No I added that part to the guide just to create extra work for everyone.

Of course you need a Datel tool battery or Mod a battery.

@ larrylje
Thanks for the quick reply. I apologize for taking so long to get back.
I was away for the weekend.

Strangely enough your suggestion didn't work. So this morning i decided to hell with it im gonna take it apart. After finally getting the front cover off I found that the drop knocked one of the ribbon cables loose inside. After taking it out and reseating it properly everything works great including the new battery!

Hopefully others can find this info handy.
Thank you all

Forgive my noob-ness, but this will work on PSP with a TA-082 board, correct? I didn't see anyone having any issues when i read through the thread, but i wanted to make sure before i started spending money on the datel tool and another memory card.

Thanks in Advance!

I've tried this, followed the exact guide you entered here.
I was using my PIN5-less battery, nothing.
Which memory stick will make it work?
- Memory Stick PRO Duo (High Speed) 2GB
- Memory Stick PRO Duo 2GB

???

First off, great guide! larrylje. I have used this to load CFW to my own PSP (which is a slim) plus 3 of my mates PSP's (both phat and slim). The only problems I had was when I did not follow the guide to the letter, ie not putting in 'y' first then pressing enter, DOH!

I also read some people are still having issues with modding their batteries, if I could offer any advice....don't do it! I stuffed 2 batteries before buying a tool battery. Works great

Now I have dusted of all my old ps1 games to run on the PSP! yippeee!!

Thanks again for all the help!

That size memory card isnt recommended but I have a sandisk 4gb card and it works. You might have to do a blind install. Try it on another psp and see if the pandora menu comes up. I have used mine numerous times and had to do a blind install once on a friends psp.

Unplug the the AC Adapter from the PSP and plus leave the battery out. Then plug the AC Adapter back into the PSP and boot.

If you plugged the PSP in before taking the battery out then the files for the Pandora menu will still be loaded. You need to have the battery out and PSP unplugged to clear all those files before plugging it in with AC Adapter.
