For those who had tried SSBB on their wii with a wiikey. Does your other backup still works? Since i heard after they play SSBB their older backup didnt work and they had to replace his Wiikey. So can anyone confirm that other backup stillworks?

When you play SSBB was your tv on 50-60 hz? I was trying to change my tv setting to 50-60hz, but I cant since I dont have that option...Mine only have HDTV and some other one. So because I cant change to 50-60hz I cant play SSBB now?

So do I brickblock the DVD9 image before I burn it?
Or is it not necessary because it's the full game?

Yes you use brickblocker on the DVD9 before you burn. Go download the newest Brickblocker because that one works on Dual Layer disc....

DVD9 SSBB Not successful with 15% trick
[3.1usa + argon 1.4]
[verbatim +R DL X8 , Imgburn, Asus Dvd buner]
I burned regionfrii-DVD9 (DISC- A) and Regionfrii+BBk DVD9 (DISC B). I burned it at speed 2.4/4, follow the instruction of slow speed.
All softwares are latest versions.

Tried the 15% update trick(for three times), not successful.
First put disc A, do the update, unplug when about 15%
When I put in Disc B, it boots and creates a save data, then after loading game I got a white screen with nothing.

Anybody successful with no duplicated channels? Please reply.

I know other guys have successful experience with [3.1usa + argon 1.4], 100% updated by ssbb, and got two duplicated channels, but play perfectly.

my chip: Argon...1.4
my console: utsc-usa 3.1
It turns to be a bad burn.

I burned 3 discs with different speeds. one in 2X, one in 2.4X, the working one is 8X. All are Verbatim +R DL 1-8X.
Following the instruction of wiinja team, set the value of L0 sector.
But wiinj team also recommend using low write speed...so I use 2X, get a white screen; try again use 2.4X, white screen again.

Using 8X, works perfectly.
Now I recommend use the design speed of your disc. Donot do the slow speed!

However thank wiinja team! You guys makes d2c console can play SSBBX!
Thanks

Its having trouble reading the disc. Try to press the a button to bypass the first movie sequence or burn slower with better media.

I spent a week to read all the posts before I burned the DVD9 of Brawl.
My system is Wii 3.1U, 1.9g wiikey.
I was able to play SMG after the 1.9g update and before that all other backups. -:).

I burned the Brawl on Memorex +R DL with 1x speed. My burner is used exclusively for Wii burn so I can say it is in pristine condition.

Popped the disc in, it asked for update and I let it update all the way 100% w/o interupption.
As the result, I got 2 extra channels: News and Japanese channel.
The Brawl appeared on the disk chanel. The disc was loaded OK. I got the first screen with Brawl logo and some muic.
After I clicked Start, I got black screen with the loading cursor rolling. After 10sec, I got a white blank screen and suddenly I got the green screen with 2 lines of Japanese and the word Wii was in those 2 line. My console was frozen after that.
As someone in this forum said, those 2 lines are about the illegal device detected.

To make sure, I popped the SMG disc in again and had no trouble playing it.

SO, what is wrong here ?
1. The Disc got to be OK because it was recognized by Wii and the load was proceeded at some level.
2. My console was still able to play SMG after all.
3. I set my console to Region Free and 3x speed using the combo of
GCOS and CONFIG 1.3 discs.

Many reported that they had no problem playing Brawl DVD9 with Wiikey.
I believe my Wiiky is good also but it looked like my Wiikey was stopped by Brawl new security feature, and it is hard to believe that the Wiikey chips can act differently from console to console.

DId I miss any step ? Please advise.

Update: I burned the ISO DVD9 into a DBD5 disc and I could play the multi-player mode. The single palyer mode, story mode gave me the green screen with 2 lines of Japanese with the word OFF in the middle.

THis screen, as others said, indicated that the Wii had trouble reading the disc.

So, I conclude that the ISO is good and I don't expect the Wiikey team to release any fix because most likely there is nothing wrong with Wiikey 1.9g and Brawl. I would pay my attention into the way I burned the DL disc, the disc quality, etc.

Will post updates soon.

Update: Setting the DL Layer Break L0 at 2084960 in ImgBurn solved the problem. After all, nothing wrong with Wiikey or any mod chips.

Happy like crap

I dont know about the DVD9 version because I dont have a copy. However I do have the DVD5 version and did the 15% method and its works. So i dont know what u did wrong. My wii is NTSC , 3.1U, 1.9g. All my other backups still works fine. Maybe it your media or bad burn? Try to use high quality disc like Sony,Vertiberm(cant spell it correct..>.<), TDK, and other high quality. I burn my DVD5 on a Sony DVD+R at the speed of 3x and it works perfectly on the first try too. So i suggest that you try better media....=/

With Anyone mode only works with people in your own region I believe. Thus no one connects to you.

Friend codes work, though.

Hello.

I downloaded ssbb but I was unaware of the whole brickblocking thing.. ssbb fully updated my system, once it was finished updating the game didnt start. So I looked on the internet and succesfully installed wiikey 1.9G. But it still wouldnt load. I tried to load some other versions and wii firmware but nothing worked and now Im affraid that my wii has been bricked. Now I understand that there is no solution at this time. My question now is: If a new game comes out with new firmware will my wii be able to update again? or is my wii screwed? Something else I heard was that you can unbrick ur wii by nintendo for a fee... anyone got any info on that?
I have a pal system btw.

thx in advance!

U haven't bricked your wii if you cant play brawl. If you cant play other games, then u have bricked it. Check if you can go to settings. if you cant ur wii is semi-bricked. BTW wait for a new pal game, and if the game disc loads then thats all you can try. GL. The disc should load because you said that the 1.9g disc loaded.
