Just did a Google (UPC encrytion) and there does seem to be some substance to this story. Looks like Nagra 3 is on its way to Ireland and I'm sure VM will be watching with interest. But like everything else its a matter of wait and see - we are all very aware of the variable shelf life of things like Eurovoxes, Starviews etc.

Hi im donna and new to all this, Ive been without my channels for ages now. Then someone gave me a link to here. Even though i have read alot before posting and still in te dark.
I have a siver thebox pvr with 160gig h/d
I have the leads to update software but not a clue what link to download can any of you nice people help me please thanks inadvance

Hi Donna, first of all lets identify your box, from your description it would appear to be Starview The Box PVR, and if it is this one at the link then okay, that's the one. >>>>>>>>>

Now if you click on the link marked Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post and look for the folder marked The Box PVR and click into that, then you will find all the Information you need to flash and set up your box, it will be in the sub folder Documentation.

i flashed two eurovox blue clone with "evmax_blue_011208_core_140207_clonesafe.rar" and both boxes worked ok for a few days before the display turns to 0145 and the remote becomes inactive except for to put units into standby and shows time 12:00 and then on again with 0145 on screen. I think both went into this mode after the 2nd time they were put into standby, ihave reflashed them with same firmware and april firmware but after saying successful download i get the same 0145 on display. does anybody know how to default a eurovox to factory setting without the use of menu, i am on ntl mmds

Hi Heno ,
I Had a problem with incorrect software load to a genuine EU Voxmax
I got it sorted
heres how to re load the correct one
1. Start program loader
2. connect box to your pc/laptop
3. The loader cannot find Box (searching Com's)- This is usual
4. Press Start & select your com port This Pushes the program on.
5. Reset Your Box by Un plugging from Mains and plug back in.
6. Watch & wait as Program download begins And Writes.
I hope this helps I thought this box was bricked but this is a true testament to the benifits of spending a little extra for a Genuine Eurovox !

Heathlawn i don't have a solution to your problem but just letting you know i had the same problem with the remote. Mine don't work either but i can change the stations with the box itself. If anyone has a suggestion on how to fix please share. Tks.

Hey guys just to let u know i was trying to flash my box with the usb cable and a gender changer and it would not work for the death i tried and tried with nothing so after a while i went out and got a null modem cable i connected that to the box and connected the usb cable to the other end of the null cable so it was male into female and back to my pc with the usb end and it worked perfect 5 min and i was back up and running thanks for everything guys yous do great work here hope all had a happy new year .
I Think the problem with the usb cable and gender changer is that it has no screws to connect it to the box firmly once i lock in the null cable it start downloading straight away .

Hi there if any of you get a few minutes could you please tell me step by step how you set up your box in Naas as i set up a ex1000sl for my mate in Dublin and he took it to Newbridge Co Kildare and he can only get about 60 channels on it but he can get 121 channels on his starview 3 . Hes with c----s and he has my head melted trying to get him set up over the phone so if you wouldnt mind giving me a step by step guide on how you set your one up i would be very grateful,inc symbol rates and frequencies that you scanned etc .

Use 6875 as your symbol rate and use the scanning instructions on page 1.

Hey guys just wondering if there is a new fix for the eurovox ex1000sl? I tried flashing it for a friend before christmas with the last firmware release (1 or 3/12/2008) and it just said that the firmware had been upgraded to ver 2.00? but in the guide it says 2.10? Anyway it's still not autorolling and I can't get the secret menu up on it for you know what?
Any help would be great appreciated!!

Sorry to hear that ,yes i think so thanks to HiTeck ill just have to go to Newbridge myself and do it for him.Just wanted to check something with you ,do you do a factory reset on 6887 first before you rescan as i set it up for n-l and he is on ch---s.

you mite only pick up 60 stations in newbridge its the sticks innit lol i pick up all channels in ringsend but me sister lives in dunboyne and only picks up about 80 maybe use a signal booster
