How much of looser I must be, I can't even get past step 1

1) Use mspformat.exe from the Pandora's Folder to format the Memory Stick.

*Open any folder, From the upper menu select Tools-->Folder Options...-->View-->unmark "Hide Extensions for known File Types"--> Apply an then OK.

*Then Copy the "mspformat.exe" from the mspformat folder inside the Padora's Folder to [My Computer/C:]

I've downloaded the file linked here but I just cant find "mspformat.exe" anywhere in there.

well i hardmodded my battery sorta.. i think >_<. well the psp isnt loading with that battery.... i use the usb plug and then turn it on (without the battery), then i insert the battery.. then the energy bar shows up and it'll be at one bar, then go to 100%. well after like 10 seconds.. i get the gray screen that i'm out of battery.. well does that mean that my battery is messed up? sigh, my brother checked it and said that there should be nothing wrong with the power supply of it T_T. what am i to do? is this normal for hardmodded batteries?

well have you unzipped it using winRAR?

well in the extracted folder it should be pandora>mspformat>mspformat.exe

The file I downloaded was a self-extracting file. All I had to do is run it to install... no ZIPs, RARs, ARCs to open in winnrar. I was able to get all the files needed from another guide, I just wanted to post in here now to maybe alert someone to the problem I had. Check it out for yourself, here's the link and file I downloaded. (link provided at beginning of thread)Easy installer, nary a mspformat.exe or rar to be found in it. :)

If I'm crazy then please ignore me.... for now.

You have to downgrade first using Lumines or Pandora's battery in order to run those programs.

I'm sure that you need the 1.50 kernel, which isn't available on the Slim... But people says you can create a JigKick using a Slim so..

Oh yeah, click here. It may help.

Hey guys.. I need your help. I'm starting to really freak out here. I've already create a pandora's battery on my friend's psp. I've use mspformat to format logically and i've installed the files on the memory stick (SanDisk 256 MB MS Pro Duo). When i insert the memory stick in the psp then instert the battery the power light goes on, and that's all it does, no light flashing nothing on the screen.. and i'm 100% sure the psp is still good because it starts up normally using a power cord. Please help. thanks!

^^Pandora battery works fine on the slim-you just need the DCv3 setup for it...You run the same risk of bricking as you do updating your official firmware.

Follow the guide?

2) Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
3) Re-Connect the Memory Stick again via the USB connection of the PSP.
4) Install files using the installer!
5) Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
6) Reinsert the memory stick and run the app "battery creator" on the psp.
7) Save Eeprom (the app will close)...Re-open the app and press x to convert battery.
8) You've got yourself magic memory stick + jigkick!

If you're using the older version of Pandora (It only allow you to downgrade to 1.5 version) Den you will only be seeing a black screen on a slim PSP and nothing else. Juz press 'X' and let it run, once the LED for memory card stops blinking, press 'X' again and everything should be done ^^

1st:Once you HardMod it, it should already be a Jigkick batt, no program needed.

2nd:U won't need a 2nd PSP if u already have the magic stick. What ppl said about needing a 2nd PSP is because, you;ll need a PSP with Custom firmware in order to create the magic stick.

Hopes this helps ^^

I have upgraded to 3.80 before I actually knew about all this and I'm try to install Pandora on my psp and it's a Slim. Every time I start the installation, my psp restarts like it should and I get the error msg "the game could not be started (8002014c)". I have searched the to get this error msg resolved, and I know about the power off the psp, take out the battery, hold R, and power up the psp, and the configure screen will appear. Well, in my case... WRONG. I've pressed ever button on the damn thing and nothing is happening. Any suggestion or have anyone else had this problem?
