Plug an RF cable into the box rather than a scart lead and see if your picture returns.

toffee did you tune your TV in after like you would a VCR?
Yes anto both try this courtesy of scouser.
1. Plug the RF lead into the video RF socket on the back of the Eurovox.
2. Tune your telly until you get the 'enter pin' screen for your Eurovox.
3. Enter the master pin which is 1004.
4. Go to Eurovox menu and clear data, then do a factory reset.
5. Thats it, plug your scart back in and do a powerscan as normal.

Does it update? if so dont worry about the dates. Blue Red dates go back to 2007 when updated, max V doesn't change date, ex5000pvr changes to october, im unsure whether the ex1000 alters dates when flashed. As said providing it updates thats all that matters.

Yes it did HiTeck so once again many thanks. The only thing I can't understand is I had a blue box, and I've set others up but I've never had to tune it into the television before

You don't have to tune the TV when using a scart lead but when you use a RF cable you do.
Glad your sorted mate, all the best.

If you used the firmware with the fav sort when you press FAV button on your remote it should show them in category order- Entertainment, Music, sport etc.

I have a problem with my ex5000 with hdd installed.
Every now and then i get a short pause for a split second or sometimes longer on all channels
Not sure of the intervals of this glitch but it is regular.
Does any one else have this prob?
I have had it from the time the box was new (6months) and it still continues even though i am now on my 5th version of firmware.
Its bearable but can be slightly off putting at times when it glitches for more than a second or so.
Any suggestions as to why or is this generic of this receiver?

I would not say it is generic
Are all your connections nice and tight? or are you using any splitters etc. on the RF feed ?
Usually the breaking up/freezing is due to poor connection somewhere along the way
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

I will check them again but they were tight. I am using a splitter to branch off to the bedroom as well as the lounge. Got a ex5000 in both rooms.

Hi Everyone. My eurovoxpvr went just before Christmas. The same time as everyone elses from what i hear.Someone said something about codes being updated.Someone else said to me i need a new PIN number.
I am not very technically minded so can smeone explain in plain English what i need to do to get my stations back.
At the moment when i go into installation and try to scan i just get a message saying no stations avaiable.
I live in Dublin.
I hope its ok to ask that question here.
Thank you to anyone who might be able to restore my viewing pleasure !
