Wanna know what happened to me?

well, here it comes: painted the ring and buttons now.
looking good :> but, I messed with the motherboard.

when i put lcd on, there was backlight broken.
:<
so i went to llamma and saw a DIY guide :P

also saw that it was mobo's fault.

so i tried.

i accidentally got the little black plastic thing off, just like in my powerboard :S

but, it didnt matter :O so i soldered tiny wire to bridge those 2 spots.
just like in llamma pic.

and i succeeded! yeah! then i put my psp into 1 part again. when i got the home bar on, i rememberéd there was no screws in lcd cage.

hell of a time taking that lcd off when cage wants to come with it.

but i got it. then i put my psp in 1 part, again...when i noticed I losed the tiny thing what you don't want to lose. (plastic "box" between mobo and analog). havent found it yet :<

if i cant find it, i'll buy psp with broken lcd and without batt and charger. only 25$ from web.

there would be all my spare parts. including the analog-mobo connector box.

and btw, my dad tried to solder that backlight fuse repair wire first. He didn't got it. but i got :>

edit - forgot to mention DX pobos haven't arrived yet.

Haven't found that "box" yet. pfff... :<

just a little "update" - i sold my another faceplate to my friend cos ít had little analog lag when that faceplate was on.

with his psp theres no problems at all.

he gave me his original faceplate. i painted it like...
"zebra stripes" :O (black+red) (vertical red stripes)

And i did the power/charge LED swap. (not new thing)

now both my charging/power LEDs are red.

and i'll post when i have the pobos.

Glad you like it :>

but i think that psp's left side is better painted than right.

and i was surprised today since dad said he bought smaller soldering iron (Yess) and hot glue gun. + some soldering tin and glue sticks to gun.

only thing i need is one 10ohm resistor + like 30cm of thinner wire.
and, no stuff from DX arrived.

and i have bridged those 2 spots in pobo, where should be the black thing. now my red led is brighter. it has been bridged like week. so i think my LED wont burn.

edit - and why can't i just get those leds like...

pobo + to wire to resistor to first led's +. led's - to next led's +. and from that led's - to pobo's - spot.

i dont know the right word for ????circuit so i explained some crap like this.

Finally, pobos arrived. not so big thing cos i will just test everything with em and my psp works with original pobo.

but. no resistor yet. thinner wires also missing.

Just the way the circuit works man. I got guides for wiring the led's to the hold switch or wi-fi switch if you want em.

Well i guess i'll just leave all my explained shit behind and move on.

I'll just wire em like you did. i think it's the best way. (and quite clean)

(right when i have resistor+wire.)

edit - and i mean i wire em like in your pic. not in any switch. so they are always on. and pulse when batt is low, like power led.

Well you could get a simpler circuit going but the leds would have to be like right next to each other...
Which takes that option away, since the triggers are not side by side.

Ok, i'll do it like you did. as said above.

i dont need those hold/wifi guides. or, give me a link to hold + and - solder points. if you can.

But, need to ask something; can i wire 4 0805's to these pobo power points? is there enough juice to power 4 leds?

(just thinking is there room in trigs for 2 leds..?) [ultra-bright trigs :D]

and , if you sometime do the umd door mod, tell me...?

Pretty sure you would need a diff resistor value if you did 4. Use a resistor calculator on the net to find which one, I'm not sure off the top of my head.

Just wait till you see UMD mod I am doing. As soon as I get the jewels in the mail...

PM your email address so I can send you the hold switch tut. I was able to get it before they took the site down (that hosted it).

Sent you the tuts for wifi/hold switch. For wiring the leds to umd door mod, I would say you could use either the wifi or hold switch's points and just not cut the traces (that turn them into switches).

I'll see if I can find a PSP powerboard info pic on AM. I remember seeing one for the PSP slim.

erm, if you dont cut the hold trace and you wire leds in it, they are on only when hold is on, and with hold on, you can do nothing.

if i am right. but i found some info:¨

You are correct the leds would replace the normal function of the hold switch. I never use it though so it worked out for me.

Could you help me? there's something seriously wrong with my psp.

i got the triggermod done, but that hot glue blocks the triggers bit so they cant go like.. if you look psp from right side, right.

-Fixed, the triggers were like L was on right side >D

and theres more to come... sometimes it just randomly loses the picture on the screen, sometimes leds turn off itself, then maybe back on, i cant close my psp

-fixed, dont know how but now i can close my psp. its tight, but still.

and my left/right on d-pad wont work. the buttons go deep into psp and nothing happens.

-half fix, now only the right on d-pad lags.

is my psp ruined :<

-no

but i can always get the original pobo on the psp and...i CANT get spare trigs.... so it is ruined....until i get some spare trigs. or fix that my crappy triggermod.

i'll go trying to fix it.

update: that damn lcd cage. it shorted out something, again.
well im not mad. i will get my psp working. im sure.

more updates: got that mod removed. now i got all original parts in psp. and removed leds from trigs. but d-pad on right is not working.

also more probs: the volume buttons dont make volume change, but they do something else. maybe they are like "home" buttons both?

what-the-hell.

and, now i got the mod itself working. theres those problems above, and its not bright. :< i screwed.

Alright well the right button on the d-pad is because it is probably being squished by the lcd cage. lcd cage has a slit in the side (left) which is where tab on the d-pad inserts.

For leds turning off make sure you don't have any bare wire showing (causes shorts), instead wrap those parts up with black electrical tape. Also make sure your wires are soldered on real good to the leds. I remember my leds would go out and it was because of my soldering (wire to led part).

For the volume buttons acting like home, ribbon cable not in all the way maybe?

I think you are right about that d-pad thing, but i put some red electrical tape to d-pad and now all my buttons work.

They still go kinda deep in psp. And that volume buttons acting home, there was a tiny drop of solder in pobo where the ribbon connector is.

And it connected the volumes and home lines. So i took it out and now they work.

and where the 1 wire comes two wires, i put red electrical tape in lcd cage in that spot, and in mobo-pobo ribbon.

well i think everything is ok in psp now, except the missing mobo-analog rubber and d-pad goes deep.

maybe moving lcd cage a bit would help, and little more tape.

but, i made it :>

i'll maybe post a pic but that mod is kinda usual. so i'll only maybe.

Removed the tape and got d-pad under the lcd cage and now it works perfectly. and the leds will stay on if power led is on.

pics: click the link in my sig.

so i'll think this thread was here. unless we talk about your razorX :D

Well I was able to sort of finish the install yesterday. The case doesn't quite close all the way. It does work though, it just gets stuck sometimes. I think it's cause of the spring it has, got messed up in the process.

Not bad for my first try though I would say. I'm just going to get some copper boards at radioshack and make my own razorX boards. That way I can practice some more.

Edit: dang those are blurry, let me some more pics.

Here we go

Nice. But whats that white mess in faceplates inside? some sort of glue?

and what you solder from analog to where? (well i dont need a tut [yet]:D ) but i'd like to know those.

my guess is those 4 spots in those triangle, square, triangle and X.

like in that info pic coloured spots. i think im wrong so please tell :>

edit - man your trigs are bright! tell me your secret :D how did you get em so bright? my trigs are kinda "soft glow" in bright daylight.

i dont know is it from the LED color (cos blue is more brighter, i think. like closer to white than red)

and are there any screws on faceplate at all? at least in that pic 2 its wide open (faceplate) or can you close it? well doesnt matter i lost 2 screws when i did the mod.

The white mess is cause of the sanding I had to do. Wouldn't show if I had been using a stock faceplate (black).
Here is a pic of points used for razor x (5 total - /\,[],(),x,gnd)

Don't really have secret for making bright trigs, just use regular 10 ohm resistor from radioshack and 0603 SMD led's from llamma.com

I have all screws on except one cause I had to make room for the razor x.
