I thought I'd pass this info on as it seems a good few people who are struggling with the new fix have had the same thing happen....i.e getting stuck on 0% during the update. Well on dooby2oon's guide he mentions this:

"I've had a few of these super box's hang on 0% updating with a flicker every ten secs or so, if this happens just flick power off on the back then flick back on will then update as normal"

But it's a little confusing as earlier in the same guide he says never to switch the box or the PC off when the update is in progress. So I'm confused as to if you flick the switch while the ROM loader is in operation or not. Or could he mean that because it is stuck at 0% it is safe to do this, as the update has not effectively started yet? Dooby does mean what he say's, if it is downloading then NO you must not switch off the box or PC, if it is sticking on 0% then yes it will do no harm to switch off then back on, it's just like an hardboot download, sometimes works, it's like a kickstart, obviously the settings must be correct as in his guide.

family whose owners will be over-the-moon (and I can get some peace and quiet not answering the phone every time V roll the numbers) ;)

I downloaded the earlier fix?s and lost the lot, box showing only four dashes
I have now loaded V4.51, which you needed to flash to have V4.54 installed then I then flash the logo file with the background data file ticked,

I finished with the new 802 file, after all that all I get is the ON.
Any idea?s chaps

Put the 4.51 back on and make sure that it has flashed and the firmware is back on, then do the following

First flash thebox_454eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)

Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.4.3
(select Background Data File)

Then flash with the 802 BIN FILE using the same loader.


If by any chance you cannot get the 4.51 firmware flashed back on, then go to the link marked Starview 2nd line at the bottom of my post and follow the Bad Flash Guide, it may take a few attempts but it will eventually kick in.

sorry to be back I downloads 5.54 alright as a individuall file it's when I clicks on The box_logobg when it opens up in the bin file this is what I see.

Where you have the Folder saying on your desktop 4.54 FIRMWARE + LOGO FILE, double click that and separate them, drag and drop them on to your desktop, it's the only way. Can't really understand why you have not done that, then you can just get the LOGO FILE on it's own. Just done one out of curiosity and there was no problems at all. You must have them all on your desktop so that you can see them individually. That is the easiest way, but when you press BIN File button if they are still in a folder together in the OPEN box, then double click the folder and then HIGHLIGHT it and press open.

If you are still having trouble, leave the 4.54 on the box and I will seperate and give you a link with it on it's own, to down load to your desktop, try it that way. Let me know?
