A TWOFOLD BITCH:
#1 I haven't even had a moment to stop by and bitch!!
#2 A large number of businesses and factories have closed and moved to Mexico and China all at the same time. Roughly six or seven thousand people are being laid off all at the same time. The government has intervened because the majority are, essentially, unskilled workers so it's likely that thousands will be added to Philly's already huge welfare roles. A huge number of them who've been in Philly for over twenty years don't even speak English (my family and I struggled hard to learn English when I was a kid so this is something that irritates the hell out of me, but I digress) ...we're going to have to hire a large number of interpreters on the taxpayer dime just to speak with them. We have to deal with them right from square one ... learning English, then training them to be able to do something or else it will cost us big time in the long run. (When I was a kid, my parents had to be actively involved in learning English to get citizenship .. they should never have changed that little requirement).
@ IRELAND I'm so very sorry to hear about your vision and you're in my prayers. I've had but a small taste of what you must be going through. After they put in the implant in my eyes, I started losing vision really quickly; completely blind in the left and the right going rapidly. Fortunately for me, it was just a bad doctor and it was just scar tissue they could remove with a laser then my vision was awsome; I was scared to death so I can only imagine what you must be going through. Once again, you're in my prayers, my friend!

Sorry to hear about you eyes. Maybe they can still do something?
@gerry(is that right?)
I didn't know you didn't have to know english anymore to get citizen ship. You know what I hate is immigrants coming here and then complaining about how much America sucks. This is coming from a immigrant so I'm not trying to discriminate against them.

Try to keep a positive attitude. Miracles do happen. I know from
personal experience. Medicine makes strides everyday. Will remember
you in my prayers.
One of my miracles was a grandson born weighing 15oz. He turned 5
a while back. He is healthy and has an extremely high IQ. I believe
in miracles.

thank ye all for ye support,i pray and hope none of ye get this.
i am posting this so ye understand the condition i have
Macular degeneration, often called AMD or ARMD (for age-related macular degeneration), is the leading cause of vision loss and blindness in Americans aged 65 and older. Because older people represent an increasingly larger percentage of the general population, vision loss associated with AMD is a growing problem.

You could always use some of Micro$ofts built in features such as high contrast and even change all your fonts to a larger, easier to read size.

A POST TO GERRY1 AND TO ALL
Team owner Jeffery Lurie had put together the perfect team for the
Philadelphia Eagles. The only thing missing was a good quarterback. He had
scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European Leagues, but he
couldn't find a ringer who could ensure a Super Bowl victory.
One night while watching CNN, he saw a war-zone scene in Afghanistan. In
one corner of the background, he spotted a young Afghani soldier with a
truly incredible arm. He threw a hand grenade straight into a window from 80
yards away. Then he threw another from 50 yards down a chimney, and finally
hit a passing car going 80 miles per hour. "I've got to get this guy!" Lurie
said to himself " He has the perfect arm!"
He brings the young Afghan to the States and teaches him the great game of
football. Sure enough the Eagles go on to win the Super Bowl. The young
Afghan is hailed as a hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he
wants, all the young man wants to do is call his mother. "Mom," he says into
the phone, "I just won the Super Bowl.
"I don't want to talk to you," the old Muslim woman says. "You deserted us.
You are not my son."
"Mother, I don't think you understand," pleads the son, "I've just won the
greatest sporting event in the world!"
"No! Let me tell you," his mother retorts, "At this very moment there are
gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of rubble. Your two
brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to
keep your sister in the house so she doesn't get raped!" The old lady
pauses, then tearfully says, "I will never forgive you for making us move
to Philadelphia!"

The Do Not Call Registry is great, I used to get "phone spam" from a computer, I picked up the phone, said "Hello" and it was dead air on the other end so I hung up after ~3 seconds.
It called me 4-6 times a day, I put my phone in the Do Not Call Registry and with in a week they quit calling me. :-)
Best of all its free! All you do is type in your phone number (I did it for a friend as well) and your email. They email you a confirmation link you click it and your then put on the list for 5 years.
Peace

Anyway, how do they know its a cell phone or not?

After reading the news story about Spiralfrog.com, decided to pop over and check it out, pretty cool free music download site, Unfortunately you can't burn a disk, nor transfer to your Ipod or cell phone, waste of web space.

Quote: how do they know its a cell phone or not?
Say my phone # is 123-456-7890
In my rural area certain 456 is designated for cell phones just like 1-800 is prefix to toll free.
Some major cities I believe, split their area code (123) also to give more possible number combinations.

Colin McRae Killed In Helicopter Accident
Colin McRae 1968-2007
EXPN
Rally legend Colin McRae was killed on Saturday, September 15 along with his 5-year-old son and two others in a tragic helicopter crash about one mile north of his home. McRae was 39.
It has been confirmed that Colin was flying the Squirrel helicopter when it went down in Scotland, killing all four people on board.
McRae was the first Briton to win the World Rally Championship in 1995 and was admired for his aggressive driving style as well as the fun and outgoing personality he showed when he wasn't behind the wheel. An accomplished wheelman, McRae took part in all kinds of motorsports, including Le Mans, sports car racing, the Paris-Dakar, piloted Martin Brundle's F1 car and competed in the X Games, taking silver in the 2006 rally event.
Nicky Grist, McRae's co-driver since 1997, said the rally world was in shock, telling the BBC, "he was such a great character, we used to drive to the max and push everything to the absolute limit. But when it came to socializing we had great fun also." Grist also noted that McRae had a great respect for flying, and once said that "you don't mess about in a helicopter."
Reuters reported that Sir Jackie Stewart said McRae's passing was "a sad loss for Scotland, of a real hero and an immensely popular friend." Moto GP star Valentino Rossi dedicated his win at Sunday's Portugese GP to McRae.
Colin McRae is survived by his wife, Alison and daughter, Hollie.
Please visit Colin McRae.com to read a statement issued on behalf of Colin McRae's family and to leave messages of condolence to Colin's family and friends.
I know this is a couple days Old...But...I just saw it...and thought others...Might Not Know...Very Tragic...Indeed...

Windows
Find Out If Your Computer Is Secretly Connecting to the Web
If you are trying to track down why your computer is running so slooowwwly, try using this simple DOS command from Digital Inspiration to uncover a possible problem:
* Type cmd in your Windows Run box.
* Type "netstat -b 5 > activity.txt" and press enter.
* After say 2 minutes, press Ctrl+C.
* Type "activity.txt" on the command line to open the log file in notepad (or your default text editor)
This .txt file will have a record of everything that has made an Internet connection in the last couple of minutes; you can then check your task manager to find out where it is and take care of it.
