live account.

Update for me. My MS28 with 5.3a is NOT banned yet. My gamertag had a credit card that was invalid now. Oh well, I still am not going to download the Halo3 beta.

The only reason I think MS25's are getting banned and not the MS28 is because after xtreme4, they used the ms28 core and spoofed it as a MS25 to avoid e66 errors after the fall update. If they release a xtreme 5.3 based on the MS25 drives for MS25 drives, then I bet they'd not get banned.

Microsoft Starts Banning 360s on LIVE - MS Confirms
>> With the amount of posts we see on our forums ... it's clear, Microsoft decided to start banning Xbox360 with modified firmwares today (both Hitachi-LG and Toshiba-Samsung drives).
While it's the same release date as Halo3 beta, it seems that people who didn't download Halo3 also get banned. They probably detect backup discs (and not the modified firmware) when you play 'em online (not confirmed yet).
Even people using the new firmwares with disc-jitter added get banned, so it looks like Microsoft found another way to detect it.
Just like on Xbox1 it looks like Microsoft bans the console unique ID (serial), not the LIVE user. Microsoft will not allow anyone to login on LIVE on a banned console.
Many people on the official xbox.com forums also claim they got banned but didn't have a flashed firmware ... we'll have to see how that story develops in the coming hours and days.

i have a sammy and havent been banned yet, although my dashboard became super slow and freezed up somehow... let's be honest, theres prolly gunna be firmware out soon that will allow us to play even if we have been banned, there are some crazy hackers out there
plus, even if we can't go on live anymore, ya it will suck, but we still get to play the games offline in campaign mode and we arent exactly fishing out huge $$ for them lol

Live is my main reason for owning a 360. It's just fun to play other people sometimes.

I think this explains why Microsoft siad "they were having problems with the Crackdown Halo 3 Beta". The thing is Microsoft probably faked an issue with the Halo 3 beta just to slip in a new security feature that would probably get ignored by us gamers and the people who create the Xtreme firmwares etc. They basically used the Halo 3 beta as a distraction tool to implement a new security feature (as we all know everyone had to update their 360 weather they were in the Halo 3 beta or not). They knew most people with hacked firmware would be on Xbox Live the day the Halo 3 beta was to be released. I believe they collected alot of user data yesterday and today before the ban hammer came down. This is just my theory on things. I havn't gotten banned yet, but only time will tell.

Ive BEEN BANNED!!!! as of today @ 6pm I was banned and I was playing all day I downloaded Halo 3 beta I have not updated console to bad it was fun while it lasted

Here's my theory on the bans. I believe it has something to do with the firmware obviously. It appears to me that people who have drives that are reporting that they are different then what they are, are the ones that are getting banned. Example, everyone I've seen with really old Samsung firmware aren't banned. I haven't seen any 0078fk banned either.

wow, i cant believe MS would do it right at this time. I knew they had teh ace up their sleeve, but to own people right as Halo 3 beta- ouch! I mean, i have said this before- the whole 'stealth' patch/drive... was just to make you feel good. MS knew who was who the whole time.
i think now the scene has to shift focus to physical chips with a hard switch between orginal and mod bypass, so at least u can still use same xbox to play orginal games with orginal FW online.

Guys Im posting here because Xbox-scene is not responding very well right now.
I have an MS25 w/ 5.3d and she is banned!!!
So I called up 18004MYXBOX and told them that my box wouldn't connect to Live, the guy asked me to turn it on so he could check something, and I had not re flashed to orig.bin yet.
So instantly red light flashed in my head, I told the guy that for some reason it was getting the 3 rings :D I acted like I was retarded.
They transfer me to hardware and I tell the guy what he wants to hear, my console is under warranty. I asked the guy if it broke b/c it couldnt connect to Live :D
Soooo they should be sending me my prepaid box very soon to get the Xbox replaced. The trick is Im going to make sure that POS never boot again in its life.
So once again Ms25 5.3d banned....fucking cmd4ever he said we were set.
