Based on what I've read on many forums using poor/bad media when burning this game results on the white screen only but the "burning process" is successful most of the time. My problem is the "burning process" always fail on 50%. Am I in a different case?

Who knows? There are so many ppl who have problems with this game and certainly it's mainly down to media and burners. I mentioned I burned on Verbatim and Aone - Of 2 burners I tried, one wouldn't even look at the Aones so you can assume there will be a range of problems between that sort of issue and actual success, including yours, where you hit that wall with that media in that burner. Other media may work or it may burn and you get one of the other erros ppl are having.

Trial and error I'm afraid and not that cheap on DL.

Try a different burner, and again, use Verbatim for best possible results

-very early release (yay newsgroups!)
-error 001 patched

Previous NON-Working copies were burned on Fujifilm DVD+DL 2.4x discs (they are terrible, but all i could get my hands on at the time), I thought it may be my wii, so i adjusted my laser down to just under 500ohms... wishing i hadnt done that now, and i recommend that before you do anything like that, try some different media!

I have a USA Wii, fully updated, and a WiiKey with 1.9S update

hey! Green Gnu , where did you find the -error 001 patched , i think i need that one . thank you

I don't have time to read this whole thread but i need some help if anyone is able to. I cant burn this game properly, i have an HP light scribe burner which supports Dual layer +R disks, i have verbatim DL+R disks, and tried using image burn, but it doesn't recognize the ISO file (despite the fact my friend's MAC burning it fine), dvd decrypter has a similar problem, and i tried Active@ ISO Burner, which failed at 50% due to a "Hardware error". i have only one disk left and need some ideas on what to do

My Wiikey is 1.9s, on a PAL wii (Australia)

try and burn on a pioneer burner if you have not got one maybe a friend of yours has. img burn is the best for burning wii backups however make sure you insert the layer break.then you should have no problems however, i recomend you read some of the disscusions on the site before trying again.

Try a different burner. Layer break is just a matter of preference of the wii system. Some people work with a layer break and some work without it.

I'm not familiar with Friidump since I don't have a correct LG dvd-rom. Is your dvd-rom one of those LG drive that can read Wii disc? If yes, it might be a media problem. Try use Verbatim.

It seems I get a disc error when loading the game. The green screen. Happens usually twice. Just take the game out, put it back in, and it works. Once the game gets going, no errors.
I've tried 3 times with my Verbatium dvd dl discs. Guess Ill just live with that.

On page 121, I explained how I fixed my personal error 001 problem:

Quote:
FIXED AND NOW WORKING:

Previously, I was having getting the "Error #001: Unauthorized Device Detected" black screen. SSBB loads on the channel screen and allows me to press Start. I receive the error after the disc drive fires up.

I acquired a ppf patch online that is being used to make SSBB NTSC backups run on PAL systems. Here is a description of what the ppf patch does from the NFO file included with it:

This PPF patch will modify the WiiZARD's iso file so the game can be played on PAL Wii systems. We removed the english updates so it doesn't apply the updates and you won't get duplicate channels. The region of the wii game is also patched. The modchip doesn't have to change the region on the fly anymore. This patch is confirmed working on the Wiikey 1.9g firmware in combination with 3.2E. The game runs on 60Hz and without any framedrops. It's signed with the Trucha Signer.

Of course, as noted below, I have an NTSC launch day system. I simply patched the iso file with this ppf, then used RegionFrii to change the iso back to NTSC/USA (since the patch will change the region to PAL.) My disc loaded magically with no issues, and I do not have duplicate channels on my Wii menu.

For those interested in trying this method, here is a link to the ppf file:

Launch day NTSC Wii with Wiikey running 1.9s
Wiizard version of SSBB NTSC burned at 2.4x to Verbatim DVD+DL (no layer break) - Patched disc with NTSC to PAL ppf then reset region to US using RegionFrii
Wii updated to 3.2U

I know that the ppf gets rid of the 001 Error checking with the disc. If your rip is otherwise okay, it might be worth a shot.
