ah I see
don't think I have any firmwre in it...isn't thet the V4 thing I keep reading about that means I don't have to keep putting codes in whenever they change them?

What are you talking about what are you trying to download and do with it
my box is stuck on pre standby only getting flashing lights then it freezes if i press download wait for few seconds turn the box on i can get it to start downloading when it gets to 100% flash update fail appers have tried downloading new files and loader but nothing any ideas?

could be your connection liamo, are u sure ur using a 'null modem cable'?
also the firmware/software could be bad. try downloading from a different place, use the link under my post (eko.4)

yes v4.00e will autoroll( auto update the codes ) for u
u can check what version is on your box by going into 'system information' but like i said you have 'the box' and i think the newest version is 2.60 ( not 100% sure, ryan will know)so dont think v4 will work on it !

the boxs starts with v2.60 (its like 2.58 for the Starview)you can't access the secret menu with this.then v3 but the picture freezes sometimes with this but it does autoroll.then v4 with is very good because it autrolls and no picture freezing.then the latest v4.5 which works on c***** the epg is supposed to work better and the blue button controls the screen size.

Thanks for clearing that up ryan. I thought i read somewhere that v4 didnt work on 'the box' . must have my wires crossed !

v4 for the Starview doesn't work on the box but there is a v4 for the box.

hmmmm...totally lost now.
I never put firmware on it, it must have been on when supplied. absolutely no idea what to do now

if you go to main menu go to system information it will tell you what is on it.if you bought from ebay or off someone you know they usually have firmware on it.

the cable worked fine when i first downloaded ill try doing it from friends pc using his cable and files thanks

Please take off your email address, (go to edit and delete it), as it is not allowed on the open forum. Ryan has the firmware but it is only for "The Box" and not to be used on a Starview.

I am sorry to say it is not for the Starview box only a box called TheBOx do not put this on your Starview or it will be bunched also you are not permitted to put you e/mail address on the forum so can you delete it by editing your post on the right hand side looks like a notepad thanks

Have you any news on an autoroll due and got email this morn from sat saying they had removed the post from last night had a look and they are still there but have not been answered for some reason wonder why
