I've searched the recovery mode but could't find anything. Do i need to search for a fat one (with 1.50 kernel support)? or is it any other way to make a magic ms with my slim 3.60 m33?

Thank you!
SLIM PSP's don't have 1.50 kernel. But you don't need it.

Go HERE and follow the guide on creating the Magic Memory Stick that will recover a PSP FAT/SLIM straight to 3.71 M33-2.
larry, i created a magic memory stick with a 1gb stick, what do di do if i want to use a 4gb stick, transfer the settings to the 4gb stick?

You're in luck. Well, kinda.

http://www.pspmod.com/forums/firmware/17...e-tutorial.html

That's the guide for you.

By the way, before doing anything, upgrade to 3.50 to use the tutorial.

I'm sure this downgrader will work on all PSPs. And you must have Lumines UNPATCHED. You can tell if it's unpatched because the update on the unpatched one is 3.50 and the update on the patched Lumines has 3.51 update. The best place to get Lumines unpatched are from the internet. BTW, you can use the JigKick, but it's more easier to downgrade using Lumines.

It is, but there is a slightly small chance that'll it'll brick your PSP, in which case then you'd definately need to get yourself a Jigkick and Magic Memory Stick

Oh yeah, it's more easier to use Lumines because you need to create the JigKick but you have official firmware and that's a problem.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203#3571746

If you want to downgrade with no chance of bricking, then use that link. I guide you on how to create a JigKick without a CFW enabled PSP.

My psp is cracked already. But when I downloaded some games they dont work.
I guess it needs a newer version of firmware
The person who did it for me moved.
When I power up the system, and hold down the "R" it says the homebrew kernel is 1.50
The "System Software 3.10 OE-A"

Can someone help me update the version that I have. I'm obviously new to all of this.
Any HELP would be nice.

Go HERE to update to 3.52 M33-4

Then follow the above guide if you want 3.71 M33-2 formware. You need 3.52 m33-4 installed before installing 3.71 M33-2 so make sure you first update to 3.52 m33-4.

so i got my psp from a friend of mine, and he has some things already done for me, i dont know how much it is or if it is right. he has the following on the memory stick:

"homebrew for FW2.xx+devhook"
"escape devhook from Fw2.xx"
"devhook firmware installer"
"DEVHOOK0.46 launcher"
"UMD DAX Dumper Beta 0.2"

and it is version 1.50 so what else do i need to do?

Well I am to lazy to answer your question.

I hope no one else does either.

But I'm sure someone will come along and tell you what to do even tho you don't deserve an answer.

Get rid of...

"homebrew for FW2.xx+devhook"
"escape devhook from Fw2.xx"
"devhook firmware installer"
"DEVHOOK0.46 launcher"
"UMD DAX Dumper Beta 0.2"

All of that is outdated.

Install custom firmware. It is more stable and easier to use.

Since your at 1.50 go HERE and follow the directions to install 3.52 M33-4 custom firmware (format your memory stick before installing 3.52 M33-4 and format the Memory Stick after you have updated to 3.52 M33-4 so new folder directories can be made for you to place PSP games and homebrew in).

Once at 3.52 M33-4 firmware place the ISO/CSO PSP game files in the ISO folder.

Place 1.50 homebrew in the /PSP/GAME150 folder. Place homebrew that requires 2.XX firmware or higher in the /PSP/GAME folder.

Go HERE and follow the steps to get your ISO/CSO games working properly.

You can rip UMD disc to your PC by following the below steps.

When at XMB (PSP Main menu) press the HOME button and the VSH menu should come up. Go down to USB MODE and select UMD and exit out of the VSH menu. Now connect your PSP to PC via USB and your UMD will be accessed for you to rip the ISO off the disc. After it has riped rename the ISO to the title of the game you have riped. Don't forget to change the USB mode back to memory Stick after you have finished ripping the UMD.

Well.. there's plenty of guides.... just if your a "lazy" type person, i dont think you should even bother, the process to downgrading your psp takes a lot of attention and brain power...

but if you feel unlazy about it, you should just read this guide.

this one if you have access to an already downgraded psp
this one if you don't have access to an already downgraded psp

Dear friends(gurus),

You guys are really great!!!

First of all, I apologize for taking your time. I went thru all the threads in here, and even on other sites (QJ). I have a few missing links and thought of asking you. All the threads refer to having a FAT psp to create the pandora battery and the magic memory stick.

I just bought a new slim psp with 3.72 original FW. I want to also downgrade my psp to a CFW.

However, I dont have friends with a FAT psp. Therefore, I decided to buy a real red pandora FAT battery from ebay. This seemed to be the only option.

1. Do i still need a FAT psp to create the magic MS?

2. If no, could you please kindly post the link here for the guide to create the magic MS with my slim psp?

3. If yes, is there any other way to make the magic ms (other than buying a ready one in ebay - they sell that too)?

4. Could you please post a link here for the guide that explains using the pandora battery and the magic ms for upgrading the slim psp? (apologies for asking this, but i saw so many links, i am totally confused).

Thanks very much for your support!
