There isn't a scale, they have to find something that works before they know the ETA. They don't know if it will work or not, and if they have to try something else or not. It could be anywhere from now till the end of time.

Probably all, since its the 1.50 update disguised as a 3.12 update.

Ok thanks =] Do you have roughly a date for when it might be out? Or is that impossible to answer at the moment?

all that happens is, is that it gets to the update screen and it says update error this is probably because it is not a valid signature by sony because its been tampered with this is why it says that

You are aware that 1.5 will not run on a TA-082 without corrupting idstorage key 5 right? So unless this so-called "fake firmware" were to run the 1.5 eboot, it would brick all TA-082's immediately if it doesnt corrupt the key.

Just some info for you guys.

Also, following up on what Smurfff said, if the file is not digitally signed by Sony, it will not run. Anything without the signature is considered 'homebrew' and that is exactly what Sony is preventing with newer firmwares. Wont work without an exploit to run homebrew.

there is a patch for the ta-082 in the 3.03 downgrader, if this ends up ever working, it wouldnt be difficult (i assume) to put the patch in the downgrading process.

Well, i had an exploit, and if i could program it to make 3.11HEN or sumtin' it could probably be patched.

I have no idea what the inner workings of a psp are, as i have stated many times before. The Noobz site says the 3.03 downgrader will patch it on this page at the 4th bullet: http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/index.php?opt...Itemid=88888898
I assume it has something to do with replacing the IDStorage keys with ones that wont take a dump on you if you downgrade.

dont rule this out, we may do somethin that seems retarded, but it turns out to be what saves Project 3.12. just give it some time, somebody might find out sony's digital signature and all the 3.10+ people will be saved

either getting the signature or figuring out some HIN for the 3.11 would be the biggest key, not to mention like Double said, corrupting Id storagekey 5 so that you could load the 1.5 onto a TA-082 mobo as well.

oh and to scott2k7, not all 2.5 FW PSP's were shipped w/ TA-082 :-) i've picked up two that weren't.

one thing you newly psp exploit lookers should do is try to get into contact w/ someone that could possibly help you into figuring out what exactly would need to be done, this would more then likely be a person on one of the previous downgrader groups or something, otherwise if you just searched around the net enough, you might be able to find the things talking about stuff that would need to be accomplished like (corrupting id storagekey 5) and a homebrew exploit..or sony's key.

i just found something on Black-Cat's that could possibly help, but i'm not sure a debug unit might be needed or something but here's the description

Quote:
There was a PSP that Sony unbricked that was sent back to the owner with a memory stick inside.
The memory stick contained these items:

- Binary encrypted full NAND image.
- Required modules for system control for use by IPL of debug hardware.
- Logging module for debug log review (log is saved after full write).
- A file used for testing that the system plays well (usually a demo of a PSP game).

This memory stick supposedly unbricks any PSP.
But, you need a special battery in the PSP to load the files.

This battery is know as the "Sony JigKick".
It sends data through through the 3rd. battery pin that enables writing to the IPL from the memory stick.
Here are the battery specs:

- 1.1v-3.5v debug unit for connecting through the serial port in 3rd. battery pin.
- Transmission of data is UNENCRYPTED but uses a XOR algorithm for transmission (easily parsed and analyzed).
- Contains any number of IPLs (different ones for each motherboard revision (TA-XXX))
- IPL is loaded into the Kernel Memory. ME area seems most likely (IPL of the PSP is the same but missing 2 essential modules that the debug unit has).
- Contains ipl_mg_modules.bin and ipl_mg_nanddriver.bin
- IPL is encrypted in 3 stages. Easily decrypted to show stages, but not for decrypt each individual stage.
- Contains a 40x120 column TFT screen for display.
- Has a SERIAL port for PC connectivity.
- Seems to have a 32MB ROM IMAGE on Flash.
- 8MB of RAM.
- Nickel-Cadmium Battery Cell (possibly 76 hour battery life).
- AC/DC adapter port 15V.
- Contains 4 buttons (on/off, reset, connect/disconnect, menu).
- Arrow keys UP and DOWN for menu.

Post comments!
Do you think this is real?
