does anyone with more experience know--is this over now, or do they tend to pursue individual users?

You guys make it seem that they were only Wii's when they were after everything. i guess this is the real deal i think they killed modding.

They seized my swap magic too :(

I've been trying to call consolesource.com from a payphone so they don't trace me. (Just in case...)
The line has been busy for the last week.
Does anyone know if they got effected by the raid?
They haven't sent my chip yet, I paid for it back on july 24th.

So yeah, not only did George Bush not do this, he actually didn't want it.

Not really atm, it was something that was being talked about locally. It may even be wrong, but still I dont think he personally signed off for this raid... in the meantime though I did find this amusing story:

Just a quick follow-up to the raid, not sure what this means but a lot of the websites that were down before (RevolutionSales, OTBMods) are back up but just not selling anything related to mod chip equipment. The Canadian suppliers/installers seem to still be immune and are still offering shipping/mod chip installation service but who knows how much longer this will go on. I have yet to hear of anyone who has gotten chips/modifications done on a send-out basis and gotten them back succesfully since the raid, but I know someone who just sent out their system to a Canadian guy 2 days ago. We'll see if they get theirs back without a problem.

Does anyone know where consolesource.com is located?
Are they in Canada? I purchased a cyclowiz from them back on 7/24 but haven't received anything yet. I'm a little nervous to try to contact them though.

Consolesource is in Canada. Unless you ordered expedited shipped it's going to take a long time, like 3 weeks or more. Now here's the bad news. Since the raids consolesources no longer ships modchips to the the US. You can check the status of your order on their site.

Amazon should be fine, but this days I would take anything for granted. Buy anything modchip related at your own risk.

At my own risk you mean I have a chance that the government will seized my order right?

Something like that, but Amazon should be ok right now. It's kind of like ebay and I doubt the feds would be checking every little sale on there.

Amazon is probably the safer bet right now. It's already in the country. No customs and is likely under the radar.

hey guys, I found this forum while looking for other people like me whose consoles were seized in the raid. Heres my full story for those interested:

After a botched modchip installation (an overall mistake), i sent my wii to a third party service at modchipman.com in an attempt to have my system repaired. After it was determined by them to be unrepairable by them, I called nintendo, expected to be told that nintendo won't help anyone who tried to install a modchip. Rather, I was told that the merciful nintendo would attempt to repair my system. I proceeded to process the repair immediatly. This was July 27th. Soon thereafter, I sent an email to modchipman.com asking for them to send my system back to my home so that I could send it to nintendo. I was told that they would ship it back. This was at the end of july (right before the massive raids nintendo executed) I recieved the following email from modcipman.com a week ago:

Dear Customer,

In a recent raid & seizure of EBS, Inc. (parent company of MOD SOURCE and MODCHIPMAN.COM), your system was seized as part of an evidence gathering operation. As of the current date, there are no indications from the Government office indicating the status of the systems seized in this raid.

We would like to indicate that EBS, INC. was raided in an attempt to gather information related to piracy and products that violated copyright infringements. Your system was seized in assumption that it was used in pirated or copyright infringing activities. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you for the time being but as of right now your system is in the hands of the US Department of Homeland Security together with Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE). They have not indicated to us any status of these systems as of yet.

Once again we do not want you to worry about the situation as they were merely seizing any system that had been tampered with (the void stickers removed). You are not in trouble nor do they have any reason to keep your system for a long period of time. Unfortunately, without solid information from their department, we can not answer exactly when your system will be returned to you.

Government seizures of this nature tend to be very broad in their evidence collection and quite often innocent customers and products are involved. We do apologize for this delay but we are providing the contact information given to us by their department in an effort for you to extract more information on the case.

Your contact at the US Department of Homeland Security is

Susan Jensen
Special Agent
Office of the Special Agent in Charge
1 Tower Lane, Suite 1600
Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181
630.574.4600 (telephone)
630.574.2889 (fax)

I'm really not too sure what to make of it. there's my full story, and I'd really like hear everyone elses. I really don't have enough information from this to decide what course of action to pursue (call the government or wait for them to contact me). If anyone else is in the same spot as me, please do post a reply or send me an email at pleaseplacespamhere@gmail.com. Any other input is greatly appreciated

Well uh my swap magic order (from revolution sales) got seized from the government. But they said they refunded me. But my dad has to check if they did though. So I ordered swap magic from Amazon. It came safely.

I think the best bet is buying it there. They had to hide the name though. Make sure you buy it from gamez network.
