If the answer is yes I thought the games are on regular DVD's and I thought you need hd-DVD or blu-ray to achieve that. Am I wrong?

The games are manufactured on to what would equal a dvd-9. But yes... it is a "regular" dvd, not a hd-dvd or blu-ray. The resolution a game can play at has nothing to do with what type of media it's on.

You'll need either the Elite w/hdmi or you can use the vga cable on your regular 360 to get 1080p. You MAY be able to get 1080p using the component cables if you have one of the FEW t.v.'s which will accept 1080p through component.

Well I thought that was the big deal for the new formats(hd-DVD and blu-ray) was 1080p. If DVD can do it what's the big deal of those two? Storage?

Sony likes money, and wants more of it. But really the formats were needed for HD video, and Sony decided to use it for the PS3 so delevopers would have more room for high resolutions on large games. Right now I've heard that their having a hard time getting some games onto standard DVDs, such as GTA4. However with smaller games like virtual tennis 3, they can easily fit 1080p because there isn't as much to the game, courts, players, menus, some other small stuff. Versus all of the content GTA4 has which may need a larger amount of space for HD.

360 games are not made HD, so it makes no difference whether using hdmi cables or ocnnecting to TV that's capable of 1080i or 1080p.
You'll never get same resoultion/clarity/detailed graphics like you see on PS3 since PS3 are made on blue/ray.
360 games are made on Dvd-9 since it requires more space to hold all that data but not on HD-DVD.
So to answer your question, 360 games are definatley not HD.

I don't think thats quite right. I would think of it like this. You have a Dual Layer Disk with HD resolution pictures, and AVI HD videos on it. You play it back through your computer and it is still in HD. On the other hand you burn lets say 10 gigs of the same data onto a Blu-Ray disk, you play it back through your computer, the only difference is that you had around 15 gigs sill avalible on the Blu-Ray disk, and the space might be needed later, but right now is not. All HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are for is larger files, because you couldn't fit a full HD movie on a DVD-9 disk. But if you want to talk about disk being able to store HD, think about all of the PC games that are HD, that are stored on multiple CD-Rom disk. Also as of now, no PC games use newer HD disk formats, and their resolutions are higher than the PS3 (2560 x 1600 vs 1920 x 1080). Blu-Ray and HD-DVD is only needed for HD movies as of now. Games as of now might need a few more gigs of space but I doubt we'll see alot of full 25 GB game disk for a while, let alone dual layer 50 GB disk.

I really don't understand how you can say it is not HD when it is a proven fact. I even gave examples, your just saying it's not, no offense, but prove to me that it's not, then we'll go from there.

Disc... Console.....

They hav nothing to do whether its HD or not. What determines that is whether the damn file on the disc is HD!

Good God man... do you live under a rock and get your info from what you overhear on the short bus? You can't be serious, right?

If it's outputting at least 720i, then that's considered high def.

- 480i is standard def
- 480p is enhanced def
- 720i and up is high def

Now I'm pretty sure MS and the game developers haven't been lying to us the whole time by stating the games are 720p/up yet they're really not (according to you). Must be some big corporate gimick to dup the consumers into buying thier games, huh?

It sure did look alot like HD on my plasma. The info box on my TV even said it was being fed 1080i while playing BF2. So I don't see how you can say it wasn't. I guess my TV must be wrong somehow.

yeah 360 is capable of 1080p but only a few games are 1080p now. i know virtua tennis 3 is native 1080p. I think next generation you will see developers acutally developing games in 1080p.

In fact, I know there's more than what's listed. Right off the top of my head I know G.Recon 2 and Lost Planet are 1080p.

Very simple answer toou all who believe 360 games are HD.
Take a look at logo on HD-DVD movie & PS3 (even though pS3 is blue-ray)
They both say HD-DVD or Blue-ray on them but no such marking on
360 games.
Do I need to go further.............

Then why do the backs of the 360 game cases say (in little boxes) HDTV 720p, or HDTV 480p/720p/1080i, whats that supposed to mean?

Because that logo is used for the film industry. And it does have an hd logo. For f@cking crying out loud... pull your head out of your ass. You really are making yourself out to be a joke.

Oh, and here's the logo: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbo...yer/default.htm . Are you really this stupid? Once again, it's used by the film industry. Not gaming. Or are you going to tell us the hd dvd player doesn't exist? Now that I've shown you 360's hd logo, what's your next step?

So now... please do go further... so we can keep laughing our asses off at you.

Or better yet, why not jump over to the PS3 forum and try posting your crap. You'll see how quickly your own peers tear you apart.

Here's a scan of the back of Ghost Recon 2 for the 360. Explain why is states it'll play in hd up to 1080p? So now you can stfu.

Do you believe us now? I honestly don't know how much more proof we could have given, besides sending you a 360 with viruta tennis 3, and a 1080p TV. I mean no offense here or anything, I just don't see where your coming from with this.

Damn how can someone be such a fanboy the original xbox even had games in 720p. Doesnt matter what kind of disc is used in matter whats on the disc. By the way the HD-DVD specs call for red laser (DVD9) that can contain how def material. I should now ulead and other programs use it and I been using it to author such material. I wish a mod would come here and delete these blatant lies .

Look at all the game comparisons on IGN. You will see that none of the games that are released on multiple systems either run better or have better graphics on the PS3 - save for Oblivion.

The fact that you can write something that stupid speaks volumes of your ignorance. They're not HD, huh? Well, all the game devs and M$ themselves think 360 games are HD; so, is that to say you know something that they don't?
