Hello All,

I havent been on here in a long time, possibly over 6 months.

I have a Eurovox black Max V 2008 on Ch&rus which hasnt given me any trouble at all....I still have all stations to-date,

although i received a letter from UPC this morning which said.

We would like to advise you that we are about to start a very important upgrade on our TV systems. This will allow us to both improve the security of your TV service and prepare for exciting future Digital TV enhancements. An important step in this upgrade is the replacement of the card in your digital box.

We will write to you again within the coming weeks with your new card and detailed info on how to change the card in your digital box.
In the meantime you will need to download new software onto your Digital Box.

and it lists the instructions.

so is this finally the end for Ch&rus customers with currently working boxes now?

Sorry if im on the wrong thread, i do apolagise.

cheers
Steve.

Hi Steve,
Before c*orus & Nt* merged to make UP* they were both transmitting their channels on different infrastructure.
Now that they are together I think they are finally getting the c*orus stuff upgraded.
I received the same card & notice you described a while back so it does look like UP* are moving their c*orus kit onto Nagra 3 encryption.
Your Max V has been discontinued & replaced by the ex1000sl so there may not even be a release for your box if Nagra 3 ever does get cracked.
A lot of prople have been affected so you can sit it out & wait & see what happens with Nagra 3.

Well to be honest, my box is still working perfectly :)

and i have not downloaded the new software yet....(i dont intend to)

they can send me out the new card but it wont go into the box.

so i'll just continue using what i have with no affect :)

they wont know right ?!!

Yeah their signal is one way (transmit). Eventually they'll have everything on N3 but yeah just be thankful you've gotten this long out of it & that you're not on NT*.
Enjoy.

Hi im new to the site and was looking for some help regarding my Eurovox EX7000. I have had the box for a few months now, but no matter what i do, or how many times i rescan/deep scan, i cant pick up some channels. Im trying to pick up Sky Premier and premier +1 I think im right in saying that its on frequency 411 and 6887 for the glasgow area?

Ive tried manually entering the above details and seaching for the channels, but on the frequency its only fx HD and another channel that comes up, Can anyone help me out.

The eurovox max downstairs picks up sky premier no problem

There might be new firmware out for that box. The first page of this thread will show you how to do it & "EAMO's" library should have the links & guides on how to update your box (Eamo's librabry is at the end of HiTeck & Sc0users profiles).
I'm not familiar with the 7000 or UK area so good luck.

Hi, 1st time posting on here, but I've been a happy user of the max v for a few years so I'm not new to null cables, channel saving, firmware updates etc.
However after persuading my sister to get a EX1000SL I'm having problems updating the firmware for her to allow the full set of channels to be received.

I'm following the excellent guide at the start of this thread.
I've got the firmware suggested (I've tried both the sort and no-sort versions).
I've connected the box via null cable to my pc.
I power up the eurovox and the red stand-by light comes on.
I start the software and click on download, which reports 'Version 2.00 detected'
I click on 'Start' and get the message 'System Re-set'.
Then immediately the red stand-by light goes off on the eurovox.
The software reports that it's 'sending' for a few seconds and then stops at anything between 4% and 9% (I assume that's when it realises that the EX1000 has switched off)

I've tried re-setting the box to factory defaults and having another go but get the same results

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Sam

If you haven't got your tools handy you might be also able to see in through the air-vents to see if it's clone V original.

maybe this is a stupid question but does the Krytview work on nagra 3 ?
These are a relatively new box correct so would these work for NT HELL customers who have gone to Nagra 3 now.

Also were have all the old lads in here gone ?
have they moved to another forum on another site ?
Is Fergal still around etc ?

Thanks
Steve

Nothing's working on Nagra3 as far as I'm aware.
As for the lads - I'm sure they're still here. There is another few sites but think this is one of the most widely known so I'm sure they're still out there, waiting, watching, listening...

You could check the forum topic threads to see who has recently been posting...
Keep the faith.

...and are there developers working still to see if they can crack this ?

Surely there is no way around this as its similar encryption to what SKY have correct?

I'm sure there are people out there trying to crack it.
I'm not 100% sure how S*Y are set-up.
I'm open to correction but:
Think they have 2 lines (one for transmitting signal and 1 for receiving) so they can see who's watching stuff they haven't paid for.
NT* just transmit the signal & send you a card for your box so you can decode whatever package you've paid for. They encrypt everything else with N3 so you can't watch anything your card can't decrypt.
When (if) N3 gets cracked your box should be able to get around anything that is encrypted by Nagra3 so cards wouldn't matter.

As I say I'm open to correction on this but that's how I have it.

You need to forget about ways around this... If you're on NT* and N3 is rolled out to you then you can't get any channels unless you pay for them or go to SK*.
Otherwise there's a few other options such as the internet on your PC, satellite dish & receiver or card sharing all of which are discussed & explained in this thread & similar threads.

Hi there

Just looking for a little bit of advice please. I recently changed from a Eurovox Max box to an Eurovox EX5100 PVR, as the sound on the Max box went.

I tried tuning in the channels on the new box today and even though all the channels were found and with strong signals, everytime I try to look at a channel it says 'scrambled channel'. I'm assuming that this means I need to put some software into the box?

I've been looking at threads on this forum and came across this one http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/e...utorial-674371/ but to be honest I'm not too sure which software I should be using. I saw a 5100 PVR (Ireland) software on this link, so I'm thinking its that one but as I'm not 100% sure I just thought I'd ask for some advice from people in the know!! As I don't want to damage the box with something thats completely unsuitable.. if thats possible?! Sorry I'm completely clueless when it comes to these things.

I'm on chorus cable in Limerick, Ireland and any help at all would be very much appreciated. Don't want to miss the footie at the weekend..

Thanks in advance
Caroline :-)

Hi everyone, I posted the above yesterday in the forum. Think I posted it in the wrong place so apologies. Anyway since I posted it i have tried to install the software that I found on http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/e...utorial-674371/, however even though it says Ireland after it, it doesnt seem to be working. Channels are all still scrambled, bar two - RTE1 and Setanta Ireland. Any advice on if I'm doing anything wrong?

Any help would be very much appreciated! I'm trying everything I can and nothing seems to be working!

Thanks again
Caroline
