PANDORA GUIDE:
Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery Tool. Press X at warning screen to get to Main Menu.
Select "backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin"
After the eeprom is backed up go to "convert to service mode"
Go to Quiet Now after the Battery has been converted and it will exit to XMB.
Turn off the PSP and take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery back in the PSP and the Universal Unbricker Menu should come up. press X to install 3.71 M33 to the PSP.
So, do I turn off my (3.80M33-5) PSP and put the battery and mem-stick in the bricked PSP and continue guide?
I just dont' want to start the unbricking on my (3.80M33-5) by accident.
Thanks in advance. I hope this makes sense. Much appreciated for the guide too. Nice work!

yes once you have made the Magic Stick+Pandora Battery take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery back in the PSP and the Universal Unbricker Menu should come up. press X to install 3.71 M33 to the PSP

I love psobb but i need a credit card # to get back on :(

The files will now be installed to the Memory Stick.

After it has finished writing the files you will get an image similar to below. Just type Y and ENTER to finish the instillation of files to the Magic memory Stick.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h141/larrylje/writeboot.jpg

during this step i dont get that message in the image that asks me to push yes to continue i get another that says the people who created the program and then it closes after i push a button

that's strange that didn't happen to me i got the image and press y and it didn't come up

Quote:the people who created the program and then it closes after i push a button

The reason the credits come up is because when you are asked to format you typed y then took the ms out and exited usb before you were prompted to do so the reason i know this is because i done the same 3 times then on 4th try i waited for the installer to prompt me to take it out and it worked fine hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
Even when I waited for the prompt to remove the MS, the same thing happens to me, but instead of cutting to the credits it says 1 file copied about 10 times real fast then the credits roll.

The "PSP MS IPL Installer" never shows up, which is obviously the issue because like you said, the IPLs are necessary.
Hi Guys, i think i have finally nail this. I was stuck with this problem and guess what, after some serious thinking, i expanded the installation files at the c:\ root directory of my computer and run it from there and it work. Some dos files it use doesn't work well when the pathname is too long. That also explain why some of us are stuck and some of us are not.

This is where i put initially,
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Administrator\My Documents\!System Download\Psp\Firmware\Univer_File\EasyInstaller\Start.exe

This is where i put to make it work,
C:\Univer_File\EasyInstaller\Start.exe

Hope this help.

Have you put a UMD in your PSP? OR Have you set your settings to no UMD required?

As stated above R-Trigger brings you to recovery menu.

But if you don't have custom firmware installed yet to the PSP this will not work.

What are you trying to run when the Game Could Not Be started error comes up?

Why are you posting this problem in this thread?

This is for installing custom firmware to the PSP using a Universal Unbricker.

Do you even have custom firmware on your PSP?

In order for this guide to work you need to run the Pandora Application on a custom firmware PSP.

If you only have access to an Official firmware PSP then you will need to use a Hardmodded Battery or buy a Datel Tool Battery. Use this guide HERE if you only have an Official Firmware PSP.

You can not run the Pandora Application on a Official Firmware PSP. So your only choice is using the other guide I provided and Hardmod the Battery to a Pandora battery or buy a Datel Tool Battery.

The only way you can use this guide and run the Pandora application is if you have a custom firmware PSP which your PSP does not have custom firmware on it. That is why your getting the "Game could not be started" error.

It doesn't need to be repaired. There is nothing the shop can do for you unless they themselves put custom firmware onto your PSP for you.

The issue is Official firmware can not run unsigned code. The Pandora Battery Application is not signed by Sony so it can not be run on Official firmware PSP.

The only way you can fix this issue is by installing custom firmware to the PSP. In order for you to do this you will need another PSP that has custom firmware or use your Official firmware PSP and a Hardmodded Battery or Datel Tool Battery.

Yes buy a Datel Tool battery.

Then run the easy installer to make the Magic memory Stick then place the Datel Tool Battery into the PSP. Then the menu will come up letting you install 3.71 M33-2 to your PSP.

After it has been installed replace the Datel Tool battery with your normal battery.

Thanks,

Im sorry for the questions but:

With the guide, I am ONLY using a Fat PSP to make the magic stick and pandora battery. At what point do I use them to downgrade the slim PSP running 3.71 official FW.

Thanks
