Hey guys I'm having real problems getting money back from a clone seller through paypal, check their email:

flog,heres how another guy got his money back
(Firstly go to dispute console on ebay, then click on the link that says report an item not received or not as described.
You then have to enter the article number and answer a few other questions about the transaction before you proceed to the dispute console on Pay Pal.
There you are required to make a formal complaint about the item describing what you would like resolved.
This is then sent to the seller and they then have 30 days to respond or pay pal fin#s in your favour.
I allowed the seller not to reply for 10 days at which time I then escalated my grievance to a formal claim.
The seller never got back in touch with paypal or responded to any of my emails, I also explained in my emails that I could prove that the receiver was a clone and that he knowingly sold it, as such
At the end of the 30 day period paypal found in my favour and refunded the monies into my account.
I bought my clone starview through the dealer "big zed" whom is listed in the name and shame forum and would encourage anybody whom has bought a receiver from him to follow what I have done as paypal now has records showing that he knowingly sold false goods and therefore should provide refun#s to everyone whom has purchased clone starviews from him.
I apologise for not replying sooner to this thread but hopefully someone will find th8is information helpful.)

Hey
I went through that procedure and the guy emailed paypal advising the box is genuine and so as a result paypal want me to prove it's not! How come as a seller on ebay Paypal find in other peoples favours straight away with no hassle then we I get scammed I have to do all the hard work!
They won't take anything except some kind of experts advice, I suppose I could just make something up????
but they have basically just booted the ball back to me now...

i got the same response from them i did not get my money back either you should tell them to look at their records about how many people have lodged claims with them over the same goods and see what they say i am going to have another go at them as well and see what happens let me know how you get on

thanks fergus, I have been an avid reader of the forum since I got my back back in May and it's good to chat to you. I don't like paypal, had my account limited by them before, paypalsucks dot com is a great website for paypal resources and horror stories, check it out...

Hi Gays N Gals,
As discussed on page 14 - 15 of this thread I was discussing how to upload Firmware from a laptop, well good news I finally cracked it I used the following adaptor which I purchased from ebay for 97p:

I am sure this will solve a lot of peoples issues

A quick learner I am but still very new to Starview, I purchased 2 adaptors b4 this with no joy but this 1 finally worked, after finding the other 2 not working I took them apart to find only 5 pins connected so this may be the issue. How long does it take to come out of Jnr member mode as its a pain in the Ar** having to wait 3 mins to send other message?

Hmm only new people need to wait 3 minutes as far as I am aware, cant understand why you are still waiting.
With regards to the two adapters the first two you had were just serial adapters, (no good), the last one you used was a serial port adapter which is the correct adapter.

Yes on the adapters, the null modem DB9F to DB9F cables are basically serial crossover DTE to DCE cables.

Yes you can but you need a serial usb port adapter, along with a null modem cable.
