Ill listen to ddp and ireland, as unlike alot of people, when i smell conspiracy i research. I research, research, research and research until i have my own theory beyond reasonable doubt. So i get very heated in these kind of debates. :D

My Bitch...I downloaded winavi to convert a RM file to avi...It has been running for over 2hrs...and shows 0 progress...and ??? for estimated time...
How long should it take to convert a RM file of 700mb to AVI?..
Don't know what the problem was...Stopped the conversion...changed it to convert to a WMA file...already at 20%...with 38 min to finish...I guess it had problems in conversion to AVI...and it just hung...

My system is a E6300...GA-965P-S3...4gigs of Corsair PC-6400...that should have been enough juice to convert a damn file...
Me thinks it was just a hiccup in WinAVI trying to convert it to AVI...once I changed it to a WMA...it was no problem...its at 60% with 20min to go...
It is version 8.0...which is the latest on their site...

I just converted an 18kb rm file to avi.The resulting file ends up over 650kb!!Your 700mb rm file when converted to avi would be huge!!

It is an Audio/Video file...Well it converted it...but NO AUDIO...
I did not change any settings from default...It came out to 1.64GB...It looks good...actually better then the RM file...
I just converted it to DVD...still NO AUDIO...picture quality not as good as original nor as good as WMA conversion...I'm stumped...

I know that in the first "lets paint the kettle black" fourm, i said i wansn't going to bitch anymore. But my life is in sh$thole again. Let's start with my family, I hate my family so much but there's nothing i can do about it cause it's my family. I hated how they treat me like shi$. and beg when they need my help and when i ask them for help they ignore me like a stranger. Now friends, couple years back i thought friends meant the world to me. Now all i realize is that i have no "true friends". and there's no honest people in this world that i can be friends with. now girls, girls have tear my heart out and burned it. Girls always stab my heart. now myself, I talk to doctors about my problem and they said i'm fine, and that everyone go though this. What he said is true, So true, But i'm not like everyone eles. I hate that i'm a human and i'm forced to feel feelings. I hate these feeling that never goes away and hunts me down. I wish i can forget about everything in this world and everyone in this world. I am getting old and I know i'm missing out my life. But no matter how much i hate it i never change it. That's why I am so miserable. That's what doctors and i agreed on.

I am using WinAvi 8.0 to convert a Real Media to something that I can play on my standalone...
I have tried RM to AVI...it just hung...
I tried RM to WMA...NO AUDIO...
I tried RM to DVD...NO AUDIO...
I think I need to try a different Converter...Any suggestions...

Yes...The RM Audio plays fine...In the original...I was just trying to get it to a WMA...AVI...or DVD so I could play it on a standalone player...
I would prefer a WMA...
My friend has a Phillips 642...just like mine...wanted to make a copy she could play at her house...
I downloaded the WinAVI 8.0 right from their site...its not a torrent version...
I have looked over all options in WinAVI...do not see any setting that I could have obviously wrong...there are not a lot of options under advanced...however this is the first time I have used this program...

Reading the faq it states this:
Support for no-sound RM files.
Not sure what that means but it may help.
