In some areas of the world, there have been massive losses of bees. Some parts up to 70%

Maybe they know something we don't?

According to Einsteins theory, If bees were to become instinct, mankind would have 4 years left to live...

We sometimes fail to see our interdependence on other creatures because in the eyes of man they seem so small. The loss of pollinating bees would devastate my home state of Florida since a large part of our economy is agriculture based which requires bee pollination to continue.

Some scientists are currently investigating whether cell phones might play a part in the disappearance of bees, but whatever the cause without them the world would suffer a famine with no equal in mans' history.

A few pages back you guys were taking about the Novel 2010 and Jupiter becoming a giant. Arthur Clark knew his science. In the book(never seen the movie) the obelisks(the black prisms) are reproduced on Jupiter so it has a massive increase in mass.

I thought we already had that with suicide which is taking the human race down one at a time. Vhemt needs to change that to involuntary mass human extinction and then raise Saddam Hussein from the dead. Those of his kind will be happy to help with a little proactive human extinction just to move things along.;P

Did anyone see or take a gateway last Friday (08/08/08)? I didn't hear of one and they didn't send one to my house.

I missed 11/11/1111. So, looks like I'll wait for 20/20/2020. I'll pass on 2012 and the others, they don't have as nice a number sequence. ;)

@Pacy

You still have the beautiful 09/09/09. What a bunch of horse manure. I didn't listen long; did they ever ask for money or a child to be indoctrinated? And the UK people think we're all bonkers. J/K my friends across the pond.

I have to say i didn't listen to it all myself, only the first 30 seconds or so, but i like to keep an open mind on these things.

There are some very intelligent, coherent people that genuinely believe in this kind of thing, and i would be inclined to listen to what they have to say. Unfortunately you get the crack pot brigade that all jump on the bandwagon and make everyone think it's ridiculous.

I suppose we'll know in another four and a half years, won't we? :)

Will there be an extra portal on the 22nd for us procrastinators or do we have to ride it out in hell? Moon man and I are usually late to get onboard.

I think the current thinking on hell is that we're already in it! lol!

I didn't say that i believed what they were saying in that clip (i didn't even listen to all of it) just that there is a lot of unexplained stuff out there and i like to keep an open mind on the possibilities.

If i get there on time i'll ask them can they come back for you?

Ok, i managed 1.53 mins that time! She's a bit over the top, but some of it can be interesting. Take crop circles for example, they've never managed to explain them.

Anyway, to put it this way, if the world ends on 21/12/2012, fine, but i'm still paying into my pension fund at the moment!

I don't think the world will spontaneously end on any date, It's just not logical.

I do however believe that in 50 years or so when all the goverments have exhausted their dismal ideas to save the world from global warming, an order for mass evacuation will be issued and the human race will board somekind of manmade space craft (which is worrying enough as it is lol) and try to find a new planet, but probably end up floating around space for the next few hundred years.

There will of course be those who refused to board said craft (myself included) and together they will try to start anew, the people who stay behind will more than likely be hippies and conservationalists and the like and so they will try to regain some balance in the world and without 90% of the population undoing all their hard work they might actually make somewhat of a difference to the extent that they will live peacefully on their own slowly reforming planet. Most likely they will all live in one city (probably named Atlantis just for ironys sake) and allow the rest of the world to be overrun with growth and wildlife which will undoubtedly bring much needed help the planet.

Of course at some point the rest of the human race (If they still exist) will find out about the reformed home world and will try to return and in doing so will bring their polluting ways back home thus destroying the hard work of all that remained (If i got my way those bastards wouldn't be let back in.)

crop circles have been explained. Good lengths of ropes and some 2x4s and an ingenious mind who can plot it all out. Ever notice there are never burns in the crop circles. The canes all pushed down in same directions. A spaceship landing would not be able to do it. Nor able to evade the sophisticated radar on ground or in the air. Beside what would be the purpose of coming all those miles from where ever, just to make diagrams in corn fields? How many did we draw on the moon or mars or venus.

Hey 'moon. I was next door. LOL

@ SiRXander
Have you seen Battlestar Galactica? Earth has already reformed itself once and the pilgrims are on the way back. ;) Guess they'll have to keep going this time. They can leave those cute Ceylons behind. The tin can models aren't much for looks.

Hippies and conservationists would never get along well. Hippies would want to burn "weed" and the conservationists save it. Besides, what would they ever get done setting around a tree singing Kum Ba Yah? The hippies would probably fall asleep and let the tree catch fire. LOL

It's doubtful many would get off the planet. Scientists can't make a decent battery for the electric cars and fuel cell technology isn't advanced enough yet to mass produce. It would take an infusion of superior alien technology to get things going at this point.

The likely ones to stay Earth bound would be the conservatives and not Hippies and conservationists. Maybe some conversationalists. LOL The conservatives wouldn't believe any of the weird business. When a majority of the population takes that big "space" ride, they'd be left behind with enough resources to keep going.

Well PacMan
I've never really been into battlestar galactica myself (more of a star trek fan lol) so I can't really comment on that but as for the hippie/conservationist I meant it as an all round description although I'm a hippie at heart and I'd much prefer to see the earth grow wild than sit around smoking tis a very stereotypical view of hippies you put forward there, I do agree with the conservative theory though, alot of political types would stay behind in order to run the remaining people and although the people would need to be lead by someone I believe they would not go for the kind of people who caused the whole problem in the first place as for the technology I'm thinking about 50 years ahead and I would also theorize that money is already being spent on researching said technology (one of the good things about humans is we always have a plan B lol) and although a smaller amount of people would mean more resources for all, in 2050 onwards the main concern would be global warming so most resources would go to trying a drastic measure to reversing or fixing that problem.

Thank you for adding to this discussion, you have given me much to ponder

Perhaps you may want to reevaluate your opinion on hippies. I knew some of the true members of the group. There was 2 things they were constantly indulging in (drugs and sex) at the expense of all else. Communes meant sharing. LOL Political protests ran a distant 3rd. True hippies are far Left types. If hugging trees and being an obstructionist bugs "The Man", then they're all for it (while sittin back and token a joint). There was some anarchists that tried to hide in their midst, but they weren't true hippies.

Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica? They're Sci-Fi. The human race has barely improved aeronautics the past fifty years. Computers for the average citizen have only been around for a couple decades. Some things from sci-fi get worked into society, but a good number don't. "Beam me up Scotty." I don't think there'll be massive ships available to ferry hundreds of millions of people into space within the next 50 years, if ever. Besides, if the world ends in 2012, there won't be time to develop anything or anyone to do it.

Don't take this discussion too seriously. ;) I suspect some of us aren't. We've had too many prophets of doom. If a person knew for sure the world would end tomorrow, probably few (if any) would believe it. Even I'd ask for proof. LOL

Baloney!! Having actually lived among genuine hippies and once saw my self as one, baloney again. Real hippies were vegetarians who didn't believe in polluting their bodies with any kind of chemical substances, including food additives. They practiced yoga for physical exercise along with meditation, and the notion of hurting other living things was unthinkable. They didn't eat meat and grew their own organic vegetables. Pot was too many of them a natural substance, but even that had its issues because it required inhaling smoke or cooking it into food. So genuine hippies ate it, but not a one of them would get behind an automobile, touch an alcohol beverage, or do anything that could have a negative impact on others.

Sophocles,

Woodstock Festival 1969 is a perfect example of what you're talking about. 450,000 people ,4 days of music and no violence at all, there were a few drugs floating around though lol
