Do as karl suggests and flash back to 4.50 it's more stable - but for future reference if you ever want to go above then I bet you have not done it correctly - as regards the 4.52,53,54, using GTRom 4.00 is no good - this is the procedure :- From v4.50/51 you must - Use the New Improved GTrom Loader Ver 4.03 for example >>>>>>>
First flash thebox_H20070814_452eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)
Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.
(select Background Data File)
Version 4.53 For UK
If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier you must flash 4.53 first. then flash the logo file. If you already have the 4.52 on just flash the 4.53 straight on no need for the logo file, you must use the 4.3 loader.
Version 4.54 for UK & Ireland
If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier then flash 4.54 first then afterwards flash the logo file. If you already have 4.52 on or later then just flash the 4.54 straight on without it. You must use the new Loader Software v4.3
I find the 4.51 UK much more stable, but it's an individual choice, but that is the procedure above.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me malci I followed your instructions to the letter took a while but got every thing loaded on eventually it went from a zero on the front panel to moving lines and then finally to nothing at all you could see that it was ready to say ON but it just disapeared as soon as it came on and the box will not accept the 4.50 version either any more things i can try?????????????????? I am really pulling my hair out here

Sounds like a cap may be gone Malci although could try a boot flash first.

Did you follow the bad flash guide, sometimes it can take quite a few tries.

yeah sound m8 just wonderin if i could get driver software for a usb convertor anywhere got a cable off a lad but no disc ( he found it in the office) need i say more lol

hi guys can anyone plz help. i have a box it looks like a clone but however when i checked which software was on the box it said version 4.00ee.api however the box only has 18vents x 7. is it possible for a clone to work on version 4.00ee. I want to put one of the crypt files on it but am unsure which one i should use any help is greatfully received

to be on the safe side the cryptstar 257 core is safe for clones and genuine

maybe you should do a factory reset and then an auto scan see if you pick up channels

I have a Starview box can anyone suggest how d hell I stop it freezing and jumping and losing sound I have the latest software and stuff but it still wont stop????

make sure all your connections are ok scart and coaxial connections .. make sure your pipe signal is good .. make sure your scart is in the right place and is of decent quality and is pushed in tight .. gold plated scarts are usually better .. and aslo is your pipe going into cable input instead of tv\vcr on the box
