what happens is I put my pandora's battery in my PSP and the screen is black and nothing happens. Whereas I use my friends battery and it works just fine.

does it have anything to do with the AC Adaptor?

Any idea how to fix this?

Wait, so you're wondering why your PSP won't turn on with the Pandora battery in? That's because it doesn't work normally while it's in service mode, you haven't made the memory stick yet then?

You mean, you made the battery without even knowing about the memory stick part???

Erm... isn't it with the easy installer thing? Follow this guide:

10) Now download this pack from http://igizmore.blogspot.com/2007/08/mak...tery-magic.html , extract it with WinRar and copy the PSP folder and the UPDATE.PBP to the ROOT of the PSP memory stick . If you you have a 1.5 PSP no problem , If you have Custom Firmware make sure you turn on the 1.5 kernel mode .

11) Disconnect your PSP . Scroll to GAME and click on ?Pandora?s Battery Firm. Installer? it will take a few moments . After its done remove the MS from the PSP turn it off then place it back in and turn the PSP back on again, you HAVE to do this .

12) Connect your PSP to the PC . A Few files and folders will be formed in your ROOT , now copy the msipl.bin from the root to the ?msinst Folder? which is inside your extracted Pandora folder . It should look like this

13) Here we go again START >RUN type in CMD . That black box will open again . Now copy the address of the msinst.exe followed by the PSP drive letter followed by the address of the msipl.bin

Now if your PC shows C:/ in your CMD it should be something like this (with reference to PSP?s drive as I)

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

IF you PC shows C:\Documents and Setting\Username> then it will look something like this :

C:\Documents and Settings\username>Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

If you did it right you will get a prompt like (this promp will differ from PC to PC) :

>>> PSP MS IPL Installer
>>> Load IPL code msipl.bin
>>> 241664 bytes(59 block) readed
>>> Target DRIVE is 1
>>> Check partation Sector
>>> boot status 0x80
>>> start head 0x0B
>>> start sec/cyl 0x0018
>>> partation type 0x06
>>> last head 0x7F
>>> last sec/cyl 0xCFE0
>>> abs sector 0x00000177
>>> ttl sector 0x0003CF689
>>> signature 0xAA55
>>> Check BPB Sector
>>> signature AA55
>>> Check free reserved sector:OK
>>> Write ABS Sector 0x10 to 0x1E7
>>> Are You Sure ?[Y]

Type in Y and you will get

>>> Write MS BOOT CODE

Congrats you now have a Magic Memory stick . Now Disconnect your psp from the PC and remove the memory card and turn of the PSP , then place the MS back in and turn the PSP on .

NOTE : if you get

>>> PSP MS IPL Installer
>>> Load IPL code msipl.bin
>>>Can?t open msipl.bin

The location (address) of the msipl.bin is WRONG (i got this like loads of times until I figured it out just keep trying )

I think I just totally screwed up my PSP, this is step by step what I did.

Got my friends PSP, put my mem stick 2 gig pro duo, and battery in his PSP (v 1.5 official) then I formatted my MS, after that i installed the files on the MS. Then I disconnected the USB and went into the games folder and found firmware installer and battery installer. I backed up the eboot as I was told to and made the pandoras battery using the battery creater app. After this was done I took out the battery and MS, and put them in my PSP and my PSP turned on but my screen remained black.

So I took out my battery and put his in mine and my PSP started up normally.

So then I got home and plugged in my charger and it works with the charger but when I take off the charger and restart my PSP the screen is still black. And now when I plug my PSP in to the comp Via USB it doesn't recognize my PSP.

This royally sucks...

First of all, when you've made the battery, you're not supposed to take it out or turn the PSP off, you should leave it in and on. Then do the mem stick stuff BEFORE switching off again.

Not sure why it isn't turning on though... strange, you sure that both batteries aren't pandoras?

I used Pandora to make a jigkick and magic memory stick and used M33's 360 CFW to flash my Slim but something happened that I'm very sure wasn't supposed to. After I flashed the slim using a fat's battery the Slim battery wouldn't work. My slim would still boot normally from the charger but it wouldn't recognize or charge the battery.

It may also have been because I used Pandora's Battery Creator to experiment with turning the slims battery into a Pandor Battery but all I did with it was make a backup of the slims EEPROM.

Any ideas / insights / similar experiences?

Yes, yes, yes, oh and, yes.

It works on any firmware what-so-ever, any motherboard, but it can only be MADE on 1.50/CFW.

Just the memory stick? Get the GUI, and that'll put the right files on it, but you'll still need the battery.

sorry im still a noob to this whole psp cfw stuff. what is a GUI and where can i download it? when i hear GUI i think graphical user interface but i dont think thats what your talking about here. I checked that one sticky that has all the info about downgrading and stuff but it dosent seem to mention that program in it.

edit: nvm i found the program. im not sure if it works with a psp without cfw though. it still looks like you need to connect the psp to the comp via usb to format the card.

You can use the GUI w/ either a PSP or Memory Stick Pro Duo card reader, right? I've got a MMS Duo Pro card reader on the way, just need to get a 256mb Pro Duo card and the battery. I was thinking about getting the Tool Battery from Datel. I know, it is a rip off seeing as you still need the memory stick, and the fact that they don't give credit to Team C+D.

I was thinking about it, the Tool battery only brings the PSP to Service Mode, so you would still need the magic memory stick. But by using the GUI w/ the MMS Pro Duo card reader, all of the files should get installed properly, meaning one would have the Magic Memory Stick. And Shokz, I havnen't heard of a success story using this method, have you?

The exact same thing, once made, it can be used for both.

thats bpretty much the same thing im trying to do. After searching for an entire day I found that you can use the Pandora GUI to make a Magic Memory Stick without a cfw psp. I'll try it in a few mins and post the results.

First off a BIG thanks for that, to all who contributed to the pandoras battery "how to" touran22 Jared guano aka ibwanzingee
hexitnow, much appreciated guys. I sucsessfully downgraded 2 PSP's for a m8 at work this morning and it worked a treat. I'm sure I will now have a cue waiting for me when I go back to work :)

A wee question as I'm a wee bit confused. Another m8 has just bought a UK slim & light. Can I put the new M33 CFW on it and if so could someone point me to a difinitive thread. I have had a good look, honest, but with so many pandora threads is getting a bit confusing.
