Avi2dvd will automatically load the successive files. I just tried it myself and it worked.

Can someone tell me if there's a way to create a menu? I have two separate videos and I would like to have a menu to select from the two. Am I better off encoding each to mpeg separately and then using Nero?

Thanks,
Mike

Actually, if you're using AVI2DVD just check the box that forces it to output to NTSC even if the source material is PAL.

I found an exiting new way to fit XVIDs onto DVD fast.
Well, not so exiting or new. If you use the s-video out (on alot of video cards) and the audio out from your sound card, you can plug in to a (cheap these days) DVD home recorder. You can have a basic DVD of a downloaded tv show in 40 MINUTES. You can fit up to 6 1 hr tv shows (40 minutes without commercials) onto a single DVD. Fast, no transcoding errors, stuttering video, out of sync audio. You can use VLC media player for free to play them to.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Just a thought.

Do you get the warning about illegal characters in the file name? That is your problem, if so. It looks like a standard warning when it's actually telling you those characters are in your file name. Replace any illegal characters with spaces or something allowed and you should see the audio stream.

I think I have the latest version and there is a menu function, but I can't figure it out. And it doesn't let you encode two separate videos. I'm willing to combine separate videos by using the naming convention but would like to be able to easily (key word) create a menu to jump to the second video.

Thanks.

Not sure if this is the right place to be posting - didn't want to start a new thread with a similar title.

Have just tried using DivXtoDVD to get some AVI files onto DVD. It has produced 3 VOB files which can be seen by Nero, but when it comes to burning them off, Nero says that the files have failed a compliance test.

When I use the burn DVD option in DivXtoDVD, it won't open the folder at all, yet I used the program to convert the files. Am very confused! I hate being a novice!

Does anyone have any advice? Am hoping to burn 3 AVI files onto one dvd that will eventually play on a regular dvd player.

I have a version of DVD Shrink too, but that cant find the files either, yet when I click on them, they play with my PC's dvd player.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :o)

I have had the same problem lately. I have used avi2dvd and Imtoo in the past. Worthless programs as far as I am concerned anyway. They either don't convert or they do convert and take hours to do it. DvdSanta has worked very well and fairly quickly up until recently. I have downloaded some movies in AVI format. I can't play them on wmv player but they play fine on my DivX player. However when I try to convert the movie into dvd format to burn onto a dvd,.dvdsanta says there was an error and unable to load movie file.
Any ideas ?

Hello folks.

I have successfully converted an XviD-encoded .AVI file to DVD (mpg).
The output file is of a completely manageable size... no errors, I am happy. HOWEVER - I don't like the way the converter has handled the motion within the piece - if you watch the two side by side you see that the converted file is slightly jerky (most people wouldn't notice it). The original is very smooth. Is there some kind of filtration going on? Is there an encoder that understands this issue and can compensate for it? Is this perhaps an artefact of the conversion to PAL?

Some technical information:

Input file: 29.970fps XviD MPG4 file @ 704*396 (16:9)
Output: PAL DVD 720*576 (16:9) 25fps Encoding @ CBR

I'm currently using MainConcept MPEG encoder.

Thanks

Thanks Octopi,.I tried mainconcept and it works good and very fast. I am still having troubles with some movies tho, some .AVI some DivX and some XviD. I have tried using MainConcept, DvdSanta, DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink,When trying to load the movie file for burning, I get an error message saying either "No video data can be found" or "unable to open such and such file"
Any suggestions ? I have gotten some movies to burn using Main concept that no other siftware would burn, and have tried using Decryptor to open it or covert it to an iso image file,..but that won't work either because it won't load the movie file.

Hey guys, ive got a mpeg4 and I want to convert it to DVD, however when opening up ConvertXToDVD the file size of the DVD is 7GB and I want to try and fit it onto a DVD5. Is there any program that can allow me to put it onto a DVD5 without losing too much quality?

hey Sick,..I don't know much about mpeg4 and DVD5 etc. but I use DVD Shrink to shrink dvd's to fit blank dvd's. It basically just takes the previews, menu and extra features off the original dvd and burns just the movie onto the blank dvd without losing quality.
Hope it works for ya.

Goochee,..you can find most any software for free on Shareaza. I have used many P2P networks for music, movies and software and have had the best luck with Shareaza,..no adware etc. Of course you have to becareful with viruses downloading any files on a P2P network, but with the right precautions,.I have had no troubles at all finding any software or movies etc.
