When the prompt goes to format the memory stick, it asks me for a Volume Label (it tells me to hit ENTER for none). What is this that they are asking for? It also says "Warning: No DPMI-server FPU support before it extracts all the files onto the MS.
Are these things supposed to happen? Because I can not get this to work...

Hi All
I have a bricked PSP here that was bricked whilst upgrading to the current official firmware.
I have plugged it into my PC and the PC does not find it, and I cannot access the recovery menu, can this fix help me? as without my PC finding the PSP I cannot see how it can.
Thanks for your help

Try it with a memory card reader. I was able to do the memory stick part with the memory stick in my photo printer and not in the psp. You have to get a pandora battery from some where.

Then try using a different memory Stick.
There is nothing wrong with the guide so you need to try other options like XP instead of Vista and different Memory Sticks etc. etc.
Try placing the magic memory Stick in first then the Battery and vice-versa Place the Battery in first then the Magic memory Stick.

The files are all in their proper place no need to move anything. Just do what the guide says to do. Run the easy installer then Drag the PSP Folder and the 150 EBOOT to the ROOT of the Memory Stick.
The first firmware that will be installed is 3.71 M33-2 Universal Unbricker V3 part of the Magic memory Stick.
Now users have the choice to either update to 3.71 M33-4 or go straight to 3.80 M33 and update to 3.80 M33-4 custom firmware.
@IronFlame
Follow the guide to make the Magic Memory Stick,
Now the Universal Unbricker part of the Magic memory Stick will install 3.71 M33-2 by pressing X. After it has installed 3.71 M33-2 convert your Battery back to normal.
Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run MUX 2.0 and select 3.80 M33 update in the list (the memory Stick Led will flash for a few seconds). Now EXIT out of the program and the 3.80 M33 update is now listed under Game Menu Memory Stick for you to RUN.
After it updates to 3.80 M33 then start MUX 2.0 again and this time choose 3.80 M33-2 in the list. The UPDATE will be now written to the GAME Memory Stick like the above and you can run it under Game Menu memory Stick.
Then keep doing those steps till 3.80 M33 is updated to 3.60 M33-4
I know this is diffrent but I think it is easy if you just folow the guide properly. Plus this gives everyone the option to either install 3.71 M33-4 or 3.80 M33-4 custom firmware.

Quote: Take out the Memory Stick and then disable the USB.
Then insert the Memory Stick and enable the USB again.
Then Press any key to continue
Just to be sure, you take out the memory stick with the PSP in USB Mode ON, than disable it and insert it and than turn the USB on?
Doesn't taking the memory stick out while the PSP is in use with it damage it?

Just making the Magic memory Stick will not let you install the custom firmware to the PSP.
You need to create the Pandora battery and then use the Magic memory Stick along with the Pandora Battery to install the 3.71 M33-2 to the PSP. Then you can start using the ADD ON stuff I provided with it.
