Hello all-Speaking of cache, can I delete/clean the cache from PG2, or is it only if I use Bluetack?Also, the linked article below mentions many other lists I would like to use/find, any opinions on their value/where to find them?Thanks.

Check out peerblock. I had same problem and switched to peer block and it appears to be same program renamed-same window appearance.
Read about it here:

Re the cached files, even if empty just delete them. Peerblock, as suggested, seems to be a good replacement for Peer Guardian, but bear in mind the supposed protection given by such progams is only as good as the IP lists underneath them.

I don't see anything in that "log" file that would indicate a error.

@pea

Can you actually update your peer guardian lists when you open the program? Mine would not after a reinstall of several times over the past months. I finally gave up and switched to peerblock with no complications. Just curious?

I wrote this guide a long time back and PeerGuardian 2 was still a reliable program that was updated. It stopped working for me and I switched to PeerBlock and never looked back.

I'm guessing that gle8871 might be trying to download the lists whilst Peer Guardian is running. Obviously it's better to disable or better still close down PG2 while trying to update Block List Manager.
I'm still happily using PG2 along with the lists provided by BLM as they still work for me.

creaky is right it is always best to close down PG2 when updating its lists.

Peerblock should be compatible with Win 7.

guys guys guys...... i keep getting the wrong info here... please read through the thread.... my problem is not with peer block... it is with blocklist manager!!!!! I try to download the lists for peer block with it but it shows me no sources to select (see #2 in tutorial)... I repeat I am not having issues with peer block... it is blocklist manager... and that was why i asked if maybe blocklist manager was compatible with win 7 not peerblock...

seriously guys, I do real appreciate you all trying to help...
I m just looking for the right answer here

NOD 32 has said during download, that the newest Blocklist Manager: Blocklist_Manager_Install_2.7.7.exe from http://blocklistpro.com/download-center/..._2.7.7.exe.html is infected. WTF?

Its a false positive. Basically it sees the program connecting to a server to download a update of some sort which is how viruses,trojans,etc. work and it thinks the program is malicious. Nothing to worry about, your A/V is simply a bit over zealous.

Are you stupid? It was the newest version of Blocklist Manager, so what the update do you mean? Think at first, and don't write bullshits, ok? For all the *bleep* lamers thanks in advance.
BTW. alarm of infencion was before installing and working of the Blocklist Manager, just during download!
