no offence dude, but sendspace speeds suck if you use the free version. i tried to download twice and it would pause at 73%. it was so bad that i had to buy the weeks membership(Only 5.00). But i also wanted to thank you because with this it makes it much more easier to make my batteries. and sell them on ebay for a pretty pennie

No offense taken but your the second 1 that has brought up the speed issue. I made this guide to help others. I do this for free and ask for nothing in return. Opon that I use the free file hosting service as well. So if anyone has an issue with it do as _H06_ has done and buy an account yourself.

If you don't want to spend the money or wait for the download to finish then find another guide to follow.

If anyone else can direct me to a faster free file hosting service I will gladly upload the files to it. Just PM me the information. We don't need 20 post of everyone recommending me a file sharing site in the guide section.

Thanks a lot for this. It helped out a lot since UPMS doesn't work for 3.80 m33 at the moment.

Gotta say, this is the best guide/software pack for repairing bricked PSP's! The longest part of the process was waiting for the files to download, but hey, it's free!

Thanks a lot, it's not fun when your daughter unplugs the USB whilst restoring a Flash0 backup!

nice one looks pretty easy can't wait to try it out. Hey in this tutorial is there a way to keep the Pandora Battery but use as normal and just call upon Pandora when I want too? and once the Mgaic Stick is made can I save it onto my PC as a back-up for future use?

I love psobb but i need a credit card # to get back on :(

You can install the Boosters IPL (Option 2) at the beginning of the Easy Installer. You will need to do this for all Memory Sticks you use on the PSP that has the Pandora Battery. If you apply this to the Magic memory Stick you will need to hold down L or R Trigger (I can't remember which 1) to boot into the Pandora Menu.

It doesn't actually say in the read me file. So I would recommend installing all updates instead of going straight to update 4. This only takes a minute to do and you could have done it by now instead of waiting 18 hours to get an answer.

The same way you install custom firmware to any PSP when using a Pandora Battery plus Magic Memory Stick. Follow the guide and you will figure it out.

Hi,

At the beginning of the guide, I see that this works to unbrick PSPs also. I just don't see how I can use the XMB functions on a bricked PSP (i.e. to create a pandora's battery). I have a CFW fat PSP w/ 3.71-m33 that is semi-bricked courtesy of the firmware spoofer. I see the red background with 8-9 languages, all stating that a "Serious Error has occurred" right after the Sony Logo on boot.

After that, nothing happens. No XMB, nothing. I can hit select to go to the UMD settings menu, or hold R and power-up to see the recover menu. But no XMB.

Can someone direct me to the right thread in the forum to free me from this Red Screen of Death?

EDITED: I see what I am doing wrong. The assumption is that using this on another CFW PSP, I create the Pandora Battery digitally. THen use that battery to recover the bricked PSP...

Since I don't have another CFW PSP, but I DO have access to the Recovery Console on this one still, any suggestions on how to recover? I suspect I need a specific file to be in the GAME\RECOVERY\ folder. Where to get that file is where I am running into some diffuculties.

RE-EDITED: This guide here took care of business:

You have two options...

Go HERE and follow the bottom part of the guide for a semi-bricked PSP. Make sure you use the 3.71 M33 recovery folder for semi-brick issues. Using this option will downgrade the PSP back to 1.50 then you will have to update back up to 3.71 M33.

If you use this guide HERE you can create a Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick with a semi-bricked PSP. This option will automatically install 2.71 M33-2 to the PSP.

Use a friends PSP with custom FW to create the magic stick and then use his battery and the magic stick when instructed to remove/insert. (format the MMS after) This guide works like a charm. You cant do anything with yours its Bricked ;)
