"Ebay sellers can be like a bunch of sharks. Once they smell blood they will go for the kill. So if they know about the ban, and have an unmodded console. Then they will know that they can charge a lot more for it as it will be in big demand. Supply and demand. Basic market stratagy."
Thats why the second I found out about the ban I bought the cheapest unmodded console ebay had to offer :)
Suggest you guys get on sharpish.

well i don't know much about it but I'd say go onto this site:
http://forums.maxconsole.net/forumdisplay.php?f=140
and check the forums there, they seem to be more active about this situation. But at the moment its a very small community on things like XBconnect because its just a few modders who are on there, but it might grow in the next few weeks, nowhere near as much as xbox live though.
But you won't be able to get your friend s with unmodded consoles into the rooms, unless they join onto that server I suppose, but why would they want to limit their online play just because you have been banned, lol, I know my mates won't wanna do that, they'll just laugh at me and say it serves me right, lol!

Mine is number 2. I have a hitachi 47dj modded with the jitter fw and I only stuck a burnt game in my 360 once right after the FW upgrade and then the spring update install just to see if it would still boot. I played Halo: CE over the weekend and saw that I was banned as of yesterday.

I was banned today, didn't play any game on xbox live since the last update, boot the xbox today without any game inside and I was banned. I don't really play on xbox live, but if they come up with a way to play online without microsoft detecting it, I'm gonna use my direct in store warranty at ebgames.

1 - not sure what drive or software as I got a friend to do it. I'll find out and let you lot know when I do. Gutted but it had to happen sometime.
By this time I guess those who are quicker would have all the cheap core 360's off of the auction sites by now.

It's not like that much can be charged. Anyone can buy a new Core for $300 and I see plenty of Cores in the pawnshops for $200-250.

catsee,
Just so you know that these systems are for Xbox not Xbox 360. They also work with some other consoles.
http://www.xbconnect.com/
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/
that is the website for both where you can look around and see what games they have and get questions answered
It is sort of like live. You can keep a friends list, send MSN messages to them through the system, They have chat rooms for the games where you can talk. They have game rooms for each game where you can find rooms to play in or create your own. And each game will tell you how many rooms and how many players are playing in each room. For free they are very good systems. And your friends would of course also have to have this on their PC and log in to play with you. It takes some getting use to at first to learn how it all works, but that is why they have a website.

There may still be hope, fingers crossed....
Ok, I flashed my Hitachi 47d many months back but hardly ever play online (backups or originals) & havent been online for weeks due to the speculation around the spring update. As soon as I heard about the ban frenzy last night I restored the orig firmware and fired it up on LIVE to see if id managed to evade the MS radar in time. NOPE! cant connect :( bollocks!
------------
Error code as follows..
W 0000-0021
X 0000-0021
Y 00A8-6820
------------
Interestingly thought, when I requested the info regarding the failure (that purple screen) It was completely blank? no info whatsoever, just the error code in the grey side bar. Is that normal or the same for everyone ????
BUT ANYWAY - THE INTERESTING BIT
I jumped on the official forum to see what the damage was worldwide and there are a few reports of people (alot of banned but *apparently* unmodded consoles) calling support after being and being told about major problems with servers or some BS..... "microsoft said that it was a problem with the Crackdown/H3 servers, that crashed everything, so depending on what server you're on, you will be banned. and they also said it would be sorted by tommorrow."

Maybe its wishful thinking but you never know guys! Regardless tho, if we ARE banned, at the end of the day if you live by the sword, you die by the sword I guess :[

Haven't been banned yet. Keep in mind that i have never ever played any game online as i never had a Gold subs.
I connected to XBL twice with a gap of at least an hour. And stayed connect for not more than two mins.
I have a Samsung MS28 with Xtreme 5.2
Hope i never get banned! Lol...but that's wishful thinking.

You have to click on the network adapter part, it should then give you the ban screen. If you click on the xbox live info then yeah, all you'll get is a blank screen.

as soon as i was asked to update the console with the spring update. i said no and pulled the ethernet... oh i have hitachi btw... anyway im presuming if i flash back to my old firmware everything will be okay as the speculation was they started recording info since then... so im just going to buy a samsung drive, flash that, and change drives over depending on what i want to do at the time. obviously i wouldnt secure the case and stuff everytime as it would get very boring... but does anyone think this would be ok...? thanks

owvp702 - thanks for the reply, I went and tried that to and still nothing? No information/explanation for the ban anywhere. Weird.
Im wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that I flashed back to original firmware --kinda in between fw detection and actually connecting to Live & recieving the bad news-- who knows?

Ok, some things i do not understand at all.
1. flashing back to original firmware? Why?
If you do that you can not play any of your back ups which is a much bigger waste of money than XBL is worth. Are you that addicted to Live?
2. unplugging the ethernet/not doing the update. OK so this one is even worse. So now you have no access to XBL at all. What your left with is the same thing that people being banned have. No Xbox Live.
I will be honest with you all. Xbox Live is not worth it. Playing back ups is much more valuable then the $50 a year XBL account.
1. spend $50 a year + the high price of games to be online.
2. Tell MS to screw their $50 a yr because it is their loss and make some friends to play with offline. (and save thousands a year being able to back up games)

i dont understand it steimy maybe u can help me if i play backups ms cannot stop me so u in return prevent me from buying other stuff u sell to recoup your loss on sells from piracy and not only that u prevent me from looking at future products from u n ur third parties who pay u money to promote there movies thinking u r doing what it takes to add eyeballs looking at there merchandise and in return ur turning eye balls away

At the moment I'm 4....(touch wood ill stay like this)
But I guess im in the fortunate position that I rented crackdown (and didnt copy it!) played it for a night and then it was logged in my played games. Last week I got sent an email with a the code for the Halo 3 beta and i played it before the 16th. So I guess I might be temporarly safe because I havnt played crackdown since I rented it so I've downloaded no updates. Fingers crossed that ill stay like this!

please noobs dont come in here telling us u have ms28 and you didnt get banned. we are talking about hacked/moded/chiped/flashed xbox 360s, not the one u just got from the store yesterday.
on a strategic level MS is playing cards right. this way halo addicts will immediately get a new xbox, after finding out they cant play Halo3 beta.
****and oh can u still access other parts of live, such as updates, videos, demos...????
