"UMD DAX Dumper Beta 0.2"
All of that is outdated.
Install custom firmware. It is more stable and easier to use.
Since your at 1.50 go HERE and follow the directions to install 3.52 M33-4 custom firmware (format your memory stick before installing 3.52 M33-4 and format the Memory Stick after you have updated to 3.52 M33-4 so new folder directories can be made for you to place PSP games and homebrew in).
Once at 3.52 M33-4 firmware place the ISO/CSO PSP game files in the ISO folder.
Place 1.50 homebrew in the /PSP/GAME150 folder. Place homebrew that requires 2.XX firmware or higher in the /PSP/GAME folder.
Go HERE and follow the steps to get your ISO/CSO games working properly.
You can rip UMD disc to your PC by following the below steps.
When at XMB (PSP Main menu) press the HOME button and the VSH menu should come up. Go down to USB MODE and select UMD and exit out of the VSH menu. Now connect your PSP to PC via USB and your UMD will be accessed for you to rip the ISO off the disc. After it has riped rename the ISO to the title of the game you have riped. Don't forget to change the USB mode back to memory Stick after you have finished ripping the UMD.
How do i format my memory stick?
It's on the PSP system, somewhere.
Hey!

You MOD a PSP not crack it. There are plenty of stickied threads that walk you through this. So do a little searching in the forum and you will find what you need.

If you drop it on the floor or something hard you can probably crack it.
Now if you want to MOD the psp then try this - link

Watch the language - post edited.
If you're having problems understanding the whole concept of modding the psp then it may not be the right thing for you to do. BTW googling 'modding a psp' gave me 678,000 results.

Refusing to search pretty much puts you on the fast track of being ignored. Stop being lazy and do some searching.

i agree with larry, search "universal psp downgrader" and that'll probably lead you to everything you need to know..
it's not quick or easy to mod a psp so you might aswell not bother...
if you're not bothered to search for the solution then you wont be bothered to go through the whole mod process... ¬_¬
people... stop being so damn lazy ¬_¬
i see you've altered your opinion towards helping lazy people larry huh? =p

To all the starter noobs out there, it really helps to research first before buying/asking anything you dont know. Thanks to everyone here I can start hacking my psp with confidence. Thanks alot everyone, and happy holidays!!
I'm back! And I'm proud to say I am now a owner of a custom moded slim psp! Took me a while to actaully do the moding cause I've been waiting ages for codejunkies usa website to actually work... (they are notorious for having server down time for weeks on end) so I got tired of their lack luster service (cant trust online vendors who have no other way of contact except through a website that is always down) I decided to hard mod the slim battery that came with my slim psp. Instead of lifting the 5th pin like most tutorials say, I followed another one that said to cut the pcb line here After sucessfully installing the CFW I unmoded my slim battery by using a mechanical soft lead pencil, and repeatedly went over the pcb line that was cut. Now it works like a normal battery! I take no credit for this method, it has been passed around through various forums and I dont know who the genius creator was, but it works perfectly! The hardest part was just cutting the battery open.
A big thanks to everyone here for the guides and info, and a shout out to the mod scene for all their excellent work!

So, at the moment, what firmware are you on? If it's official, it's most likely a "broken key", if it's custom, then it's presumably a variation of the (DADADADA) error, to stop people accidentally upgrading to official firmware.

Go HERE and follow this guide to update to 3.71 M33-2 then update to 3.80.
Don't install 3.71 official with the Universal unbricker because you still need custom firmware to convert the battery back to normal.
So use the Universal Unbricker to install 3.71 M33-2 then convert the Battery to normal. Then you should be able to install the 3.80 official firmware.

I'm new to the PSP mod thing, yet from what I've read on this thread I cannot mod my 3.6 PSP slim without an earlier customized PSP. Is this correct?

No it isn't.
You can use this guide HERE to do it with your Offical firmware PSP.
