Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could tell me:

1.The best media to use for backing up SSBB DL Ex.(Memorex DVD DL +R)

2.The best type of drive to burn the DL disc with.

Anyone know if the new wii update 3.2 is safe to install if you have the wii updated with japenese brawl and you used the 15% trick (have no dup channels), and a d2ckey chip installed. I think its unlikely it'll do anything bad but I want to make sure before i do it. If anyone installs it, post the results.

Safe for Wiikey and some other chips.
Also safe for SMG and SSBB games.

As stated, system and drive performances do improve as per official specs.

Where's the party?!?

Hi,
I have a Wii PAL, if I have understood how updates work, now with 3.2 update playing SSB should be simpler.

I mean:
-if I play SSB (even without brickblocker patch) with 3.2 already installed, it won't ask me anymore to update my wii (and so I won't get double channel)
-if I have a Wii with double channel (caused by SSB upgrade or something else), upgrading to 3.2 will remove duplicated channels.

Can anybody confirm??

Thank you.

Works fine with ARGON when doing the 2084960 trick and using Sony DL media.

If anyone is wondering, updating the wii to 3.2 if you have a d2ckey and a wii updated with japenese brawl, but 15% tricked to not have dual channels causes no problems, everything still works great!

Just to be ready for SSBB (U) on opening day, what program do I use to rip my real copy of SSBB (U) with my wii drive that rips normal wii games? I want to know the program that was used for SSBB (J) please, so that I don't have to download it for hours just go make a backup of my copy.

It takes around 2 and a half hours using the LG DVD ROM for a single later game, so i would guess almost double or so for a dual layer game as SSBB is.

If you're using the wii to do it I suspect its slower, however I can't confirm this but I believe there's a while lot of swapping SD cards and what not.

In contrast you could pull the game in 136 minutes from usenet on a (common) 10mbps connection.

Thanx for the reply, but I wanted to know what program he used, to rip the DL disc, since Raw dump wouldn't work.

Hi, I recently purchased a LEGIT copy of dairantou smash bros for my Japanese Wii and is unable to read it. It is updated to 3.2J and I do have a wiikey(1.9g) for it.

I have a backup single layer version that my Wii can read, but does nothing after I hit Start Game.

My legit copy doesn't even get read at all.

Is there something wrong?

Nintendo sent copies of these to E3 and other promo places. I guess that someone on the inside or a worker at these conventions must have taken one when nobody was look. =]

I just found out that a HUGE rumor is going out that Sears just sold like a handful of copies of SSBB (U), and they are now sold out. I called my Sears, and they said that they weren't selling it yet, but they heard about other Sears already selling it but they were all sold out. I would think Nintendo would be really pissed, but it is better for us.

Hey guys, I just found some really cheap DL DVD +R's at FRYS, and the brand is Great Quality (GC) I haven't really heard of this brand, so can someone please tell me if they had any success with SSBB using this brand.

Origional SSBB disks still arent working with wiikey. I'm not sure why your single layer backup isnt working, could be a bad burn or any number of other problems.

The guy at the shop is wrong though, new games work just fine on modded wii's. Its just that the wiikey still does not support dual layer origional disks. Dual layer backups are fine, but origionals give a disk read error.

Anyway, I would LOVE for the rumor of leaked english copies being true. I still have my copy on reserve at the local gamestop and have been playing my single layer japanese backup but I want to be able to play SSE mode and be able to read the menus.

OK, so I have a JP Wii with a Wiikey clone which I can't update to 1.9g. I got an original SSBB and it doesn't work either. Am I screwed?

Okay. I just installed my Wiikey and have been trying to update it to 1.9g. I keep getting the "Unable to read disc" message on the Disc Channel. Other, non-backup games work just fine.

I have tried 3 different burns at varying speeds and different programs. I am burning a 4th now.

It's possible that the solder job may not be the best. It looked fully soldered to me, but who knows?

Can someone tell me the best burn program to use (I use IMGBurn) and what speed to burn at? My discs are Memorex DVD-R rated at x16.

Thank you very much.

First off, the memorex media could be your problem. Its highly recommended here that you use verbatim, and in my experience, only use memorex media to keep your drinks from putting those water rings on your furniture.
