Have you got access to an older PC with a 9 pin connection that will accept the nul modem cable?
I wasted £10 buying an RS232 to USB cable last week to try and update a box from a laptop because I didn't have access to a PC, did everything as per instructions, same problem as you, couldn't lock on a port.
If you use the nul modem from 9 pin to box, runs smoothly, I've done loads of Max V 2008, 1000SL and 5000, never a problem.

Has anyone else received a letter from Vegan which starts:
"Dear (Subscribers name)
It has been brought to our attention that someone at your address has purchased and may be using an unauthorised set-top box"?
It then goes on about copyright and disconnection.
This is not a wind-up, I've got a copy of the letter here which was sent to a friend of mine. I'm curious where they got the info from, he's recently bought a box from a supplier he's never used before, and suddenly he gets this letter, so it make you wonder if the supplier informed them for a pay-off.
He's bought and sold dozens of boxes prior to this with no problem, just seems odd.
Anyone else, or any comments people??

Factory default and power-scan should bring it in.
thanks for the advice what time does eden start and is it any good.
if its no good i wont bother as a power scan means i gota put all my favs back and rename takes ages thanks.

I don't know I never watch it but if you have the auto-sort firmware you will not have to sort your channels it will sort them itself into category order.

Hi there my eurovox max has lost a few of the sky channels and the others ar unwatchable. All other channels are fine does the box need flashed again or retuned. I'm in Glasgow area

jamie6666 - Don't worry about it, it is an ongoing tactic, if you want to you can give them a ring and express your outrage at being accused of something like that, or just ignore it. These letters have been sent out willy nilly, (Just hoping for a positive hit) - I am aware of people that have recieved one that have never owned a box and are not aware of the capabilities, on the other hand it could be that someone has dobbed you in, but unlikely, but they have to come in and actually catch you using one anyway, and never forget that you can refuse them entry if they come without an appointment, just tell them to go away and make an appointment if ever that happens. They have been going around the M/Side area awhile now saying that they wanted to check your cabling connections, so as said if they ever turn up unannounced just send them away, it is pretty well documented, just put a search in as this link here.

Just do a Factory Default and a fresh powerscan on your correct symbol rate, that will bring them back in, frequencies tend to drift from time to time and they even change.

It would appear that they have more than likely got some information from a supplier source, hence the disappearance from and the policy at fleabay, but they are not illegal to sell or purchase, it is what you may or may not do with regard to adapting or altering the capabilities of the reciever (FTA Recievers Only) - personally I would complain in bewilderment as to what they are trying to say to you and why, might ease your mind (and you could even learn something) of interest to yourself and others - but it is your choice, don't worry. :)

jamie have you got a minimum tv package with v--gin if so plug your box back in and go on catch up tv this way the box talks back to them if not wouldn't worry to much they are just trying to scare and its working.

anybody help me eurosport frozen and scramled on my eurovox blue box on n*l ireland missing wsb a few discovery missing with it as well,have done full scan,auto scan,reset and re flashed it,i reckon freq could be wrong any ideas !!!!!

malci as explained this mate in the few above just do a factory default then a full powerscan make sure you use correct symbol rate,should sort it.

Tried what you said mate still very bad pictures on same channels as if the digital signal is breaking up. Any other ideas it just seems to be Sky channels some movies and sports. It won't be anything to do with HD on these channels will it?

i have been told they are doing a lot of work in that area, frequencies are changing so i would try again tomorrow or try deleting each one what is bad then do an auto update or full powerscan.
