The DL I have is 8,511,160,320 bytes.

Thanks!
The DL size is correct. You can take the DL iso to burn into a DVD5 disc and you can play the multi-palyer mode.

Can confirm SSBB (Dairantou Smash Brothers X) DVD9 works with NTSC(3.1U) with ARGON 1.5 beta firmware.

Used Sony (RITEK D01) DL media. I bought a 10 pack for $20 at Walmart. Burned at 2.4X with the 2084960 layer break.

Made sure Wii was updated fully before applying the NTSC(J) update all i got was dupe weather/news channels (Wii settings are fine).

Hello there, I have a Japanese 3.1J wii with Wiikey.

I downloaded the caravan DL version of sssb. However when I burnt it on my TDK DVD+R DL at 2.4x speed, I put it into the wii and it came up with the white screen.

I was wondering, is this due to?
- Not setting layerbreak to 2084960?
- because Im Using Nero 8?
- Using DVD+R DL instead of DVD-R DL?
- Using TDK media, instead of using Sony or Verbatim?
- Not using Wiikey 1.9g?

I was wondering what my problem is and how to fix it, because I have tired to press "A" continuously before the white screen.

I had the same problem. All u do is update wiikey to wiikey 1.9g. It will run twice. Then it will say reboot galaxy. Instead reboot brawl

I would install 1.9g as suggested above and also change these 2 steps...

Download IMGBurn (it is free) from HERE.

Start IMGBurn and load the SSBB ISO. Now go to Tools/Settings when the settings window comes up go to Write Tab and select "Use Specified" radial in the Layer Break option section. Then type 2084960 and click OK to close the settings box.

You also might want to booktype the media to DVD-ROM. Do this by selecting the little book in the bottom right corner. A booktype window will come up letting you select the burner brand TAB you have. Then for the "Change For" section select "Drive For DVD+R DL Media" then for "New Setting" select "DVD-ROM".

Now set the burn speed at the rated burn speed for that media and burn.

There are numerous modchip users that have had the issue with White Screen when booting. The Winja team found setting the layer break at the point fixes the issue and lets the Backup boot past the White Screen. It just happens that doing that will pretty much work with all Modchips even D2C.

Does anyone know if Nintendo is now going to use DL discs for most of their games like Mario Kart Wii in the future?

If you are using the DVD9 backup ISO then yes you should.

I don't think every new game will be dual layer, but we have to zoom that some games will have dual layer. As for Mario Kart Wii I would not be surpised to see that Mario Kart is dual layer.

Hi

I'm using Australian PAL Wii with firmware 3.1E + WiiKey 1.9G.

I was getting the Error 001 msg with DVD 9 version and tired the config disk to change the speed from x 6 to x 3 but it didn't work for me.

However when I tited the swaping trick ( change the disk from DVD 5 to DVD 9 at the "press any button" screen) it did worked and now I'm enjoyning the game.

DVD used for Burning the Game:
Verbatim Dual layer 2.4x DVD+R for DVD 9 version with regionfrii(to PAL)

Verbatim DVD-R 4 x for DVD 5 Version with regionfrii

I just like to thanks for all the helps and tips in this thread.

Cheers !!

hello everyone. my first post, yet i've been surfing around this thread for the last few days. It's been very educational as I am just about to mod my wii...mostly to play Brawl. I'm hoping to get some quick questions answered.

well...for one, my torrent download was going incredibly slow...so, I decided to try the rapidshare and download it in parts. Now, I've read here that once all the parts are downloaded, I can extract the first part and it will automatically extract all the parts to one ISO file.

the only thing is...I'm using a macbook, so I'm using MacPar instead of WinRar. Does anyone know if the procedure will work the same?

Not much we can help you with. There are tons of users that have extracted it fine.

Try updating to the latest WinRAR version.

What's the full message you get? If the download was in multiple parts did you download all of them?
There might also be a password on it - check where you downloaded it from and see if it has one or if any other users have posted comments about it or problems.

@ph1lch

If you downloaded it via UseNet, make sure to fix the files using the par files included in your download. Search QuickPar on the internet, and open the *.PAR files in your download folder with the program to fill in missing parts.

Missing parts are a normal occurence when downloading with UseNet. If you downloaded using a torrent, try another tracker or torrent file.

Hey guys

my stats

Wiikey 1.9g
PAL Wii 3.1E
15% Install Trick
Wii at x3 speed
burned with IMGBURN at 4x - played, audio stuttered, entire game played slow, SSE very slow sometimes. VS seemed ok, later found out game was running at about 75% speed
burned with Clonecd at 4x - Same as above
burned with IMGBURN at 4x with layer break - Booted and crashed
Burned with NERO Burning Rom 8 4x - Worked a little better than first IMGBURN Version.

Thats when i tried setting my read speed to x6, The NERO disc works PERFECTLY. no slow down, no juttery videos, no problems, faster loading times. no problem. AT ALL.

The media i used are AONE DL discs from bigpockets.

I did have the squirtle/mario water gun crash.
To fix this.
wii at 50hz (needed to boot first time)
turn OFF flicker in brawl
wii at 60hz

IF you do NOT play brawl at 60hz, Water gun (squirtle and mario) WILL CRASH YOU WII in SSE. (doesnt affect vs mode)

thought y'all would like to know, x6 fixes problems, not cause them.

Make sure your seting the layer break at 2084960

You should burn the DVD at the rated burn speed or at half. So if it is rated 6x try 6x burn speed. Make sure your not using brick blocker on it.
