I could go back and do the disassembly part to mod finished if you'd like. I was thinking you had already taken apart the psp. Would you like me to take another vid?

Well, that would be helpful :> but i took the button bar ribbon off today.
now i know how to get ribbons off.

and that lcd removing i've seen like 20 times on youtube or something, so if you could get from disassembled psp to mod done-vid
and film everything between psp disassembly and mod done. + if you can,would you use little more poor quality because these vids are kinda big-sized. but it would be great.

Ok I got the vid down. I lowered the quality, and ended up with a 691 MB .vob file. Megaupload only allows up to 500MB so I'm going to have to split the file or something.

Could you make 2 files, both like 345 mb or that.
and i think you know what winrar is, you can use it to split the files and if you could rar them (.rar archives) that would be nice. then they are less size when dl/upping em.

This guide is great, But I still dont understand sound reactive LED's, I have a PSP slim Chrome case front, what color LED would be great for that? I want to make the triggers, UMD door, and bottons, what do I do?

I found a bricked psp a year ago and me and my friend smashed it. But a week later we heard about pandora. oops...

well i hate those sound reactive LEDs, its just my opinion.

but i think you just solder the leds - and + points to the speaker wires. (NOT SURE!)

and you decide yourself what colour LEDs you want to use.

and one guide is HERE but it doesn't tell about umd door leds.

edit - what the he*l usually i dl 100kt/s but now its sum 12 kt/s.
i might be downloading next parts tomorrow :<

acidmods has reposted and fixed their PSP LED trigger mod, found here.

I was able to find this guide concerning the sound reactive LED's (for slims though).

Also found this for button LED's (again for slims though).

I've been wanting to do a UMD door mod myself. I mean check out these jewels --->link<---

Sorry about slitting it into seven parts man, chose zip100 format and it gave me 7.

Dude i dont care about those 7 parts, good that you upped em'

and i have a FAT psp, and i dont really like those buttons leds(slim only,but still) . i mean my thumbs are always on them. BUT , they do look still cool.

That UMD door mod is kinda awesome, but since i am just a kid,i wouldnt like to blow my psp.
(i think i cannot disassemble it completely without damages)

but good that you found those links to us :)

and , a black psp with red trigs and shiny red chrome buttons is enough for me. maybe sometimes red leds in clear umd door. dont know about it.

+ that sound mod is more complicated than i thought, but well,i'm not doin' it. but those who like it, do it if you can.

you have to dissasemble the whole PSP to replace the UMD door? I just got my PSP slim faceplate and bottons sent in the mail today, but I was thinking a transparent UMD door. But I wish i could find someone to do this for me. Im only 13 and I dont want to screw up. Cant fix a broken part with a pandora. (obviously) but does any1 kno were their is a cheap but good service?

@MAPESA
Good idea on doing the mod at school, I'm actually going to do a razor x installation on my phat PSP at school (soon as the parts get here). The teacher said it would be able to count as a project since it dealt with electronics (ITS class). ;)
Another plus is that you can use the schools resources without getting in trouble.

Don't think you will blow your PSP up. Just so long as you take precautions, such as ridding your body of static electricity before installation, having a roomy work space, proper equipment/supplies, etc.

@PSP3000w
I'm based in OR, USA (right above you). So you would want a transparent UMD door, not a jewel, right?
Something like this.

RAZOR X? isnt that the added analog? 2 analogs would be nice :P.

i thought that is quite hard? is it?

(well, even if it isn't, i wont do that,or maybe sometimes.i think still i don't.)

but back to my thing. the soldering iron we have is a big-tip.

my dad works some electronics things, so he said we can solder leds there at his work place. with a sharp tip.

and today i got the lcd brace off. and i think my wire from school is too big. i can get only one wire through that pobo hole. (2 would be impossible).

and yes, i am afraid of something like i do the mod, i think its okay and when i try to put the psp on, it wouldnt start.
(my nightmare :S) then i don't know whats wrong so that would be bad.

and, the trigger mod is not any kind of project at my school.
just found the instructions on the internet and i do it if i can. maybe i'll ask some + from it.

and btw i do discharge myself from static electricity by touching one of the trampóline's metal bars. at least when i've been jumping.

edit - and i think zip100 option was 100mb parts. but i dont care about it.

Never done a razor x installation before (this is my first). I'm not that nervous though as I've read up on the proper material and done my research.

Your soldering iron is going to have to have a really fine tip. 30AWG kynar wire is standard for this mod. There is also a 30 gauge insulation wire at radioshack that I've heard works (never tried it though). The wire you are using should work. Though the PSP might need to be screwed back together with force (because of the size of the wire). It is good that you are aware of static electricity.

Well I don't have a service per say. I have done some mods for friends though and they were happy with the results. Check out some of my pics in my profile. I'd say I just practiced really to do what I do, watched vids/read tutorials also.

Ok, picked up a slim (from friend), just let me get familiar with it , power points for LED's, basic structure, etc. Should only take me about two days to fully get used to it. We could then work something out on monday, you cool with that man?

@MAPESA
Any luck downing the vid?
