i wonder if someone could help me...
i tried some things to normal boot my psp slim with pandora battery, but i messed up something. so, i formatted my memory stick from pc, because psp didn't boot with pandora or without it anymore, put on universal unbricker and select to install custom firmware. it stopped at formatting flash1. i tried to install original firmware but it stopped again.
i googled my problem, but i haven't found any useful information what can i do.

sorry for my bad english.

Hey,

I am also having a problem.

I have a slim psp

Whenever I put my Pandora battery in the PSP and turn on the psp, only the green power light comes on. The memory stick light DOES NOT come on or flash at all. I have to hard reset the PSP to turn it off (Hold UP the power switch for 10 seconds whenever I want to turn it off).

But, when the slim battery is in the PSP everything works.

Have i damaged the battery when I was trying to make it a Pandora one because I think i made a little cut on the chip/motherboard on the battery.

Thanks....

In hope

You will need to repartition flash 1 since it is corrupt. Go HERE and read through this thread for more information on how to resolve this issue.

This is normal for the Pandora Battery. make sure you have the Magic memory Stick in the PSP. Try inserting the Memory Stick first then the Pandora Battery. If that doesn't work try placing in the Pandora battery in first then the Memory Stick.

If you still have issues recreate the magic memory stick again. You might need to try using a different memory stick. If you running Vista as an OS on your PC find a PC running XP.

I've downloaded and extracted the files, I can run the program, format the memory stick, but when I get to the point where I would select option 4 (Universal Unbrick) it copies 7 files and then gives me an error message about not running this program on an x64 Windows sytem.

It seems to have copied the files over, but I'm not sure.

My hard-modded battery is dead at the moment and I can't seem to get it to take a charge, so I guess I have other problems, but I was wondering if anyone else had run into the x64 error message and if there was a work around for it.

--Edit to add--
I'm running Windows XP SP2.

Thanks!

You need to hold the R-Trigger down.

hello, sorry for bothering again. i have one more question.

i have pandora battery and i can't turn it back to normal. and i have psp slim. can i boot normal with that?
i tried psp normal boot and psp multi boot, i've followed this guide, the "How to install Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader" part.

if tried to boot normal with pandora battery, the power led turned on for a second and that was all. if i held left trigger, i came to pandora boot menu (press x to install 3.71, blah, blah..)

i'm using cfw 3.71 m33-2.

thanks for your help!

This seems like a very straightforward guide, and I look forward to updating my PSP once my TOOL battery arrives (hopefully in a week or so). I have already gone and installed a small XP partition just so I can do this (and because of any possible compatibility issues I might have in the future), so I'm ready to go and quite excited to see what sorts of things people have allowed the PSP to do. Thanks!

because you cannot run the memory stick normally; official firmware cannot run unsigned code, which custom firmware is. that's where the battery comes in. it bypasses flash0 and runs the memory stick ipl, which is the installer menu.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

The battery puts the psp in service mode allowing you to install the custom firmware from the memory stick.

I didn't watch the video but you need both the pandora battery and magic memory stick to get custom firmware installed.

They're probably modding a compatible Sony psp battery (google for which are compatible). Never modded one myself so can't help you there.

Your other opinion is buying a Datel Tool Battery instead of modding the battery like this guide shows.

No, you see the official firmware will not run any of those applications, which is part of why you want to customize your PSP in the first place. What they're demonstrating is a program that can reprogram your battery without the hardware mod, but that program only runs on a modified PSP, so this guide is the only way I have seen for a person who doesn't have access to a modified PSP or a Pandora battery to create both. I've opted to buy a Pandora battery, as my soldering iron has a fairly large tip, and I'm nervous about potentially ruining my battery. Plus, it seems like a small price to pay for something that increases the functionality of the PSP so much.

Sorry if it has already been mentioned, but I want to know which Datel Tool Battery I should get, I have a Slim. I know I could just get a Slim battery, but then some of my friends wouldn't be able to mod their PSPs because they have Fats. If I buy the Fat Datel Tool Battery would it work on my Slim?

I just got my battery today and great guide! I an in 3.71m33-2!

But: I am at this part
Quote:
Choose the update by moving the X at the left up and down with the D-Pad. Then press X when you select the update you want. The Memory Stick Led will flash a few seconds (3.80 M33 flashes a little longer) and after it stops flashing you can go to EXIT at the bottom of the list and it will exit to XMB. Now run the UPDATE via Game Menu Memory Stick.
After I open MUX and choose 3.71m33-3 and it blinks and I click exit, it does not update! What "update" are you talking about to press? The PSP Update ver 2.60?

@Gulron
The update is an icon in the game memory stick that will say something like 3.71 m33-3 - that's the update you run.
But why not take it to 3.80 m33-4 / this then update to 3.80 m33-5.

I thought you had to take it to 3.71m33-3 than to 3.71m33-4 no?

If you prefer to do it that way then that's fine - just a few extra steps.
Once you get to 3.80 m33 you can then do the network update to get the latest customer firmwre - it's now set to hit dark alex's site by default.
