Format the Memory Stick again and follow this downgrader guide HERE.
You can find the MPH downgrader HERE.
You should already have the 1.50 EBOOT from the previous guide.

Alrighty, I'm up to 3.52 m33-4, changed the kernel to 3.52 in recovery, run mux 2.0, chose 3.71 m33 and it freezes up on me. Now if I turn off and on my psp it is unfrozen but only thing it will allow me to do is exit. I've tried this process on a 2gb memory stick and my brand spanking new 8gb san disk pro duo
Any suggestions and thanks for such a simple tut :)
edit: Still no luck with mux 2.0. I've snatched it from another source, formatted stick, re-put it back on and still freezes. I'm that much closer from jumping off a cliff :(

cozmo_d, im on 3.90m33-3 right now, and it seems to be pretty good, i have another psp running at 4.01 and they both r pretty much the same, but 3.90 has more ctf themes though ( i think)
ok, here's my question, i have a psp at 3.71m33-2 , i used this guide : http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/585933 : to put cfw on my psp, but now i want to upgrade to 3.90, is it possible for a psp at 3.71m33-2 to use this guide?

I guess this doesn't qualify as response worthy and yes I've read over your tut several times.

Run Chilly Willy Key Cleaner (get it HERE) and make sure all keys are good and unpatch key 5.

Thank you Larry for posting this guide. I had just started playing the PSP again after a long break. I stopped upgrading after 3.52 M33-4 first came out a while back. It had everything I needed and I didnt feel the need to upgrade. I recently go back into the PSP after my friend had bricked his PSP and I made a Pandora battery/MMS for him. I used your guide to go from 1.50 to 3.52 M33-4, which is where my PSP is currently. I dont know if I should stay at this level of CFW or should I update to 4.01 M33 anyways? Has there been any major changes / new features since 3.52 M33-4? I haven't had time to look it up. Thanks.

My fat PSP still has firmware 2.60 since I never downgraded. Do I have to downgrade to 1.50 and then do an upgrade from there or can I just go straight to to the latest custom firmware?

Hi, I have fat psp 1003 model. It is currently on 3.03 oe b. I have followed the instructions and still get errors and have read all 15 pages of replies and no one has covered the issue I have.
When I go to 3.52 file to run it I get the error "The game could not be started.(80010002)"
I booted to recovery and changed to 1.5. However then when i run the 3.52 updater the PSP looks like its about to do something, then goes to a black screen and turns off after about 15 seconds. i turn it back on and it has not updated.
I have checked all my settings and just do not know why it is doing this.
Also even though I am on 3.03 oe b the game folder is game and not game150.
Does anyone know what is wrong and why I can not update from 3.03 oe b?

Make sure your PSP is charged above 75% (I would fully charge it) and plugged in via AC Adapter. If it isn't charged to 75% then I think it will just reboot without updating the firmware and will not give you a warning screen about the battery being to low.

Thanks for the reply. Turns out formatting the memory stick and recopying the files down fixed it, very strange!
Just doing 4.01 M33 before trying the last update.

At the latest version, fantastic updater and instructions. I saw on one of the earlier pages about deleting the files. Do I just format the memory stick now from the PSP menu and then put my iso folder back on the memory stick?

Format it via PSP and this will create all folder directories.

Many thanks. Will games played and saved under 3.03 oe b still have their game saves work under 4.01? Saw someone mention the save files changed at 3.40?

I need more help. I'm @ 3.52 m33-4, and I want to go from there to 4.01 M-33. I followed the guide, now here is where I get stuck. I need the 401.pbp update file. When it asks "do you want to connect to the internet?", I have wireless access but I dont know the WPA key to my router so I have no wireless connection from my PSP to my router, and I can't continue from there. I tried to download the 401.pbp and put it in the \UPDATE folder myself, and when back and ran the program again. It looked like it was going to go but stops at "Please wait..." and theres no disk activity (no flicker on the MS light). I tried changing the kernel to 3.52 and back to 1.5, still the same result.
If there is another way I can update by just moving the file(s) around, or something else I can try, can someone please help. thanks!
